Pet || a lynx named Saia (Say-ah]

ImageAbilities
Sonny has the unnerving ability to make someone feel as if they were only an inch tall. People who dare to mock her or are slain mercilessly by her words. On the other hand she is also very good at building people up. She can turn on like a switch and schmooze like no ones business. Among her friends she tends to be the one to talk them all out of trouble with a swish of her hips and some sweet words. Without any surprise, she excelled from the start at the Defense against the Dark Arts. Confidence shines through the girl and when speaking cantations there is never hesitation or stuttering that make others falter. This skill extends into charms, and her O.W.L.S. scores prove so.

Deficiencies

Any subject that requires memorizing abundant amounts of information Alison struggles. She has a hard time forcing herself to put forth effort in anything that doesn't interest her, and sometimes falls behind in classes such as history of Magic or Potions. It's not that she doesn't have the capability to excell, it's more that she doesn't have the drive to try her best.
Among her classmates within her year, Alison is thought as a heartless bitch. She gives a cold shoulder to most people and a mocking laugh to the rest. Because of her upbringing, Alison has a hard time making true friends. She seems to surround herself with other superficial rude fake people because they're the only ones who find her bitchy front entertaining. She doesn't talk to many people outside of her circle, and has a hard time opening up to others.

Personality

Not many people enjoy the Oglethorpe's. They're bullies, and they look down on those who are not of pure blood, well at least that's what everyone thinks. Alison has never opened up to anyone fully, so what people know about her is more of an assumption than anything else. Yes Alison came into Hogwarts under her brother, Grimm's, shadow, and he pushed around others much like their uncles and their father once did. For the most part Alison keeps quiet, speaking only when she sees no other option. Because so many people fear her brother, not many people speak to Alison. Most of her friends are also friends with her brother, and those who try to get to know her most of the time receive a look of contempt and a snarky comment before she walks off swishing her hips and laughing as if she had heard the funniest joke.

To Alison, she prefers to stay under the radar and just tries to get by, more often than not Alison ends up in the middle of petty drama. She doesn't respond well to high pressure situations, and when the heat gets to be too much Alison lashes out and storms off. She considers herself a passionate person beneath her shell of apathy and uppity demeanor. She feels emotions in extreme ranges, when happy she is ecstatic, when sad she's depressed, when mad she is furious. There is no middle ground for Alison, and because she keeps everything buried Alison sometimes feels her emotions gnaw her from the inside out. There are dark moments when her own thoughts disturb her, and it's times like these that Alison turns to her sketch book.

She keeps her sketches to herself, no one has ever seen them. The only time she gives herself to spend unwinding she spends alone and nearby the lake or sneaking into the fringes of the forbidden forest. There's something soothing to her about gliding the charcoal across the coarse paper of sketch book. Afraid that her friends will mock her for her mundane hobby, Alison keeps it to herself. Despite her embarrassment of her hobby, Alison does very well with her sketches. Back home she has an easel and some oil based paint and brushes that she bought on her own time and hid from her family. They frown upon anything muggle related.

Even though the Dark Lord has gone, some old fashioned people still carry faith in his beliefs. The Oglethorpe's are infamous for their disdain for mudbloods despite the turn of events those years ago when Harry Potter thwarted the dark lord. Despite what her family says though, Alison honestly couldn't care less. Most of her friends do though, and when they make hurtful comments to the half breeds or mudbloods, Alison laughs along so she isn't outcasted, but never really found the humour behind such crude jokes. Although Alison's sense of humour is dark, she much prefers satirical references or sarcastic comments part of a grander and more complex situation than what family someone was born to.

Because she is neither blind nor humble, Alison is considered narcissistic by most people's standards. Although her ego isn't oversized, it is at a stage where it does come across as arrogance from time to time, but yet again this is a common Oglethorpe trait. This being the last year before her brother graduates, Alison is just trying to skate by until she is released from his tyranny over their schoolmates.

