Theodore Moon, for lack of a better phrase, is nothing short of an enigma. In complete contrast to his older sister who wore her heart on her sleeve, Theo’s emotions were always shrouded behind dark eyes that sometimes felt deeper than the darkest depths of the ocean. He often found himself alone as a child, though not for lack of love and attention. Even someone as heavily guarded as he could admit that his family loved him. More than with words, their actions always showed Theo they cared. However, they too struggled to understand him. Theo was not a shy child, despite what those around him believed. If and when needed, he would speak his mind with brutal honesty. He’d never been one to sugar coat. Simply put, he was a boy of few emotions, and even fewer words.

However, as he grew, so did his spectrum of emotions. Still, he became inexplicably talented at keeping said emotions hidden while simultaneously maintaining his curt way of speaking. With every passing birthday, Theo became more and more difficult to read for those around him. It didn’t take long for him to be pegged as a “callous” and “judgmental” young man. Though not the full truth, these statements aren’t false either. Perhaps it’s due to growing up in a mafia family, but Theo has become a bit aloof and distant with most people he meets. It’s not that he dislikes strangers, though he does find it very difficult to trust newcomers. It’s more so that he doesn’t feel anything towards them. Neither hate nor love, like or dislike. Indifference is typically what those that are meeting him for the first time are met with. Naturally, it makes him come across as distant and unapproachable, and for those that spend enough time around him, intimidating and judgmental. Again, though not the complete spectrum of what makes Theodore, these assumptions are not too far off. Theo enjoys his distance, refusing to get close to anyone that isn’t a family member or long-term family friend. He is undeniably judgmental, capable of tearing someone down with a single look. He prefers to be alone, and so he finds it bothersome when he’s approached for anything other than business. He doesn’t care to make friends. Truthfully, he only cares to protect those he already has.

With that being said, Theo is not heartless nor uncaring. Loyalty to family is something Theo has believed in his entire life. His actions speak volumes, and though he may not verbally affirm his love for someone, his actions will speak for him. Should you have the pleasure of being accepted into his very small circle, Theodore will protect you, tooth and nail. He will unflinchingly put his life on the line for the select few he considers irreplaceable. There lies the biggest misconceptions about the young man. He is not shy and quiet, he is observant and calculated. He is not antisocial and unfriendly, he is extremely selective with who he spends his energy on. He is not uncaring and heartless, he is exclusive and saves his love and loyalty for those that earn it.

ImageCaesar Moon has always been the picture perfect Mafia boss. Careful and calculated, dependable, intelligent, charisma dripping from his every word, and most of all, loyal to all of his family. Of course, his immediate family always came first. Before being a leader, he was a father and husband. Always making sure his family had everything they needed and then some. The moment he met Irene Song, a Seoul born beauty living in London, he immediately knew he wanted to marry her. The two hit it off while in their early twenties, and as soon as Irene graduated from the University of London, Caesar planned his proposal. He shared the details of his family business with her, but made it clear that he would be willing to leave it all behind if she asked. Irene, being on her own with no family to depend on or report to, found acceptance within Caesar’s. Though she knew a lot of what they did was outside the borders of legal, she didn’t see them to be bad people. In fact, Caesar was by far one of the best people she’d ever met. She vowed to be loyal to him, and by extension, his family who had now taken her in as one of their own.

The two were happily married for three years before they had their first child, Katerina Moon. She was their princess. Everything they did revolved around her care, which is why they decided to move to Singapore where Caesar’s parents lived. Because of their line of business, being close to Caesar’s father, the boss himself, was the safest for the married couple and their little princess. His watchful eye kept them safe. About four years later, they had their second child. Theodore was a surprise for the couple, but a welcomed one nonetheless. Just like with Katerina, Theodore was loved and protected by everyone around him. The two children were polar opposites, and though Caesar always planned on allowing both of them to make their own choice on whether they’d join the business or not, the man always joked about how Theodore would become a boss so powerful he’d surpass every boss before him.

As Katerina and Theodore grew older, not only did their personalities solidify, but so did their views on the Mafia. Katerina early on made it clear that though she loved them, she wanted no part of the family business. Meanwhile Theodore became more and more like his grandfather with every passing day. One rainy Sunday night, the four of them were enjoying a family night at home when they got a call. Caesar’s father was in the hospital, hanging on by a thin thread, after being struck by a sudden heart attack. Doctors soon after speculated that he’d been dealing with a heart condition in secrecy, never truly getting the medical attention he needed. He passed away that same night, and everything fell into chaos. As soon as word got out that the boss was dead, it was an all out battle of powers. Amidst the war and mayhem, Irene found herself taken hostage by the Di Dio family, a rival mob that had been itching to overthrow the Moon Dynasty. Though Caesar did everything in his power to get her back safely, he was unsuccessful.

