Introduction
In the year of 2020, scientists embarked on a quest to open a portal to another world. They believed that if they were able to go to space and travel to other planets, they figured a portal to another world could be created. So they came up with a plan and presented it to the head of the research department. A bit reluctant at first, their benefactors wondered what was in it for them, but decided to humor the scientists and gave in. If anything, it was for the sake of research and the scientists had never failed them before so they were fairly confident that something would be produced.
21st of April- Project: TAW (To Another World), as it was dubbed, was approved and publicized.
When word got out of this project, people’s reactions varied from excitement, indifference, disgust, etc. Thus, material production began in the world’s four major cities: Hamel, Crynas, Sol, and Soleil. The moment the scientists sent lists of what was needed, the factories immediately set off to work. Smoke danced into the sky and everyone knew that Project: TAW finally commenced. What wasn’t taken into mind was that this very project would lead to something dark and sinister…
Some time passed and no progress was made. For some reason, the materials supplied would fail because they were either frail or unsuitable for the job. Frustrated that they were getting nowhere, the scientists ordered the factories to come up with a stronger/different material. Due to the fact these factories were constantly in motion and the smoke pouring out of them was quite excessive, the Ozone layer in that part of the world was becoming severely damaged. Naturally, those who protected/preserved the environment became upset and demanded that the scientists either stop this money consuming project or use something more environment friendly.
In order to continue having the support of the people and funds from the scientists, the workers in these factories had no choice but to come up with something entirely new. Promising that they would have the material created within a month’s time, they immediately set off to work…
21st of May- Zephyrus Metal comes into existence.
A month passed by and on a cloudy day, the gray fumes escaping the industrial units slowly became tinted a dark blue. True to their word, the factories were able to create something incredible and innovative, Zephyrus Metal. Blue in color and varying in shape and size, Zephyrus Metal became the best discovery of the year. The scientists were excited and went to test this product out, pleased with the results. It lasted longer than any other metal or steel that was used and was surprisingly easy to work with.
The scientists weren’t the only ones pleased with this discovery though.
The environmentalists found that ever since Zephyrus Metal was brought into existence, the fumes escaping into the air had repaired the holes in the Ozone layer and made it seem as if nothing had ever happened. Everything was going great until a few days later…when the sun came out from its hiding place in the clouds to shine brightly upon everyone.
4th of May- The Attack.
When the clouds cleared up and the sun’s ray stretched out upon the land, something strange happened. People’s shadows detached themselves from the person and took on a shape of their own, becoming solid, as if they were human themselves. At first, people were stunned and merely stood there, obviously confused of what was occurring. They never knew what hit them. Suddenly, a person fell to the floor, dead. Chaos ensued and the massacre began. Some tried to fight back… only to end up killing themselves in the end. Screams resounded throughout the area, followed by screeches from the shadows.
Darkness falls…
6th of May- The Journey.
Two days after this bone-chilling event occurred, some survivors crossed each other’s paths by chance and got together, believing that it was safer to be in a group than on their own. After a brief session of argument and discussion, they decided to go out in search of some answers and hopefully, a solution to this whole nightmare.
Only time will tell how things will play out…
Extra (but noteworthy stuff):
- For some reason, ever since the rays of the sun hit these four major cities (and some of the towns nearby) no one has been able to go to other cities outside these four. Many have tried to leave only to be drawn/forcibly pulled back in.
- If one attempts to assault their own shadow or someone else’s, they only end up doing more damage instead of good, harming themselves/the other person instead of the shadow.
- The only time one is actually “safe” is whenever it is night or it is a cloudy/rainy day.
- Because it would be very complicated if everyone starts off in a different city, the starting place in this roleplay will be Hamel.
- In times like these, it won’t be too surprising if someone gets killed, so you can make up another character. Just don’t go overboard when it comes to killing off your characters. Also, if you don't want to kill off your character, that's fine too. Just throwing this out there...
- Your person is only human so naturally, fatigue, hunger, etc. will be felt. Keep that in mind!

Collectibles
