She rubbed her stomach, "Cheese sounds good.." She never really liked speaking up. Lizzie looked back at her feet when Katey's question arose. "Mine..." She said softly. "Do you have a dead or dying plant?" Lizzie asked. She felt like it was random but she had never shown anyone but her trainers and such about her talent. Not even any of the other guardians knew what she did, or well how. Katey went back to the window and grabbed a potted daffodil which was all wilted and dry. Lizzie closed her eyes and placed one hand on the plant. Suddenly the plant began to rise up again, and turn a bright green. "That's it I guess... I can heal things, or well.... help them grow?" She said questionably. She looked over at Connor who seemed to somewhat amazed by her 'talent'. "What?" She said as she started to blush.
Katey passed her some cheese. And looked at her in awe. "Wow, that's amazing. "she said softly. She picked up the plant that was dead just two seconds ago. She looked at Connor and back to Lizzie, folding her hands. "so what do you guys, I don't know do for fun? Or let me rephrase that. What do you guys want to do? "katey grab ed another slice of cheese and handed it to Connor.
Connor began to nibble on his food. He didn't know about Lizzie's power and he certainly didn't expect it to be that. He wasn't much of an eavesdropper but he had heard she had the power of healing now he knows what it means. He finished the cheese before he knew it he was content and thought it would be enough for now. He saw her blush and he smiled, he thought it was somewhat cute that ber hair now was the same color as her face. She was the quietest of the group and mostly just stayed out of the way. He rubbed his hands on his hands on his pants " Well I like to know my surroundings wherever I go so it would be nice to get a look at where I can actually see things."
Katey smiled. "okay. Do you mind? "she gently picked up Connor and Lizzie in her hands and walked downstairs with them. "This is my living room. "she sighs then walks into the kitchen. "Kitchen. "katey walks outside with Connor and Lizzie In her hands. "and this is my back ward. "she walks on the patio and puts them on top of a grill shield. "It's not much but, eh you can say it's fit for a queen. "katey makes air quotes around fit for a queen and gave a faint smile.
"It's so huge! You must have such an expensive home!" Lizzie yells, not being very loud for the human. She smiles at Connor but then falls into him as Katey walks. "Sorry" She lightly blushes. She'd definitely never been this close to Connor before, dare I say any other guardian! She stepped onto the grill shield and looked at the grass that went on forever. "you have a jungle in your backyard?" she laughed. Katey laughed too. Then she directed her gaze back to Connor, who had a radiant smile upon his face.
Katey sighs. "yeah its not too big. "she giggled at Lizzie. "No. I wish though. "she looks from Connor to Lizzie. "wow you guys are really cool. ". She looked down "Tell me. How long do you think you guys have been in those boxes? "
Connor squinted as Katey stepped outside he hardley ever got to go outside and when he did it was usually an arid desert like location. The air was cool and nice outside. He made sure to hide it but a soft smile appeared on his face as Lizzie fell onto him. " Oh it's fine don't worry " . He watched as a bird flew overhead. He smirked watching the backyard taking it all in. To him and Lizzie it was somewhat of a jungle he was a bit startled as a dog bark he fell back a bit onto Lizzie. " Well that was unexpected " he stood back up straight and realized that he had been knocked into her " Uh sorry I guess " he rubbed blithe back of his head an a light red swept over his cheeks. He tried to act as ifnit never happened as he answered Katey's question " Uh about 2 or 3 days I think maybe more I was asleep half the time " he let out a small chuckle.
"oh. "she said "did the men or women there, mistreat you or put any bad thoughts about humans in your heads? "she shrugged. "and we can do whatever you guys want to do unless I'm away like at school and stuff. "she looked into the other yard across from hers. There was a guy that hit her earlier that day. She backed up slowly.her voice trembled "let's go inside. "katey grabbed Connor and Lizzie and took them inside. She locked the back door just in case and sat at the kitchen table.
Lizzie hardly remember being in her "box" as Katey had called it. She called it home. "Well they weren't particularly nice..." Lizzie mumbled, not wanting to be rude. School? Isn't she too old to be going to school? Lizzie thought. But what did she know? Maybe this girl was extremely stupid? Or smart? Or she was a teacher?! that made more sense. When they went back inside Lizzie could see the fear of the girl. When Katey placed them on her wooden table she watched as she locked the doors. "Whats wrong?" Lizzie always had that feeling, when something was wrong. And something was wrong.
Katey shook her head and touched the bruise on the side of her face as her hand trembled but stiffened. "Nothing. And what do you mean they wer'nt particularly nice? What did they do to you guys?". Katey got up again and pulled down the shade. She walked to the fridge and looked at her schedule for her courses in criminal justice. She had to leave for her class in 15 minutes but wanted to know more about Connor and Lizzie.
"Well your the first human Ive ever seen so I think this is more of Lizzie's subject. All the humans ever did to me was set hurdles and traps infront of me 2 and 4 so yeah." He jumped off and decided to get around on his own. He went under the couch and started to look around, he found a paperclip and a long piece of string " perfect " he said to himself as he started to morph the two in the darkness under the couch out of sight.