After Irene’s death, Katerina began to distance herself from her father and brother, and as soon as she was old enough, she moved back to London on her own. That left Theodore with only his father while the man struggled to raise his son and take over his own father’s responsibilities. Theodore saw how hard his father tried to be everything he needed while simultaneously being the fearless leader the family needed. At fifteen, Theodore had already made the decision to join his father and help him lead the dynasty in any way he could. Though he wanted to give his all to the Mafia, his father insisted he at least finish school. Theodore obliged and graduated from high school in Singapore. Very soon after, the pair uprooted the main core of the family and moved to the United States. Their chain of restaurant ventures landed them in Boston, where Theodore decided to continue his education as an international relations student, something that would aid both their organized crime and their cover up, the chain of Korean food restaurants.

It didn’t take long for Theodore to be promoted to underboss. Though some within the family were skeptical, chalking his promotion up to it being simply because he was the boss’ son, the young man quickly proved them wrong. Theodore Moon was born to be a leader, steadily earning the respect of those around him. Much like his father, he was brilliant, brave, and loyal to those he trusted. Though Boston was a bit more wild than Theodore was used to, he soon called it his home.

.IMPORTANT PEOPLE.

Caesar Moon | Father | Living | Theo and his father have a great relationship. Despite being the head boss, Caesar trusts Theodore's judgement when it comes to Moon Dynasty matters, and has made it very clear that everyone is to answer to Theo, and Theo only answers to him.

Irene Song | Mother | Deceased | Theo and his mother also had a very close relationship, despite Theo being a quiet child. He always felt like he could run to his mom anytime he needed help. She was a kind soul, and her death left Theodore with a hole in his heart that he's never quite been able to fill.

Katerina "Kat" Moon | Sister | Living | Though Katerina distanced herself from the Mafia, she didn't cut all ties with Theo. She still finds it difficult to speak to their father, but the siblings stay in frequent contact. Despite being in entirely different continents, Theodore always checks up on his older sister and makes sure she is doing okay.

Beah Montgomery | Girlfriend | Living | If you ask both Theo and Beah, they are merely friends with benefits. However, Beah's father makes sure the Moon Dynasty have pollical and commercial backing. In a way, he oversees the line of Shangri La restaurants and makes sure everything is clean and free of suspicious activity. So, in order to please Beah's father, the two play along as a loving couple despite neither one of them truly having romantic feelings for the other.

Salvador Olivera | Best friend, right hand man | Living | Salvi, as Theo affectionately calls him, is Theodore's most trusted friend. The two hit it off the moment they met and became fast friends. In a world filled with deception and distrust, Theodore trusts Salvi with his life and visa versa. The two share a brotherly bond that puts them far being being boss and his subordinate. Theo trusts and even depends on Salvi for many things.

Jake Aiden | Best Friend, Salvi's right hand man | Living | Jake is also one of Theo's few trusted, close friends. Unlike his relationship with Salvi, Theo does not depend on Jake. Not because he doesn't trust him, in fact he trusts Jake just as much as Salvi. The difference is Theo is very protective over Jake. Despite being a few years older than Theo, he's seen as the dynasty's little brother.

So begins...

Self restraint was not something Theo had ever struggled with. Being a significant part of one of the most wanted groups of people in the nation had trained him to give up a lot of things that came with the normal life of a 21 year old collage student. While his classmates were out painting the town red, switching majors, drifting in and out of relationships, Theo was mapping out the smartest way to take control of the town’s mayor and plotting revenge on the ones that hurt his family. The young man was far from ordinary, as was his will power. So why was keeping his hands away from Victor proving to be so difficult.

The blonde admitted to not knowing what he wanted, something that Theo had picked up on long before they’d left their dinner table at the restaurant. The confusion and uncertainty was clear as day on Vic’s face, and if he had to be honest, Theo couldn’t blame him. Even a man of decisions like himself was found searching for the answer. Long term, Theo didn’t know what he wanted to gain from this. Short term, all he wanted was to feel the carvings of Victor’s body under his hands and kiss him until they’re both gasping for air. At one point even that may have been too much to ask, but Theo had not missed the not-so-subtle signs telling him Victor wanted the same. At least for now, in the privacy of his bedroom, they didn’t have to be anything other than attracted to one another. Whatever came next was not important, at least not yet.

Theo took Victor’s statement for what it was, nothing more than a momentary invitation. Admittedly, if it were up to Theo, the two men would not be getting any sleep that night. However, he was not so blinded by lust that he couldn’t see the nerves emanating from Victor as he spoke. If a kiss is all he wanted, that’s what he would get. The silence that engulfed the room as Theo took Victor’s hands in his own didn’t feel awkward, but instead was comforting. Theo moved the man’s arms around his own waist, only then letting go of the hands, bringing his own arms to rest over Victor’s shoulders. The silent permission for Vic to roam his body at will. He inched his own body closer, soft lips only inches away from Vic’s.

