"Soon, this world will kneel to me as it should."
Without discipline, there is no life at all. Thus is Alamar's motto. From this stems the rest of his behavior: the sternness, the near torturous amount of criticism, and the level of effort he requires from everyone. He is logical to the point of emotionless, yet takes failure as the highest form of dishonor and will fly into a rage if disappointed. Due to his cold nature though, it is difficult to determine what the man is thinking, leaving most uncertain of whether to flee for their lives, or be ready to be showered with gifts.
-To be edited in later-
Alamar was born to Quith House, one of the more powerful families in the Capital, as a healthy youngling with a bright future planned out ahead of him as a politician in the city's courts. He submitted to the wishes of his family, and to the needs of the house, learning etiquette and the intricate web of relations amongst the court and the country. Until he was a boy he stuck to his studies, learning the ways of discipline as all of the men before him had. For hours on end he'd drill himself on his courses, reciting them correctly to his father the next day, or nursing a black eye and a raw back. He quickly learned to never disappoint his father.
When off at court one day, a mage made an appearance to give tribute to the king of the time. His magical items and dazzling spells quickly won over Alamar's young mind, and he showed earnest in changing his career to that of a mage. He fueded and fought with his father, disobeying all of the previous laws, and time after time he was refused and sent away with bruises and scratches. After a long struggle, Alamar was finally granted a chance to prove himself as a wizard, and joined the cadaver at a much older age than was usual. He struggled at first, both embarrassed to be in a classroom of children half his age, and with a subject he knew nearly nothing about. At first his learning was rocky, and for a moment he faltered.
But he was determined to spite his father, and rose through the classes faster than any student before, regardless of having previously being labeled as 'Magical Learning Handicapped'
Being trained as a politician prior to trained as a mage, he used his experience to levy himself into the higher ranks, and to sweet talk the guards away from their posts, or at least trick them away. With all the doors open to him, and his unquenchable curiosity baying for him to root through it all, he eventually stumbled upon accounts of the forbidden arts. These ancient tomes creaked as he turned their pages under the midnight oil, reading of the deeds that could be done with just a small dip into the dark arts. So much could be done for good, if the right mind were applied to these concepts. Undead horses could ride tirelessly through the night to deliver urgent messages, armies could be stopped with the spells on the timeless pages, conflicts could be avoided altogether. Then the political aspects ranged even further. With what was in this book, all of the human lands could be united under one banner! The world would prosper and be happy, unlike anything it had ever seen before!
He summoned his first demon. It was terrifying and wondrous at the same time. He had never thought himself capable of controlling it, much less having it materialize before him! It's power was at his fingertips, and the thoughts of grandeur flooded his teenaged mind. His power rivaled that of a senior mage, and that left him with almost every spell he'd read about so far. One immediately came to mind, and somehow, Alamar felt scared of this.
The following morning, his father, head of house Quith, was found dead of mysterious causes.
From there, his rise began. Alamar drifted further into the dark arts, and his worldview twisted to what would scare most people. The world would be united under one banner. His banner.
Over the years, Alamar twisted his new dark powers to his will and warped the leadership of the mages, siphoning power from them as he grew more and more powerful. Soon, he was The Archmage.