ImageHistory
It's very easy for anybody to trace back the history of the Oglethorpe's. It is written everywhere all over their home in London. Tracing back to before Hogwarts even began, they had always been a family of snakes. Everyone in their family had been sorted as a slytherin, and much to her parents chagrin so was Alison. Although no one knew it, the sorting hat had hesitated. She could have gone to Ravenclaw he said, he said he let her choose though. However Alison always had a gnawing sensation that he saw the lurking evil in her that resided in all Oglethorpe's. Her family had past alliances with the Dark Lord, and even though he was gone to this day he was a subject at family dinners. As a little girl she remembered her father throwing a tantrum when the joyous paper read the dark lord had been thwarted by a mere boy.
It was that day that Alison realized she wasn't much like her family. Like a fan girl, she began to idolized the said Harry Potter and the reign of terror he had ended among the magical world. She began wandering among muggles, sneaking into movie theaters or book stores, entertaining herself with their culture. Once when getting frozen custard, a rather adorable muggle boy asked her name. Freezing up, Alison had taken the quickest escape route possible from a conversation with him. But that night, laying in bed, she wondered what his calloused hands would feel like gently cupping her face. She wondered if his cerulean blue eyes had ever seen true magic, and how it might light up if she could make fireworks emerge in mid air with a swish of her wand.
But she should have been repulsed by him, just because his blood wasn't pure like hers. With a smile like his though, how could Alison care what blood rushed through his veins? Did he not bleed red just as she did?

Of course it would be foolish to express such doubts to her family, so instead Alison maintains the veil of contempt for anything Foreign. She began her first year when she was twelve, and has been gaining a reputation as an Ice Queen ever since.

So begins...

Alison Oglethorpe's Story

Kye's reaction wasn't anything short of what she had expected. She averted her gaze to the floor as he asked if she had submitted her name as well. Letting him breeze past the question with an answer to her own, Alison glanced over her shoulder to see if anyone was lingering nearby - a habit of hers. Pursing her lips to look back at the young man before her, she tilted her head slightly as if she were drinking him all in. Her dark eyes wandered, her arms folding across her chest.

"Well arise sir, future champion of us all." She said with wry grandeur, curtsying with an impish grin. Taking a few steps backward, she continued, "well, good luck with all of that. I best get back to my dormitory...see you -er..Kye!" She beamed a smile at him before turning to face the correct direction to the dungeons that led into the Slytherin corridor.

Reaching the dungeons with no interruptions, Alison was relieved. She had plans to finish her herbology homework and retire for the night. Lucky that Hogwarts wasn't light with homework, Alison often buried her nose into her studies to avoid her brother and his friends which benefited herself in the long run. However she wasn't lucky enough to dodge the gang through the lobby of their dormitories. "Oye, Alison- where 'ave you been?" Grimm called out, mouth half stuffed with pastries he had brought back from the great hall.

Rolling her eyes and dropping her arm dramatically, she clutched her books close with her other arm as she made an expression of exasperation. "I'm not a child Grimm, I may come and go as i please without having to report to you."

His friends chuckled under their breath, turning away from the siblings to feign privacy. Grimm stood to his full stature well by six feet, taking three strides to come to Alison's side. She dare not flinch as he came beside her, keeping her jaw strong and eyes narrowed. "Just because you're blood doesn't mean you can talk to me with disrespect, Alison. If you keep acting like some barbarian mother will be quite displeased by the next letter i send out." He growled.

"Oh, going to run and tell our mummy are you Grimm?" Alison said loudly, turning some heads. Without hesitation Grimm gripped his sisters forearm with force, causing her to drop her books as he manhandled her into a corner of the room where most couples hid to snog out of the view of others.

Menacingly, Grimm lowered his lips to Alison's ear, her eyes widened with surprise. "I will not have you make a fool of me in front of my peers, Alison. Either your with us, or against us.." He released her, shoving her against the book case with slight brutality. Wincing Alison cringed into the glossy wood, the cold dungeon wall behind her offering no type of comfort. Grimm glared a moment longer before turning back to the lounge, those who were watching with curiosity snapping their heads as if to play off their nosiness.

It hadn't been the first time Grimm acted out against Alison in front of others in their house. Of course no one would ever do anything, hell if Grimm was acting like that with his sister he surely wouldn't care about anyone else's well being. What was worse was that no one ever talked about it, like ever. Alison never heard rumors in the halls that Grimm manhandled his sister or that he had struck the very flesh that came from the same two people as his own. It was as if it never happened.

Red faced, Alison collected her things, rushing to hide her sketches before going to her own room - avoiding the eyes of others.