”Well then, I’m all yours.” Theo’s eyes scanned Victor’s features for any signs of fear. It was an emotion that the young boss typically aimed to evoke from his enemies, but Vic was not the enemy, and fear had no place within their intimacy. Respect was all Theo needed, and that was a two way street. To be respected, he had to give respect first, starting with Victor’s body. The ball was in his court now, and Theo would only go as far as Victor wanted him to go. The grin lingering on Theo’s lips had now faded into a more serious expression, dark eyes softening ever so slightly in order for Victor to find comfort within them. His voice lowered, settling into a velvet finish. ”You’ve got me all night.”

Giving in to his attraction was much easier than trying to figure this out. He'd never expected to see this side of Theo, but he was sure of one thing: he was going to cling onto this version of Theo for as long as he was allowed to. The way that he could take control, while showing a surprising softness for someone with his profession, Victor was at a loss for words at the moment.

His eyes drew down as Theo's hands took his arms, wrapping them around Theo's waist as Theo's own arms snake around his shoulders. The way Theo looked at him, the seriousness in those dark, usually unreadable eyes, it brought a sense of comfort when fear would usually be in its place. All mine?

"Is that a promise?" Victor's lips turned up into a smile as he closes the distance between their lips. Kissing Theo was addicting, he only wanted more. His arms tightened around Theo's waist, bringing the other man's body closer to his. The warmth he felt radiating from Theo's body tangled with his own and he didn't want to let go, taking the chance and letting one of his hands thread into the back of Theo's soft, downy hair.

It was a dangerous feeling, like this wasn't his boss but just a pretty man that he could kiss all night. If he wasn't careful, he would let his attraction take control and end up going too far. He wanted this, more than he'd ever wanted to hook up with someone, but he was aware enough that this could change the dynamic completely - and he had to see Theo every day. It was difficult to keep his brain from going on auto-pilot and take advantage of all this bare, beautiful skin in front of him. The night was less talking and more kissing at that point. There was nothing he could say at this point that wouldn't sound naĂŻve or totally out of place, so he decided to kiss again, as much as his lungs would allow, until they both finally fell asleep in the boss' arms.

Victor was awoken by nothing in particular. He couldn't really remember the dream he was having, he was just brought into consciousness again in the unfamiliar room. As he blinked more awake, the room became less unfamiliar, and the memories of the night shifted back into place, along with the body that was wrapped behind him. He slowly looked over his shoulder and saw that Theo was still asleep, but definitely the person that was spooning him. Theo Moon, his boss.

As his mind shuffled over the first kiss, the shots Theo had taken, seeing Theo shirtless, it set his face ablaze. Here he had been talking to Jake about he wasn't even gay, and here he was after a night of making out with Theo, curled up with him in his bed. The peaceful look on Theo's face was cute, he couldn't deny that, and he wondered if he would get another night like this, even in all of his confusion. The feelings from last night had not dwindled even in his full sobriety, in fact, laying here beside him made them bubble up even more. Victor decided to turn over slowly, his body pressing against Theo's as he musters the courage to look up and brush the hairs away from Theo's face. After a moment, he opens his mouth to speak, and stops, trying to cool his reddened face before waking Theo up. "Theo?" His voice is low, almost a whisper, as he meets Theo's eyes again.

The night both felt like it lasted an eternity, and like it was over in a wink. Theo’s self restraint was put more to the test with every kiss he and Victor shared. He’d allowed his hands to wander, but had to pull back multiple times. Despite not saying anything out loud, Theo could easily tell Victor was out of his comfort zone. Difficult as it may be, Theo did not push it. Then, all at once, exhaustion hit them both. The warmth of the blankets and Victor’s body entangled with his own embraced Theo, lulling him to a peaceful sleep.

It was the first night in a long while that Theo had slept so profoundly. No random waking up, no dreams to recount, just a deep sleep. The first time he opened his eyes, it was to the sound of Victor’s voice. It took a few seconds for the sights and sounds to adjust. He would typically be the first to wake up after spending the night with someone, and more often than not, it was not in his bedroom. This time was different. He felt at peace in his own place, a sleepy smile forming the dips in his cheeks as his eyes met Vic’s own. ”Mornin’ his usually deep set voice fell deeper while dressed in the leftover drowsiness. Deep browns glanced past Victor’s head at the clock beside the bed as he lazily rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

Half past nine, and the boss was still in bed. Surely he had a number of missed calls and unread messages. Part of him knew he should check. At least as a courtesy, to let the family know he was alive and well. But he couldn’t muster up the strength to move from where he lay, comfortably molded to Vic’s body. He set his head back down with a groan, gently resting his chin on Victor’s bed head. His arms tightened ever so slightly around his body. ”Give me a min”

It wasn’t like Theo to procrastinate getting out of bed. Especially when it was already so late. But it was as if all the stress from the past weeks was released from his body within just one night. Funny enough, Theo had tried many methods to relax, never realizing that a night spent in Vic’s company was all he needed. He allowed his eyes to close again, nearly drifting back to sleep, but pulled back by the buzzing sound coming from the nightstand.