"They treated me okay..." She paused. No they didn't treat her right or with respect but she didn't want to put down the humans. Lizzie watched as Katey's hand slid up to her face. there was a bruise on her face! Lizzie felt like this would or might be the only time to show that she is useful in some manner. "Can I see your ....face?" she asked with hesitation. Katey probably thought she was going to attack her face or something. When Katey bent down Lizzie touched her face. a real human face. She closed her eyes and the bruise went away. Plus the pain was gone too. "Um... I hope you feel better.." she smiled. Lizzie looked back over at Connor who seemed to disappear under the darkness of the couch.
Katey touched the side of her cheek where the bruise was but no longer is. "Oh my god, Lizzie. Thank you. That's a wonderful well talentif you want to call it that. Katey smiled and looked over at the couch Connor was under. "Hey buddy, what are you doing under there? "katey took Lizzie in her hands and walked over to the couch and sat on the floor. "So the people there, you guys are saying they are nice and treat you decent? "

"To some extent " Connor said from underneath the couch he didn't want to be seen with his "masterpiece" but he heard the conversation from above " talents well that's one way to look at it " he said to himself. He knew that they had been brd that way but he wasn't sure if the others knew about it as well. He was the most informed of all the gaurdians and usually got the secret Intel. He tried to hide his works as Lissie got in eye contact. " Uh hey there " he faked a wile and hid it behind his back.
Lizzie hoped down from Katey's hands and onto the floor. As she walked under, into the dark mysterious abyss. She could somewhat see Connor, and he looked like he was hiding something. "What you got there?" She said shyly, holding her hands behind her back and looking at her shoes. She looked back up to see Connor seemed fazed for a moment. She stood, blocking the light rays behind her, almost seeming to glow.
Katey at the bottom of the coach amazed, even though they wer'nt doing any thing. She waited for an explanation of what they were doing but forgot about it. She saw the glow and sat up straighter and stiffer. "whatcha guys doing down there? "she said shyly
" Nothing I'm not doing a thing " he said innocently as he hid his invention behind his back. He didn't want Lizzie to see or anyone really until it was finished. It was the way he worked, he watched as Lizzie walked up the bright lights glowing luminously behind her. He was temperarily mesmerised by her " Lizzie you, you " he stopped himself but turned a bright red. " Uh yeah well uh " Connor made sure to hide his blush under the cover of darkness.
"okay. "Katey looked at the clock. She had a course in 5 minutes. "Hey guys I have to guy to my criminal justice course. Do you guys want to stay here? "katey tied her hai back and grabbed her bag. "If you guys want to stay here"she sighed a little "you can. There is cheese on the coffee table. "she walked over to the door waiting to see what their answer would be.
He just seemed to be stunned. She looked behind her once more, making sure there was no huge beast about to attack her but saw nothing but the light of the main room. " Nothing I'm not doing a thing " Lizzie knew he was lying. "You just don't want to show me huh?" Lizzie walked out from the darkness, her face disappointed with anger. She looked back up at Katey as she reentered the main room. "I think we should stay here... And get to know the house a little or explore? Only if it's okay with you..." She said twisting her right foot and swinging her hips.
" Lizzie I " he stopped himself after he relished she was out of earshot " dammit " he cursed under his breath he walked back and continued to bend and knot the objects together to make a small grappling hook. He looked out at Lizzie and sighed they were the only two here since the others had different owners. She looked pretty mad and Connor hated to piss people off like that. He heard Katey ask if they wanted to stay. " Sure we can stay here " he emearged the hook on his back and he stood beside Lizzie.
Katey nodded her head. "okay that's fine I guess. "she looked at the bolth of them, knowing Connor was up to something but it was all new to her so she didn't seem to mind. "I'll be home inabout an hour. "she ran her hand through her hair and exited the house. She got in the car quickly and drove away.
Lizzie watched as Katey took her steps towards the door, a slight ground shake with each one. As the door slammed she turned back towards Connor. "So what are you up to? Hiding things from me?" She said a a little sassy. She was never one to give attitude but she wasn't in a great mood. She put her hands on her hips, she had been in a box for days, been taken away from her home and people were keeping secrets from her.
Connor watched as Katey shut the door then he looked at Lizzie who looked the angriest he had ever seen her " You know your pretty cute when your angry" he said jokingly. He then pulled out the hook from behind his back and showed it to her " I made it for exploring and didnt want Katey to freak out about it so I had to hide it sorry" he walked over the the cabinet and threw it up listening as it hit the radio then latched itself on its wire. " If you wanna come up with me and explore be my guest but if you want just use your feet" he held his hand out waiting for her response.
Lizzie blushed. Connor had never called her cute. In fact Connor had never called her anything. She looked as he threw the grappling hook up high. "I'm coming but if I fall, I'm taking you down with me." She laughed. Lizzie walked over and looked up. She was never a big fan of heights, but she didn't want to seem like a complete loser. She grabbed onto the rope and put a foot on the wall. "Are you sure this is safe?" She said nervously.
" Nope but that's what makes it fun" Connor grabbed Lizzie and started slowly go up he was just as fast with his hands as his leg but hated to climb like this he looked as Lizzie cowarded he hands around his shoulders " uh you okay" he started going slower. he didn't want her to fall but he wanted to get up quickly. The fall wouldn't be fatal but if they did fall it would be a nasty pain to the legs. He looked down normally heights didn't scare him but he was cautious for Lizzie's saftey. " Were almost to the top don't worry".
