~History~
Rachel's early life remains a complete mystery to her. This is because her mother has kept it a secret from her and others for years. Long ago, Rachel Corona was born to the mayor of the town and his beautiful wife. An evil woman filled with hatred towards the politician kidnapped the infant girl in the middle of the night while the parents were asleep. In the morning, the Coronas stood shocked as the cradle where their baby girl slept was empty. For many years, the mayor and his wife searched for their lost daughter. They recruited a variety of skilled people to help them in the search, but unfortunately they had no luck. The Coronas lived in solitude for many somber and lonely years...
In the meantime, the woman who had kidnapped Rachel made no haste in hiding from the law. She disguised herself, and found a small, victorian-like house partially covered in vines and surrounded by lush forest. The woman patched up and refurnished the rickety building. Later, she picked out the tallest tree around the property, and built a tree house. She placed Rachel in this wooden structure, raising her there and forbidding her from leaving it. Since then, Rachel has still been forced to stay in the tree house the woman made for her. Every day, her "mother" comes out of the mansion, enters the tree house, and offers her daughter fresh supplies. In return, Rachel sings for her and lets her mother braid her golden hair. This has now become a daily routine for the 15-year-old, and living life in her "tower" has changed from being quite strange to a positively normal experience in just a few years. The woman who Rachel believes to be her maternal mother only lets her come out of her living space when she attends school for the day at Fairytale Academy. After she receives her education for the day, her mother drives her straight back home, despite the fact that the academy is a boarding school. Rachel has asked her mother dozens of times why she isn't allowed outside her tower or the property where the mansion stands. Her mother claims that it is for safety reasons, and explains to Rachel that she wants to shield her from the cruel and harsh realities of the outside world.
*Personality*
Rachel can undoubtedly, wholeheartedly and completely be described in one nine letter word....different. Some call her inspiring, others call her strange, and a few claim that she is 'in touch' with something that the rest of the world is missing. A jack-of-all-trades, she does things her own way, and can end up being remarkably rebellious without even trying. Known as the "star girl" because of her habit of dotting her 'i's with tiny stars, Rachel brings quirky to a whole new level.
Whether she's playing a song on her ukulele for strangers, shooting secret messages on rubber bands, or cheering like a maniac when someone scores a basket throwing their trash into the garbage can, it's apparent that Rachel is more than just friendly. Wherever you go, you can always here someone talking about her crazy shenanigans. Although she has a few admirers from afar, Rachel doesn't have any close friends. The kids ranked higher on the social latter believe that her randomness and unpredictability is just a form of attention-seeking. They don't even present the question that maybe her antics are motivated by her caring, spirited and sensitive nature. They think she does it all for fame, and not for compassion.
Despite the ever-flowing rumors that spread around the academy and the rude teenagers who bully her in person, Rachel chooses to ignore the gossip and aggressive behavior that pertains to her. She continues to wear out-of-the-ordinary outfits, stroll around barefoot, give apples to teachers every day, and break the unwritten rules of Fairtytale Academy just because she can. Putting aside her overall uncanny personality, Rachel is quite extraordinary and seemingly just like a normal human being. She's a natural in subjects such as music and literature, and even more advanced subjects such as science and history. Some people are brave enough to ask her for the answers to homework and various assignments. Although she has strengths in a plethora of courses in the academy, Rachel's true passion is art. A skilled painter, you can always find at least one of her works hanging on the bulletin boards in the halls. Often times you can find her taking pictures of different people, places and things, which she uses as inspiration for her paintings. Disregarding her talents, Rachel is confident, adventurous, and daring. Although she seems like the type who would back away in the face of danger, the fifteen-year-old going on sixteen isn't afraid to stand up for herself or others when the situation clearly calls for dauntlessness. She can be funny, as she is curious, clumsy and slightly disorganized. Trustworthy and determined to no end, when this girl sets her mind to something, it is sure to get done.
However, through all her quirky glory, talents, and positive qualities, there is one personality trait remaining that is both a curse and a blessing for Rachel; her obedience. Specifically, her obedience towards her mother. Her mother's over-protectiveness has been accountable for dozens of Rachel's lost opportunities. For example, because of her beautiful artwork, accurate and detailed science fair projects, and knack for winning spelling bees, she has been asked to attend a number of competitions and school trips. Because of her mother's strict after-school curfew, Rachel has had to turn down each and every offer she's received. She's even not allowed to join any after-school activities such as choir, band, production crew, academic club, sports, and so on. (More of personality tba. I know. this is like a novel XD)