A tired sigh left Theo’s body as he reluctantly detached himself from Victor long enough to grab his phone. He answered with a hum, quickly met by Salvi’s boisterous voice. ”T! Jesus Christ I thought you were dead!” Theo couldn’t help but chuckle over his friend’s voiced concern. The call was not on speaker, but surely Salvi was loud enough for even Victor to hear. ”Have you always been this dramatic?” there’s a muttered curse word on the other end, earning another sleepy chuckle from the boss. ”M’alright mate, just knackered.”. The conversation ended with Salvi agreeing to let everyone know he was okay, and to not disturb him for a while.

After setting the phone back down, Theo returned to his previous spot beside Victor, stifling a yawn as his arms embraced the warm body again, ”So much for going back to sleep” Theo knew he should be getting up soon, but he didn’t want to be the one to put an end to whatever this was. Instead, he moved his head to look at Vic, one hand brushing the bangs from his face to reveal the bright eyes looking back at him. ”Hungry?”

Dark brown eyes met Victor’s own again, once Theo woke up to the sound of his own name. His eyes took in all of Theo: the drowsy dimples that graced Theo’s face, that voice deep but still so velveteen even after sleep, and that messy hair that Victor wanted to run his fingers through any chance he was allowed. Victor didn’t say anything in return just yet, still trying to figure out what this was in the light of day. As much as he was confused, he wanted to continue with the freedom to touch Theo as much as he wanted, maybe wanted it more than he did last night. The confusion seemed to dissipate the longer he was with Theo like this. His heart raced as Theo’s arms wrapped tighter around Victor’s body, his head resting on Victor’s head. Theo asked him to give him a minute, but he could have given Theo all morning if he asked. Victor’s body shifted back against Theo, sinking into his hold and indulging in this touch as long as he could. His eyes even flickered shut once again, and the only thing that woke him up was Theo detaching from him.

There was a disappointed feeling as Theo took the phone call. Victor slowly propped himself up on his elbows, running a hand through his hair and looking over at Theo. He didn’t miss Salvi’s voice from the phone freaking out about Theo. It reminded Victor that he’d been ignoring his phone all night in lieu of keeping Theo’s attention. He was about to reach out for his phone - certainly there was a few missed calls from Hector after what happened yesterday - but before he could move over to reach for his phone, Theo returned to his side and wrapped around him again.

Everything about this seemed like it could be so easy. It was so easy to just lean back against Theo and lose himself in this little world with just the two of them. Their eyes met again and Victor barely heard what Theo asked, distracted by the hand brushing Victor’s hair away from his eyes and the soft lips he’d been addicted to all night were too far away for his liking. Instead of answering, he reaches up to cup Theo’s face, leaning in to kiss him gently. He could kiss Theo all day, the way their lips melded together like they were meant for each other. But he pulls back, blushing as their eyes meet again and he finally replies. ”I could eat.” A small grin appears on Victor’s face.

Victor lingered in Theo’s room. Leaving this space would bring a lot of unknowns, mainly if Theo would invite Victor to his side again. Thankfully, there was no awkwardness shared between Theo and Victor this morning, which hopefully meant that Theo didn’t regret what they had done. But, he didn’t have to regret it to keep things platonic, which started to feel like something Victor didn’t want. He wanted the Theo he got last night, wanted more of his attention and his touch and everything that would come with making them into an ‘us’.

Victor finally started to head down from Theo’s room, still in Theo’s sweats from the night before. He took his phone from the nightstand, starting to look through the missed calls and messages as he made his way down the stairs. Before checking Jake’s unread messages, he decides to ask what’s been racing through his head all morning without looking up from his phone, expecting Theo to hear him from the living room. ”So
are we going to do this again or have you had enough of me?” When Victor looked up for an answer, it wasn’t Theo’s eyes that he locked onto, but Jake. ”Jake.” Victor blurts out, his phone dropping from his hand.

The gentle breeze coming through the vent overhead made it that much more difficult for Theo to want to get out of bed. Especially now that he’d touched base with Salvi, who could let everyone else know he was alright, it was so easy to slip back into the comfortable silence of Victors embrace. Even as he assured Theo he had an appetite, there was a part of Theo that wanted to ask for a few more minutes of intimacy. But he couldn’t afford to be selfish. There were people waiting on him to do his job, and asking his father for the day off so he could spend it with his- whatever Vic was at this point in time -would be much too out of character.

He did muster up the will power to push himself out of bed, but not before placing a gentle kiss in response to Vic’s and telling him to go on ahead. He’d decided to quickly wash his face with cold water and brush his teeth, at the very least to aid in waking up. The reflection he saw in the mirror was one he hadn’t seen in years. Rested, calm, a blanket of comfort still draped over him even after leaving the confines of his mattress. All this after a single date, and a night of shared kisses. The thought lazily circled Theo’s mind as he ran his fingers through his unstyled hair, its dark strands lazily parting in the middle. There was so much about the previous night that Theo didn’t understand, something that he typically did not like.

