"Why more than 'you should'?" Hadn't she liked him? Wasn't being liked more a good thing?

And suddenly, he laughed. The young man had let out a loud, bubbling peal as the grin grew wider. Needless to say, Abigail's response had made Oliver feel pretty good.
"Me too!" The ravenette agreed.

"...J-J-jell-yfsh...swim to get...around," the man said softly, face reddening for some reason that was quite away from the topic he was reading. "T-his means oh-pen-ng and clos-ng its bell—much as you oh-pen and close an um-bre-lla..." He let his head drop. He had no clue what half of these words had meant.

"My head." The man grumbled after looking sternly at the book for five minutes. "It hurts."

"This place is so pretty!" she giggled swimming over to him. She resisted the urge to wrap her arms around his neck and instead gave him a sheepish smile.

His hands touched the smooth, muddy bottom beneath his bended knees. Oliver quickly stood back up again, the water causing his dark hair to become slick. He pushed it back from his face and watched Abigail bob to the surface.
She gave him a sheepish smile and he returned it with an only slightly un-genuine grin. "You are happy?" He asked.

"What's wrong?" she asked, finding his hand under the water and playing with his fingers. She wanted to alleviate his discomfort, though she wasn't sure how. The girl didn't want to rush into anything by hanging all over him, but she felt a twinge in her chest over his unhappiness. She smoothed the stray pieces of soaked blonde hair back into her bun and looked at him, searching for a way to help.

"I just," The dark man huffed, looking up at the sky in embarrassment at his horrible confession. "I can't go in deep water..."

down further. When she finally brought him down to her height she planted a firm, reassuring kiss on his lips.
"Don't be embarrassed. It's not a big deal," she said. The girl pulled away from him and stayed close, not venturing into the deep anymore.

"Abigail can still swim," he offered lightly. "I can swim. Not deep, but... I can swim."

Like a child, Abigail flicked some water at Oliver, being careful not to hit him in the face.

With a laugh, he flopped back to dodge whatever attack might ever come his way. The dark eyes above the surface smiled as he brought his face up slightly. "I have not done this..." Oliver let out a little sigh. "In long time."

Innocently, the dark man dipped himself low enough in the water so the following phrase came out in bubbles of air. "I want to always be near Abigail."
