Lost in a world of darkness
Veronica can easily be classified as bipolar. On one hand, she can be very sociable and she has the ability to light up a room with her personality. On the other hand, she can be moody, pessimistic, and excludes herself from her friends on a bad day. She is generally honest and she always sticks up for her closest friends and family, despite the turmoil of everyday life. Her biggest insecurity is probably her severe asthma, but she is becoming more accepting of herself and her condition.
She wasn't at all prepared because she was just heading home from class on the local subway. The only defense mechanism she has with her is a pocket knife and a tiny bottle of mace.
Veronica comes from a broken family that appears picture perfect on the outside. Her mother was a paranoid schizophrenic, and due to her mother's condition she was forced to move a lot between her father and relatives. She is grateful for the support of her close friends and her cousins. She is a freshmen at Heartland Community College and lives in an apartment with her best friends in the suburbs.