He’d never been interested in relationships. A commitment that required the time and emotional investment that he could not afford to give. Theo was good at many things, including a good sex partner, but a relationship was out of his comfort zone. Try as he may, he’d never been able to picture himself attached to someone far beyond a sexual attraction, and yet the thought of spending cozy nights with Victor, drinking wine and basking in each other’s company
going on dates. The thoughts propelled a quiet sigh from the young man, his hands rustling up the hair he had just brushed into place. It was pointless to think about that now, he’d decided. Not when there were so many other things to worry about.

As Theo stepped out of the bathroom, he caught Victor’s voice from downstairs. As if reading his thoughts, he asked the exact same question Theo had been pondering. Would they be doing this again? His immediate thought was yes, but as he mulled over his answer, Victor’s voice came again, this time with alarm.

Jake? Why was he bringing up Jake? After quickly pulling a plain black t-shirt over his bare torso, Theo stepped towards the stairs to follow Vic. ”Well, well.” Jake’s voice traveled up the stairs as Theo worked his way down, answering the question he didn’t have time to ask. ”I fuckin’ knew it” Jake’s words came with a slight grin, widening the moment Theo came into view. ”Here we were worried you two were in trouble, turns out you were just having sex.” Jake’s jab didn’t come with any malice, and though his assumption was incorrect, Theo didn’t bother to reply. ”You lot always with your dramatics” He shot Victor a mischievous grin, calling out to Jake over his shoulder as he sauntered towards the kitchen. ”Since you’re here, care for some brekkie?”

He could hear Jake snickering behind him like a teenage school girl, but it wasn’t anything that ruffled Theo’s feathers. As far as he was concerned, he would be sleeping with Victor. The specifics of when or where didn’t matter at this moment.

Victor thought he would have more time to figure out things with Theo before anyone in the Dynasty knew. But of course, just his luck that the only person in the Dynasty that knew he has some sort of feelings for Theo - and who he adamantly denied being gay to - walked right through Theo's door and caught him here.

Victor's face went bright red the moment Jake started talking. All of this banter what purely meant for Victor and the conversations he'd had with Jake about not being into Theo, and the fluster only worsened when Jake assumed they had sex. "We didn't have-"
Victor cut off as Theo just grinned and didn't bother to correct Jake. Of course he wouldn't, making Victor blush and get all flustered was Theo's specialty. Instead of joining the two in the kitchen, he scurried up to the bedroom to compose himself- and put a damn shirt on.

He closed the door on Theo's bedroom just for a moment, pressing himself against the door and letting his head fall back. Victor wanted to take his time, figuring things out with Theo alone as they ate breakfast together, but he was thankful that it was Jake rather than... well, really anyone else in the Dynasty. He knew Jake didn't mean anything hurtful by his comments either; if Jake was in his place, he would have made the same comments. Victor grabbed the shirt Theo had offered him last night, laying on the dresser where he'd left it last night, and went over to Theo's bathroom to compose himself. He wasn't used to seeing anyone in such a casual manner, shirtless with his bangs all fluffy and undone. But he hadn't remembered the marks that had been left on his skin from the night before, which he realized that Jake would have seen too. At this point, he couldn't be any more embarrassed, so there was no point in hiding out in Theo's bathroom.

Victor still slowly made his way downstairs, sitting at Theo's kitchen island. It reminded him of the night before, when he'd leaned over the same counter and kissed Theo for the first time. It felt forever ago that they were alone in this kitchen, especially now sitting here with Jake and Theo in broad daylight. "It wasn't sex," He mumbles as he sits next to Jake.

He hadn't even thought about sex with Theo yet. Maybe for a moment last night, which he was still tipsy, but he was too busy thinking about how this would change him to think about going that far with Theo. He could tell that it was on Theo's mind last night, and if they'd gone that far, Victor didn't know how he would be feeling this morning. But right now, he's surprisingly hopeful. His eyes were watching Theo more than Jake, the muscles showing even on the back of his arms and his wisps of hair falling around his eyes. The thought of those muscled arms on his body again was too exciting for a casual morning breakfast, so he forced his thoughts down to his phone instead.

There were plenty of texts from Jake, and even more texts from Hector, asking what happened after he left and what was going on between him and the boss. Spending the night in the boss' bed kissing him was not something he could report to the other officer. Getting into serious or intimate relationships while undercover was a big no, Hector had warned him plenty of times. But he'd already broken that rule with Jake, since they had been close almost from the beginning - after their first interaction when Victor dropped his ego. And after spending the night with Theo, seeing that side of him that cared for Victor and wanted him, he wasn't going to let that go easily.

