When a fireball hit the creature it screamed of pain and turned to the culprit, something Giacomo considdered a dangerous situation, knowing that a single mage would never stand a chance against that massive thing. Feeling that it's the best option left he takes aim at the creature and fires a reasonably sized shell straight into the creatures head. Having made it an airburst it explodes right in the centre of it's head, creating a rain of tar as the head blasts into droplets. Unfortunatly the droplets seemed to return to the blob and his action had only bought them some time and distracted the creature. The only thing substantial was that wilst it was reforming the 'heart' moved slower and was partialy exposed. Though probably too sturdy to destroy with a single bullet, he yelled to Ace. "I am going to give the thing another shot, when the heart exposes itself shoot to your hearts content!" He would want to destroy the heart himself, but it was moving around too much for him to accuratly hit and he wouldn't be able to shoot the heart in the short regeneration time.
Once more Giacomo takes aim for the head and shoots an airburst shell straight into it. Exploding right on que and sending another load of tar skywards and back to the ground.

Kalas heard Tai say that she was scared and with a slight smile on his face he said wilst having to breathe every few words: "Don't worry about being scared, nor about admitting it. Being scared is very usefull, it prevents us from doing stupid things, and it helps us recognise danger." He looked at the creature thinking to himself: "I used to be scared by these sort of things, nowdays I don't know what scares me anymore. It's a pity, that it no longer prevents me from doing stupid things, nor does it warn me for danger. Living without fear isn't couragous, it's reckless."
Kalas looked at Tai when she said she could fight the creature, but she would need help. "I don't think I can do much at this point, at best I could give you some support, but at this point I don't have a lot left in the tank." He said with an appologising experssion on his face.

"Ace, I know you've got a plan - a flare means you have a plan or need help, and i notice a distinct lack of tar on you - but here's a backup idea - if your plan doesn't take the thing down, what if i made a makeshift bomb from metal bits and fire lacrima and you teleported it inside the beast itself? or better yet, inside the heart?"
"We need to get this thing as far away from the city as we can Blitz, I'm not risking a bomb going off in the middle of town." Ace says while still focusing. " Though once it's heart is out I want everyone to blast it to kingdom come."
Hearing Hershell's screams coming from the monster, Ace stops for a moment, his portals still weren't strong enough to be able to send people through them so the thing had to be stopped quickly if they had any chance of saving him . "HERSH!, IF YOU CAN HEAR ME, HOLD YOUR BREATH!" Ace shouts as he opens his eyes, Three large portals appear above the mage each about a meter apart stacked on top of each other. Near where Giacomo had left a opening a fourth portal appears. As the tar starts to leak into the portal it reappears from the middle portal above Ace's head. Finally seeing the heart fall into it, Ace almost instantly dismisses the two connected portals As the heart falls into the bottom portal it comes back out the top portal building momentum. As Ace allows the heart to gain speed the rest of the tar quickly begins to travel towards the mage. When the giant flood of tar was mere seconds away from devouring the young mage he readjusts the top portal aiming it upwards and, towards the ocean. Crossing the portal threshold almost in a blur the heart quickly goes flying high into the sky. As the tar began to fly after its heart. Ace spots a familiar hand in the down the street heading towards him in the moving tar mass as it heads for the sky. Ace throws his hat and guns onto a nearby table as he jumps up onto a light post, Ace tightly wraps his legs around the top as he sticks both his hands into the moving tar. Feeling his guild mates hand amongst the thick liquid he grabs it and is almost instantly jerked into the tar himself. As his legs strained to keep himself locked on the light post he begins to pull his arms back out. Quickly he begins to make out the figure of the lazy mage as he pulls with all his might. With one final giant tug Hersh comes flying out of the tar, falling to the street below. Caught slightly off balance by the act Ace loses his grip on the post and falls right after him.

"Well I'm off. I'll see you around Blitz." Ace says as he brushes some sand off his clothing. Taking off at a small jog he realizes that his head is still bleeding from the rock the material mage had shot at him. Reaching into his back pouch he pulls out a small bandage and places it over the wound.
-10 minutes later-
"Ace! Could you put that crate in the back" Mr. Denils calls out pointing to a as the two of them sort through the old man's somewhat messy toy shop.
"Sure thing Mr. Denils"
As Ace walked into the back room he placed the crate on a nearby table. As he goes to leave something catches his eye. It's an old photo taken in front of Golden Leo. In it several mages Ace can't recognize were all standing in front of the door with his grandpa who looked at least thirty years younger. As Ace moves towards it to look at it in further detail, Mr. Denils enters the back room.
"Ah, those we're the good old days. Not to say what you guys are doing now isn't as good. This was taken back when Guildmaster Lewick was in charge." He says walking up towards the gun mage.
"What was he like?"
"Almost the same as your Grandpa, stubborn, headstrong but loved the Guild with every fiber of his being. That's him there" He says pointing to a man who looks just as intimidating as Nevark. Wow, compared to the two of them Ace was an absolute shrimp, sure his grandpa never said anything about it but Ace could tell that he wanted a grandson who well.... stronger and tougher.
"Mr. Denils" Ace said with a slight pause.
"Do you think I could be the next guild master?"
"Of course you can. " He said, placing his hand on the boy's shoulder." Just try your hardest and I'm sure great things will happen for you."
Smiling Ace thanked the Old man who then told him stories from the older days of Golden Leo.
