Madai won the super lottery by obtaining the power of pyrokinesis. He can create and control fire with his mind, in addition to creating it he is immune to its effects. He's been getting one on one lessons in yoga from Tasha, the yoga instructor at the Anytime Fitness. Using the meditative movements of yoga Madai has been able to control and strengthen his powers. Every few months he'll go on weekend trips to the Tacoma Ridge where he'll explore his pyrokinesis. Its effectiveness is destructive.

Madai was born in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada in 1995; his little sister Alyona was born in the same place four years later. At the age of 12 his family relocated to Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A. because of a job offer.
When Madai was 18 he had a long conversation with his family about his sexuality, effectively coming out. While Alyona already knew, his parents did not but were completely supportive. That night was his last with the family as the next day he moved out and moved to Bridgeport to spread his wings, so to speak.
He doesn’t speak much of his time in Bridgeport, which only lasted eight months before he moved to Ashford in seeking a calmer life. No one knows the true reason, though there’s much discussion. The truth of course, is much more simpler than vague fantasies, it was the result of a spoiled relationship, and the pain of the memory that caused Madai to leave Bridgeport. Though, this fact, as well as the details of it, Madai keeps in the strictest confidence.
His life in Ashford has been much very much phenomenal. He very quickly got a job as a personal trainer at Anytime Fitness and he has fit in stupendously. He has great weeks, greater weekends; and his life is characterized by joy and prosperity.
That was until he first experienced his power some two years before present day. Conveniently, he was home alone when it first happened. Embarrassingly, he was “pleasuring himself” and at his climax he erupted in an explosive ball of flame which set alit his bedroom. Panicking, he ran into the kitchen to grab the fire extinguisher which he kept underneath the kitchen sink. He ran into the inferno of his room but was unable to extinguish the fire. Faced with defeat from the blaze he abandoned his house wearing only his boxer shorts. He ran to the next-door neighbours who called the fire department and provided him with some ill-fitting clothes.
This was the first time that he experienced his power, and he became abstinent for about a year (a feat requiring much willpower attesting to Madai’s incredible commitment), fearing another fiery explosion. He began to be able to command the fire on the command, though, always out of control. It took him six months of practice, together with yoga lessons, to be able to balance himself to the point where he has practically full control over his pyrokinetic ability.
This past year has been much better for him, with his ability under control he began testing the boundaries of his control with himself out in the woods to much success. His sex life is now much better, and his stress and anxiety has been going down as well.
Within the past six months, he has been donning an outfit and becoming a vigilante. Personal Trainer by day, superhero by evening, and asleep by night; he has given himself the moniker The Firecracker. But, his vigilante efforts have not been unnoticed by local authorities who are trying to catch him, with great failure on their part.