The dynasty was Theo’s family, that much was clear to him. But just like with any other family, there were members you trusted conditionally and others you’d willingly give your life for and trust that they would do the same. Jake had very quickly become the latter, warming his way into the hearts of many from the moment he arrived. He was never quick to judge, and trusted Theo to make smart decisions. It was mainly for those reasons that the young boss was glad he’d been the one to walk through his front door this morning. Not that he was ashamed to be found with Victor walking around shirtless within the comfort of his loft. He had nothing to hide. There was just something about it being Jake that made the situation easier to navigate.

Try as he may to focus on the breakfast he was cooking up, Theo couldn’t help but overhear the conversation being held behind him. Victor’s rebuttal was quiet, but loud enough for both Theo and Jake to hear. An amused smile graced Theo’s lips for a moment, though unseen by his house guests, as he listened to Victor’s attempt to clarify. Jake huffed, shifting slightly in his chair to face Victor. Theo’s eyes watched them in passing as he moved from one end of the kitchen to the other. He gathered the supplies needed to make his famous espresso, prepping the machine as he listened in silence. ”Mhm..." Jake hummed. Theo could hear his fingers drumming against the countertop. ”So can you still look me in the eyes and tell me you’re not gay?”

Theo’s hand turned the knob on the espresso machine, leaving it to brew as he turned to face the duo. He let his back rest against the counter behind him, arms folded across his chest, one brow lifted in curiosity. ”Oh?” though his questioning statement was directed towards both men, his eyes instinctively looked towards Victor as if asking him to explain.

Thinking back now, Theo had never thought of the possibility that Victor was not interested in men. Nor did he ever ask. As far as he was concerned, if that was the case, Victor would’ve acted very differently around him. From the start, Theo could read Victor like an open book. The signs were all there. He never thought it necessary to ask. However, it was clear to him now that Victor himself had not been as certain. Which led him to wonder if this was the first time he'd done something like this with another man. ”Do tell.” he added. Though his signature smirk lingered on his lips for a moment, Theo was genuinely curious. He had a good idea of how Victor felt about him, but did Victor himself know?

Before either Jake or Vic could answer, the machine behind Theo beeped softly, signaling it was time for the next step. Deciding to leave the subject for a later time, Theo turned away once again as the aroma of the freshly brewed coffee filled the spacious kitchen. The question continued to wind through Theo's thoughts as he went about finishing their breakfast. He had cooked for Jake many times before, but it would be Victor's first time tasting his meals. Growing up, Theo had never had much interest in cooking. He always believed that no matter how much he practiced, his food would never be as flavorful as his mother's. He never imagined one day she wouldn't be around to teach him. Luckily, his sister had picked up on their favorite recipes, and graciously passed them on to Theo as a way of keeping their mother alive.

Over the years, he too learned and created his own recipes. Though short on time, he liked to cook for Salvi and Jake, sometimes even Beah, when he got the chance. Though it may seem insignificant to others, cooking was one of those mundane things that kept Theo sane amongst the never-ending chaos. Once the meal was finished, Theo fixed both Jake and Victor a plate, setting them on the counter in front of them. Jake was the first to take a bite, his eyes closing with a soft hum. "Is there anything you can't do, boss?" His praise was playful, but Theo accepted it nonetheless, setting the accompanying cups of coffee next to each plate. His eyes watched Vic expectantly, that soft shade of pink still adorning his cheeks. Tempted as he may be to return to the previous subject, he kept the silence, allowing Vic to enjoy his breakfast in peace.

Out of all the people that could have walked through that door, it was to Victor's advantage and disadvantage that it was Jake. While Jake was the only person who knew about Victor's growing feelings for their boss, including Theo until the night previous, he was also the one that pushed him to explore that feeling more and admit things about himself that he wasn't ready to admit yet.

Was he even gay? Usually kissing and flirting with a man would suggest that, but before now he hadn't even thought about being with another man. Not as a kid, not as a college student, just now with Theo. The thought had never really occurred to him. Though if he thought about it more... he'd never really had crushes before. Most of the time when he was into a girl, it was more of what they could give to him. Sure, they were pretty, but he'd only pretended to have feelings. He'd never had feelings or a crush, man or woman. He'd only seen men as friends or enemies, never as lovers. None of it ever felt the way it did when he was with Theo. It lit a match in his chest he didn't know was there, and grew brighter the moment Theo's lips touched his.

None of this made sense to Victor, and he didn't want to admit something he wasn't sure of. Jake's comment was about to be met with protests when Theo looked up from the espresso machine, arms folded and asking for clarification. The smirk, it was cute. It didn't match the irritation and embarrassment he used to feel seeing it. It stopped the words in his throat, making his face go red as he looked back down to the counter. "I'm still figuring that out." His voice was quiet and barely audible.

