Bella enjoys spending her afternoons sitting in the parlor window seat, reading a book or singing and playing the piano. She has the mannerisms of a true princess, and is quite the opposite of her younger sister. Bella longs to have an adventure or romance like the ones she reads about. She is very kind and patient with her family, but does not respect commoners. Bella believes that being a princess means you should act like a princess. She enjoys ballroom dancing, and evening rides on the horse her fiancé gave her. Although horseback riding is for men, in this day and age, it has always been a passion of hers. Her father, being the King, lets her only because she is so well behaved otherwise. She has a fairly quick temper, but she is always quick to apologize when she has stepped out of line. She has a hard time dealing with her own emotions sometimes, so she prefers to lock them away and pretend everything is alright when it isn’t. She hates to let people see her cry. Isabella is a terrible liar, and finds it almost impossible to make someone believe her when she is not telling the truth. When she lies, she can’t help but stare at her feet. Isabella is a social butterfly, and does not like to be alone but that does not mean that she is not independent. Rather, Isabella takes it upon herself to help run the kingdom and keep her younger sister in line. She is very good at giving advice, but it is seldom that she follows her own. She is very stern, but in a loving way and is commanding, but not in a bossy way. Something about her makes people enjoy her company. Isabella may not be able to lie, but she is very good at creative truth-telling and keeping secrets.
Isabella enjoys the company of aristocrats and other royal members but does not care to be around the common people. Perhaps it is because she never has been, and only knows of the beggars on the street that crowd the castle gates. She sees them as workers, and suppliers and nothing more. Her only weak spot for common folk would be her love of art and literature. “Who doesn’t love a starving artist who is willing to spend hours slaving away over a slab of marble? It’s terribly romantic.”

Isabella had a lovely childhood, growing up in the castle. She was the happiest little girl when her mother became pregnant with her sister. When the baby was born, she came into the world screaming her head off—and didn’t stop for the next 15 years. Bella grew up looking after her sister, and trying her best to teach her how to be a lady of the court. However, looking back on it, Bella sees that it was her little sister was teaching her. Teaching her to not be so uptight, to have fun, to laugh, and maybe… to get a little muddy every now and then.
When Bella turned 19 her father arranged her marriage to an older man in the kingdom. He was filthy rich, and owned the largest ranch around. Although she only met him once, Bella was alright with her duty to her father. He was not the most handsome of men, but he was kind to her. When he was called to war, she even found herself worrying about him. Before he left, he sent his bride-to-be a beautiful white mare. Although it was taboo for women to ride horses, her father consented to letting her keep the beautiful horse and to let her ride. Bella named her, Flame.
A year past, and the relationship between Albelin and Rome proceeded to get worse. Fearing the loss of the war, and more of his soldier’s lives, her father made a deal with the neighboring kingdom: his youngest daughter, to be wed to their oldest son. Isabella was happy for her sister, but a part of her was deeply worried. Her sister was like a rare stallion; beautiful but untamable. Wild, and free even in a cage. Winter fell over the kingdom, and with the first snow arrived the royal court of Rome and a letter that would destroy her future. Her betrothed have been killed in the war, two months ago. Her father was caught in a tight spot. On one hand, his eldest daughter was no longer engaged, and on the other, he had already promised his youngest away to the neighboring kingdom. He couldn’t back out of his word, but his eldest daughter would be shamed if her younger sister were married before her. With the threat of becoming an old spinster hanging over her head, Isabella tries to stay happy for her younger sister. When the prince asks for her help to learn more about her wildflower sister, Bella agrees.
