Sir Eric paused as the young man spoke. He raised an eyebrow, and quickly motioned for Ethan to come over. "Pardon me, sir, but could you wait a moment?" He asked, turning and walking after the young man. He hadn't smelled quite like a farmer when he'd passed by. He had also spoken in a very feminine voice, which he hadn't expected. He'd seen plenty of effeminate men in his day, but none actually sounded like a woman.
Ethan arched a brow at his teacher as he called to him. Something was offā¦He narrowed his eyes to look at the boy Sir Eric was following. He could only see the young manās backā¦.but for some reasonā¦.Ethan felt like he recognized the form of ā¦.wellā¦.his back.
Great, she'd spoken to the companion that Ethan had brought with him. She knew as soon as the man wanted her to stop. Well, that wasn't happening. As soon as he'd asked her to stop, she'd increased her fast pace to a run. Of course she knew that she wasn't going to outrun them, but with a head start maybe she could find somewhere to hide, or make it back to the castle. It was a long shot, but worth the try.
Eric broke into a run behind her, pushing a random man out of his way. He was quite a bit smaller than Eric, but Eric could smash through crowds. Whoever he was, he didn't have a reason to be running from a single knight. When the king wanted someone dealt with, he liked to make a bigger deal of it. "Stop!" Eric shouted.
He hadn't donned all of his armor when Ethan came and retrieved him, so he had a bit more maneuverability in the streets. He hoped Ethan was close behind.

When he realized what had happened, Ethan had run down a street down to his left. Jazz probably knew her way back to the Palace, but Ethan had the advantage of knowing the city a hell of a lot better then the cooped up princess.
Not to mention, one of Ethanās best features, something heād discovered in his training, was his speed and agility.

Jazz had no idea where she was going. She was just running for the nearest exit now. She couldn't see behind her, or look around for Ethan to judge how far she was from them both. If she did, it would distract her and probably get her caught. All she could do was run for the street ahead of her and hope to cut down into one of the alley's on her left. As soon as she made it to the exit, she turned down onto the first side street she could find, hoping to take as many twists and turns as possible to lose Ethan and his companion. Never in a million years would she have thought she'd be running away from Ethan.
Sir Eric tripped over some wooden boards, and rolled to get back up. The young man was quick through the back streets, but Eric could see where she'd gone. He regained his footing, and kept the chase up. Who was the young man, and why were they running so?
Jazz may have been running, but she would soon find herself feeling a sudden absence of contact between her feet and the ground. Ethan had come straight from her left, and ambushed the young woman, wrapping his arms around her waist and lifting her off the ground.
āNow now,ā He smirked. āI believe Sir Eric asked you to stop.ā

"Ethan!" Jazz cried out as soon as her feet left the ground and she heard his words. "Put me down right now!" She ordered, struggling to get herself out of his grip.
Sir Eric came to a slow stop, leaned lightly against the wall, "Ach, thank goodness you got here when you did." He said, smiling at Ethan. "I may have lost her." He said, looking up at the setting sun. "We should really get her back, before the king comes looking." He added.
Ethan set Jazz down, but was sure to clamp his hands over her shoulders to get a solid grip on her. āJasmine, what in Godās name are you doing out here? Donāt you know itās dangerous outside of the Palace?ā Hell for him, it was even dangerous inside the Palace.