As much as Jake's insistence irritated him, he was helping him understand things he'd never thought to process. If he hadn't been so persistent, listened to Victor as he drunkenly confessed feelings he didn't know he had, Victor wasn't sure if he would have thought about feelings for Theo and flirted with him last night. The smugness was warranted, considering Jake could see it before Victor could, but Victor needed to figure it out for himself. He needed to feel Theo's lips on his own to know how he felt.

Victor looked up at Theo as he placed the food in front of the both of them, and their eyes met. He tried to determine what Theo was feeling but he still couldn't read him, only when Theo wanted him to was he able to find anything. He just wanted to talk, alone.

The meal set in front of him was filled with warm, appetizing aromas. "I didn't take you to be a chef, boss," Victor noted as he took a bite of the food. "And a good one at that," Victor murmured, his face turned to the plate. He'd found himself saying that to Theo plenty of times: unexpected motorcycle, unexpected cooking skills, even the unexpected softness as he found claim to Victor's body and lips. Theo was an enigma from the moment they met, so he only had his assumptions to go off of. He'd studied psychology for years, studied mafia groups even longer, and Theo wasn't like any mafia boss he'd ever studied; only in the field, where he was better than any boss he'd heard of. The cold accuracy of his gun, the words that sliced through his targets like a knife, he was the Lone Wolf that everyone thought he was. And Victor kissed the Lone Wolf, cuddled in his wolf's den like he belonged there.

What did that make him? The helpless deer or another wolf to stand by his side? Only Theo would be able to tell him. And with Jake here, he wasn't sure if he'd get an honest answer right now. They needed to be alone, otherwise he wouldn't get the same Theo that he got last night. Although he couldn't read Theo well, he had a feeling that the Theo he was shown last night was just for him.

Even in all his false confidence, at least when facing this situation, Theo had to admit that hearing Victor vocalize his uncertainty was a bit of a relief. It wasn’t unexpected, but appreciated nonetheless. It had been vividly clear to Theo that there was an internal struggle within Victor, even as he boldly made the first move. But it never occurred to him that said struggle was less about whether he should be getting so close to the boss and more about the fact that Theo was a man. The twenty-one year old had always been so certain about his own sexuality, wants and preferences that the idea of Victor not being so never crossed his mind, especially with his being older than Theo. In retrospect, it made perfect sense, and was almost comical how Theo had flirted with him just to get a reaction.

Silence filled the spacious kitchen along with the food’s aroma as the two men focused solely on the plate in front of them. There was something so satisfying about watching others enjoy something he made. For all the cruelly calculated things Theo had done in the past and present to his enemies, there was an inexplicable softness when it came to his friends and loved ones, almost as if Theodore Moon, the underboss of one of the most powerful underground organizations in the country and Theo, the young collage student, were two completely different people. But he was just as much a cunning mafia boss as he was a friend and a caregiver. One could not exist without the other, and those around him understood this. He could only hope that Victor did too.

There was minimal chatter after Theo fixed himself a plate and ate alongside Vic and Jake, the ladder going for his second helping while Theo silently enjoyed their company. Theo was the first to break the silence, raising his spoon towards an unsuspecting Jake. The man’s eyes grew with curiosity as Theo spoke. ”I gave you that code for emergencies, not for muckin’ about” Jake’s brows furrowed in response as he set down his own utensils, an unusual seriousness casting over his features. ”Surely you realize there’s a lot of people in this country that want you dead
” the tone was one Theo had seldom heard come from Jake. He was aware, and always cautious, but so were those around him. Jake especially had gotten a personal taste of what being too close to the boss could cost. The thought caused Theo to glance in Victor’s direction for a brief moment, before directing his attention back to Jake. ”You weren’t answering your calls
neither was Vic. We were all just assuming the worst.”

The usually jovial deep browns were shadowed with uncertainty, and Theo couldn’t help but feel a tinge of guilt for making his family worry. His gaze dropped to his nearly empty plate for a moment before meeting Jake again, ”If you go down, we all go with you.” There was a short pause in conversation, the silence reminding Theo that despite being at the top, he was still the youngest in the room. It almost felt like a scolding from an older brother. The corners of his mouth lifted, not in its usual smirk, but rather a smile of reassurance. ”Yes, hyung, I understand” the sudden switch to Korean earned an eye roll from the older man but he returned the smile, gently nudging Victor in the arm. ”Take a good look, Vic. This is what you’ll be dealing with if you get any closer” Theo casually brushed off the comment as he grabbed his own plate and moved to the dishwasher. The thought of Victor getting that close was both exciting and concerning. After the conversation they’d just had, the fear of Victor getting hurt because of him would now be a permanent thought in the back of his mind.

”Oh, you might want to give Beah a call. She was asking about your birthday plans.” a groan left Theo’s body at the sound of the word “birthday”. He’d never been a fan of celebrating birthdays, especially his own. When he turned twenty one, everyone around him made such a big fuss. This year he just wanted peace and quiet.

