"...that's how it works in video games..."
Rae is a gamer; she spends most of her time either on a console or her computer. She can be extremely competitive when it comes down to her games and she often flaunts her victories. This also means that she usually gives blunt advice to others when they play. She is, however, entirely different face to face. In person, Rae is shy and avoids conflict. She is also extremely awkward, never quite able to say the right thing at the right time. Some say that she is "anti-social", but she honestly has a hard time fitting in; to her close group of friends, she is easy-going and quite fun. She loves trying new things, so long as she won't face embarrassment or conflict. In large groups of people she doesn't know or knows very little, she tends to stay out of discussion unless asked directly. She is kind of a dork; she enjoys reading (fiction and nonfiction) and actually enjoys school. She has a few quirks as well: she laughs when she is nervous, bites her nails when she is anxious, and chews on her bottom lip when she is thinking.
She almost always has her backpack with her and in her dorm, being a gamer, has her "survival" backpack as well.

Rae grew up in Estes Park, Colorado. She lived with her mother, father, and two smaller siblings (a boy and a girl). She had her own room growing up, though her fraternal twin siblings shared and often complained about it. She had two close friends growing up, but after high school they each went to different colleges. As soon as she graduated high school, she began attending Colorado State University for graphic design -- her focus would eventually be video game design. She lives in a dorm on campus and has a roommate, though they don't talk very often; her roommate is usually out at her boyfriend's or partying, "or whatever it is that college students do".
