Scarlet cocked her head to the side. "But he was trying to help. You cant say this is his fault. You wanted it, you knew it might not work. Unless he forced you to do this." she said with a small yawn. Scarlet curled up and closed her eyes, still listening. She was just tired, but not tired enough to go to sleep.

"It doesn't matter what he's done before." Pike growled--to himself mostly. What an absurd group he was fraternizing with, a bloodthirsty demon, and an appearantly disinterested werewolf. And then there was himself, the lynx-shifting criminal. "Ivon's rounded up too many of my friends to just let him get away with it." And it was true, Ivon deserved all the fires of hell, and Pike was going to deliver it to him. "So are we agreed? We are going to the capital city. My talents could prove particularly useful to our goal. We don't have to fight every guard to get in, and I think I know a way to keep well-hidden. But we have to get there first," his voice was sober, quiet. Pike had no idea who, or what, could have been listening--but he was about to find out.

The next rooftop was relatively close, and from across the distance the dark-cloaked figure sat, listening to their every word with keen and malicious hearing. Then from his crouched position he dug his hobnail boots into the edge of the building and launched himself across the span between the buildings, a distance no human could cross, and slammed into the frame of the window, breaking the glass with the force of his landing.

Pike spun around to face the figure, and then his eyes darted to his spear sitting across the room where he couldn't get to it in time. Twisting his hips on the surface of the bed, he thew a sideways kick at the figure--who caught it, and drew a jagged knife and plunged it downward. But the blade missed its mark and cut into the bed instead.

Ariye looked at Scarlet and said: "My parents forced me to change. The transformation suppressed some demonic traits. These traits are claws, horns, inhuman strength and the hunger..." Ariye started sniffing: "f...for humans." Someone jumped into the room and Pike tried to kick the person but his foot was caught. The figure tried to stab Pikes leg but missed. Ariyes horns grew longer and she revealed her razor sharp teeth smiling: "That sweet smell of blood and flesh." Ariye became terrifying. "I need to fight... the hunger... to... protect my... new friends." She said but then Ariye let the hunger take control. She attacked the cloaked figure and bit into his shoulder. The figure screamed and punched Ariye away.

Scarlet's head jerked up as something crashed into the room. She growled seeing someone in a a black cloak, her tail raised. Suddenly the room got cold, as ice started to form around the feet of whoever it was. It traveled up his legs, making him stuck in his place. She had no idea how powerful this person or thing could be but at least the ice can hold him down for a few minutes or seconds. Whichever worked. A spear made out of ice, formed in the air, and struck through the stomach of the cloaked being.

Pike climbed out of the way as Ariye went on the offensive, when she was swatted off he caught her shoulder to keep her from tumbling into the wall. He watched the ice forming, crawling up the other figure, and shot a glance to Scarlet, had she been responsible? "What power..." he trailed, and when an ice spear shot through its stomach, and the black figure groaned, dying, Pike climbed back up to it, and pulled his hood off. When he did, there was nothing in the creature's skin, and the body crumpled up over the ice, which now became its ownly frame. "A shade," he muttered. "I didn't know our friend Ivon was summoning black creatures to his aide."

"What? No human? But he smelled so human! I am hungry." Ariye said drooling and thinking of prey to eat. "Ivon will pay!" She said while balling her fists. Her pale skin began to turn back to its tan while she was aggressive. "So are we leaving tomorrow?" Ariye asked.

Scarlet letted out a small sigh. "Shade? What's that?" she asked looking over at Pike. For some reason, she felt proud of killing that thing, but at the same time tired. "Why is Ivon attacking us? What did we do wrong?" she asked jumping down the bed and sniffed the cloak. Scarlet made a face before trotting over to Pike and sitting down besides him, waiting for an answer.

"A shade is something like a conjured shadow. Ivon must have a magician of some kind working under him, to have summoned this creature from so far away. And we haven't done anything Scarlet--Ivon's scared of what we *will* do." Pike cracked his neck, and pushed the bundle of clothes out the window before retrieving his own pack. "I'm afraid we don't have the time to wait around here Ayire." He shook his head sullenly and slung his bag over his shoulder, taking up his polearm and stepped up to the window, climbing over the bed with his shoes on, tracking dirt across it. "We'll have to take the 'private route' out of here. It seems as though we can't trust the innkeepers." As he stood in the windowsill he gave Ayire a stern look, "Will you be able to control yourself.. just until we're out of town?"

Pike explained to Scarlet what a shade was, then told Ariye that they shouldnt waste time and asked her if she could control herself until they were out of town. "Yes, I can control myself until we are out of town. The closer I get to my old form, the better I can control the hunger. I will be able to control myself as long as Ivon doesnt show up on the way, otherwise I would either tear his limbs off and then bite his head off or reduce him to ash." Ariye said.