Even after the initial embarrassment, Victor settled into a more comfortable demeanor once they were all eating together. Surely Jake could keep a secret, if only for Victor’s sake. He honestly didn’t know how Theo wanted to do this, but after the way he acted when Jake saw the marks and Victor walking from Theo’s bedroom in Theo’s clothing, he wasn’t sure if Theo would act that way with the others or only did so because Jake was close with the both of them. This was information he would prefer most of the other men didn’t know about, especially Salvi. While they managed civility on most days, there was no way Salvi would be okay with Victor getting close to the boss; neither would Hector, so if he had his way, neither of the men would find out.

As Victor was trying to figure out what Theo meant by Jake ‘mucking about’, his eyes met Theo’s for just a moment and he realized there was a whole other side to this he hadn’t thought about. ”Take a good look Vic, this is what you’ll be dealing with if you get any closer.” It wasn’t just Theo’s eccentricities, or trying to keep certain people in the dark about any potential relationship. If any of Theo’s enemies found out about Victor’s closeness with the Dynasty boss, he would get an even bigger target on his back. Victor had already seen what they would do to someone who was Theo’s friend, he could only imagine how much worse they would be if he was Theo’s boyfriend; that was if he wanted to be Theo’s boyfriend, or if Theo would even ask. He still didn’t know what he would be to Theo.

Victor perked back up when the conversation turned to a birthday party. ”I didn’t know your birthday was coming up,” Victor says as Theo started to groan. Victor had always been a big fan of birthdays, any excuse to celebrate and get away from the stress of normal life was something Victor never took for granted. Considering most of his life his father was solely focused on his career and the Di Dios, birthdays and parties were the few times he was free from his father’s overbearing attention and allowed to be a normal guy.

After a moment, Victor sighed and ran a hand through his hair, mustering up the courage to ask Jake, ”Now that you know we’re both not dead, can Theo and I
have a moment alone? Please?” Victor’s cheeks still went red but he needed to be alone with Theo and figure out what they were doing. He needed an idea of Theo’s expectations of him before he went in too deep and got hurt in the process. If he was going to let this romantic endeavor continue with Theo, he had to find a way to unlatch from his other life. The part of Victor thay knew this would only end in pain once his real life came to light was pushed behind a delusion that Victor could keep up this facade. At the very least, he wanted more time alone with Theo Moon, to see the side of him that was just shown to Victor last night.

Amidst all the chaos and thirst for revenge against the men who hurt Jake, Theo had forgotten how nice it felt to just be. Even if Jake was scolding him for worrying them, it all felt so calm. Now that Jake knew both he and Vic were okay, Theo could take a bit more time before going back into base. Judging from his words, Victor had been thinking the same thing. Theo could only imagine what Vic would want to talk to him about in private, and if he was being honest, it made him a bit nervous. Having to admit to feelings that he was unsure of was one thing, but now that the thought of Victor getting hurt because of him had been planted in his mind, it would be the only thing he could think about. That alone spoke volumes about how important Vic had become in his life, which only fueled his worries.

”Alright, alright. I get it, I’m leaving.” Jake’s tone was playful as he lifted his hands up in defeat. He collected his keys and phone, shoving both into his pockets, before taking the last sip of his coffee. ”But you lovebirds better be at work soon, we got shit to do.” He added, directed more towards Vic than Theo. Of course Theo had to counter. ”Remind me again, who’s the boss here, mate?” Jake stifled a chuckle, gently ruffling Victor’s hair on the way out. ”Let me know if you need me”.

Silence fell over the room after Jake closed the door behind him. Even from afar, Theo could tell Victor was nervous. In a way, so was he. Although nervous may not have been the best word for it. It was more of an anxious feeling of not knowing what would come next. Theo never made moves that he did not know the outcome of, nor did he ever act on impulse. Thinking back to the night before, hell even days prior, that’s exactly what he’d done. Starting from the moment he offered to take Victor on a date. Because as much as Victor may have thought he was bluffing, it was never a joke to Theo. He’d fully planned on going through with his offer. He even had a loose idea of what he wanted to gain out of it. But that quickly changed the moment he’d sat across the table from Vic, with his messy hair and a look of both awe and confusion mixed into his pretty features. There was no denying it, Theo had a crush on Victor. He’d had plenty of those before to know exactly what they felt like, most of them evaporating within a few weeks. That’s what he expected from this, even if deep down his common sense kept telling him that what he felt for Victor was deeper than a fleeting interest.

”Alright, I’m all yours.” he stated, elbows resting on the counter as he leaned forward. The scene mimicked the night before, right before Victor kissed him. Theo allowed lust to momentarily take over, his eyes drifting down to Victor’s lips before moving back up to catch his gaze. There were things that could not be solved or ignored by covering them up with kisses, no matter how much Theo wanted it to. But Victor had been the one to ask Jake to give them some privacy, which meant that Theo had the advantage. Depending on what Vic said next, Theo would decide what to respond.
