A bit of History
Eyra can still faintly remember the strong smell of the Ionian Sea, one close to her native land Greece. While she won't directly speak of how old she is or anything concerning her past, there are always rumors circulating around the circus on where exactly she came from, and when she joined. Whenever someone speaks whispers of her history, her face will often become tangled with both curiosity and amusement. While talking about her, few can notice she may occasionally sneak a peek at wherever Zalvema may be and send a small smile her way. Zuzu was after all her savior of sorts. Friends and foes alike in the camp say Eyra suffered quite a bit of abuse when she was younger, by both family and those her family considered "friends". Both her body, mind, and spirit were effected deeply during her childhood, so much she became introverted and even mute for a time. It's perhaps during that time in her life where she noticed her strange gift of connecting so well with insects and creatures other found repulsive. Point being, she is extremely dedicated to the ring mistress, almost to the point of seeing her as a role model.Whether or not these rumors are true or false, most people can't say for sure. Eyra, when asked about it, merely shrugs her petite shoulders back and gives a "who knows" expression.
Act: Eyra is entertainer, but not the type most would peg her as being. She's cute, tiny, and flexible enough that people would assume she's just another one of the acrobats the circus employs. At least they think that until they see Buttons. The most darling tarantula the world has ever seen is Eyra's most precious companion. A stunning shade of blue with several black markings criss crossing over her plump body, she is both terrifying and exciting. While Eyra's menagerie consists of many types of insects, she is more known for using Buttons in most of her acts. The tarantula will often be the main performer in many of them, seeing as people tend to keep their eyes on her more than on Eyra herself. The general discomfort and amazement that circles the room whenever Eyra and Buttons perform is something of a drug to the girl. Much like a burst of adrenaline, whenever she receives applause for doing something particularly daring [i.e allowing Buttons to "play" with the crowd] she feels the need to do something even more outrageous, just to keep them entranced by her
Nicknames off stage: Her fellow freaks and friends usually stick to calling her Eyra, unless they've developed some sort of nickname for her.
Birthday: April 24. She looks to be rather young though, maybe even fifteen or so. Of course she's looked that way for some time now, years in fact.
Appearance: A slender and fragile girl with tiny curves that give her the appearance of someone "cute" rather than sexy. Not very tall, only measuring up to 5'2 from the last time she remembered. She has no muscles and is extremely breakable, which doesn't help the fact she's quite clumsy as well as one might see by all the bruises scattered around her body that she gets from falling, bumping, and tripping . Her main feature is probably her plump lips and bright blue eyes that contrast well with her dark hair and pale skin. Very rarely is her bushy brown hair allowed out of it's cage, usually tightly held up in a pony tail or braid. Sometimes she'll ask one of the other girls, or Zuzu to do her hair for her, only because it frustrates her too much to take the time to straighten it and do it herself. Seeing as she will usually be standing on her head or doing any other sort of acrobatic maneuver with Buttons or her other creepy crawlies, Eyra's usually fond of wearing pants and shorts. She does like dresses and skirts but for one reason or another she finds that they really don't suit her or her personality very much. It's much the same for heels, but pushes that aside simply because they make her look a bit taller then she really is.
Personality: Like a typical Taurus, Eyra is a follower and not a leader. She is one of the followers who strengthens the group as a whole with her loyalty, persistence, and eager to please attitude. While she's an extremely stubborn individual, her stubbornness is something that pays off almost as much as it gets her into trouble both on the stage and off. She's made quite a few friends around the world, most likely because she enjoys walking up to strangers and starting conversations with them. A people person to the core, and a generally happy person. Like most people she has her flaws, such as her laziness on Sundays, her disdain for people who kill spiders instead of letting them go, and her over sensitivity when it comes to people critiquing her acts. She will be a friend to any, and a foe to those who hurt the people she cares about. She may be small, but both her bark and her bite can still be quite ferocious.
Relations:
Zuzu:Eyra places Zalvema on a pedestal beyond all others. While she knows the troupe leader is no angel, she tends to look past that almost to the point of disbelieving she could be capable of such bad things. Some people could go as far as calling Eyra naive for acting that way, but she find her relationship with Zuzu to be of no concern to others.
Theo: Having no siblings of her own, Eyra had never known how lovely and annoying a friend Theo could be. The lion himself never frightened her during her stay with the circus, and almost instantly she felt a connection to him as one might feel to an older brother. They enjoy friendly bickering, occasionally riling each other up, and teasing the other member's of their little group together. She affectionately refers to him either as Fluffy or Hairball depending on her mood and the situation. She has no problem sending him a pinch, poke, or even attempting to tackle him if he starts teasing her too much. She's left a couple "surprises" for him on more then one occasion in his bed as a prank. He wasn't too happy. Despite all this, the tiny girl is quite protective of the over-grown kitten .
Deliah: She considers Lilah to be one of the kindest and goodhearted people she's met. While not saying it out loud to anyone, she wishes she had a mother like Deliah. Despite being however old Eyra is, inside she still occasionally feels like a child. She only wants to grow closer with her, and to gain her approval along with Zuzu's.
Olaf and Oleg To put it frankly, they scare the shit out of her. Occasionally she'll catch Twiddle-Dee or Twiddle-Dum as she refers to them, looking over at her and a shiver down her spine always accompanies the look. She's only seen their shows a few times, and every time she's regretted it. Stabbing each other and...and the shedding! Only so much her stomach can handle.
Valentine: Considers him to be both freaky and attractive. A pretty good combination, but she wouldn't go after him or anything of the sort. Still, he's a decent guy in her opinion .
Eenie meanie miny moe: Given the nickname by Eyra herself, she's always had a soft spot for the old man. Ghost or not, he's on of the more interesting folks at the carnival, despite his lack of talents. Whenever she's alone and feels the need for a bit of conversation, the old gent always seems to come around.
Xavier When her own acts aren't taking place, Eyra always finds the time to go and watch Xavier's shows. Surprises are something he's full of and that's always a plus in Eyra's book. He also enjoy chatting as much as she does, and never gets mad when she goes on and on about anything on her mind. She usually refers to him as Xavy.
