Vanalee

Vanalee let out one very large sigh. The flirtation - so she called it - between the Seductress and Sym had finally begun, so she made it her best to just ignore every word they managed to say. Besides, she had a positive idea that they both mocked her, so she didn't feel the need to fool with them any longer. She also didn't feel the need to check up on any of the other demons, which Sym had pointed out surrounding Nyx, for there would be time for that much later - when she would be tearing her up limb from limb for dancing foolishly. Of course, not that Lord would allow it anyway, which depressed her. She stood up once more on the edge, stretching her muscles and even making her bones crack and rattle.

That was when the wrath demon saw the fish that Sym had purposely given to the Seductress. Vanalee cocked one eyebrow, examining the fish much as the Seductress had done as well. Her eyes darted from the fish to Sym, examining him also. She smirked, putting the hood of the cloak over her head and finally ripping her wings out from their comfortable folds. Her entire body shuttered they spread out, and she just adored the feeling. Without any warning to her fellow demons, she had fallen off of the edge.

For a few seconds, Vanalee free fell. The breeze on her skin always made her feel relaxed and calm; it was like kind of like meditating in an odd sense. Before she would splatter onto the ground, Vanalee stretched out her wings, letting her glide over the castle grounds. As she flew, the smell of the humans came flustering back to her, and her cravings were becoming more serious. However, it was very strictly said to Vanalee that she must not eat any, but how could she not when they smelled so appetizing?

Vanalee's hunger pains only seemed to grow as she kept flying around the castle; however, she was determined to resist the urge. Her Lord had been a great supporter throughout all of the years of being able to resist human flesh, but old habits just couldn't die that hard. Ever since she could remember, she had been eating the poor, defenseless souls among the town. With the help of her Lord, however, she has learned to cope with the sense of flowing blood.

The constant boredom that was gliding was making Vanalee highly exhausted. She lifted her eyes to see one very large, tick oak tree - just above the humans and her Lord. She flew herself to land on a branch, big enough to hold her exhausted body. She didn't manage to put her wings back into place, so she let them hang there like old rags over the branch. She looked down at the humans and sighed.

I'm starving, said to him. You and these humans can play house later. You've kept me locked up in that damn turret for hours on end, and I will not hesitate to pick the skin off of these humans' bones.

Nyx

Watching those around her closely she sat still. Eros, she hadn't seen when she climbed and settled down with the others. She made sure to give him a nod before her attention was taken back to Seductress and Symarin.

It seems Sym was dangling a small fish in front of Seductress. She tilted her head watching the exchange with a morbid curiosity. The fish was radiating something that felt very appetizing. It might be something worthy of a little snack, which had her almost twitching with hunger. It seemed to be ages since she really fed. She refused to feed from the others, it was to dangerous. So she starved herself living in a state of perpetual hunger. She wouldn't have admitted this aloud to anyone including their “Lord”. This was a weakness and it wouldn't do to let anyone take advantage of her.

It was Vanalee who broke her concentration. She jumped guiltily as the demon stood and then fell back. Nyx wasn't the type to really care about the others. She could get along with them fine and they offered something akin to entertainment. But with Vanalee she was unsure about. On one hand the loathed her but on the other hand she was a fairly interesting demon. She could be entertaining if she just poked her a little.

Shrugging off her current train of thought she heard Sym Speaking to her. Asking her about her current appearance and if she planned to introduce herself in such a away. Sym would hear a few soft sounds coming from her, almost like a clicking. Shifting her body to face the male she stood a little her claw like nails tapping. It was in more of those off noise like sounds that some how formed speech that she responded. “ Oh no, what good would it do? I need my little Red to like me.. trust me. I'll be with them for quite some time so I can't gorge myself the moment we meet. No I'll take my time.” Her head tipped back she slunk back down as her nails moves to her thin arms scratching vigorously. “But it itches!”

IT was at that moment Eros started to move for the sparrow. She watched as he sucked the warmth from its tiny body and then threw it away. She reminded herself to keep an eye on that particular boy. Nyx kept up her itching as Eros returned though she seemed to ignore this. “I'm glad you enjoy me, Symarin. I enjoy it myself. Quite frightening if I do say so myself. Though becoming an honorary anything sounds like to much work for a title.”

Tanis Svanhild

Tanis lifted her head. Even after trying to get some rest, the banter and antics of the demons above disturbed her. She could hear the odd group conversing about humans and let her ears tune in to the words hearing each strangely different voice. Symarin, Eos, Vanalee, Nyx, and then the Seductress. Every now and then she would catch something interesting but it was nothing of much great importance. She opened her mouth in a silent yawn as her mind wandered away from the talk. Where was the other demon? The only one she found to be slightly interesting? Tanis lifted her head to peer up the castle walls where she knew they would be as she tried her best to remember the creature's name. Arrigo. Better named Arrie?

She silently thanked the whispers but didn't give them too much credit since they took interest only in what she took interest in. Tanis gathered herself up stretching out her warm muscles. The night was far too chilly but it didn't bother her much with all the fur she had. She sniffed the air once more letting the whispers guide her mind for once against her better judgement. Human. Sweet flesh that is silken over the tongue. One taste. You need only one taste. You will have one taste. Get it now. Just beyond your reach. Punishment will be worth it. She let out a growl that carried across her menace as it rumbled across the air like the great sound it was. She was definitely getting impatient to have her meal but her sense of self preservation spoke up against the whispers. Tanis stood slowly letting her body uncurl from where it had been resting in the shadows. As she took one step forward she saw the momentary flash of brown feathers and she instantly ducked shifting to get a better view. Her muscles tensed, bunching, as she kept the position of a pounce. When her eyes alighted the specimen she relaxed only a fraction as her eyes turned upwards, her tail swishing too and fro. Her tail cut the air, stirring the grass whilst her mind sharpened. She took a few steps forward and prodded the sparrow with her nose feeling up the little creature's condition before letting out a sigh.

Taking her time to approach the castle she grasped hold of the rocks, digging in her claws daintily. She caught another flash as Vanalee went by going wherever the bat thing desired, not that Tanis really cared. They all had their freedoms. She steadily made her way up the rock surface as her muscles strained with the effort. her body wasn't built to climb rocks. Perhaps trees but not a castle wall and this took time as she had to carefully place her paws in all the nooks and crevices where the rocks had become disentangled from the others. Finally managing to get up the wall she cast her glance towards the small group of demons. She could discern the difference between them all. It wasn't like she never associated with them but it was simply a rare feat and not one she often liked to do.

She shifted her form and immediately appeared as her humanoid form. It required no pain or actual structural changes but it was just a mindset. An appearance that she could adopt as easily as the next. Once again though, it was rare to catch in this form but it wasn't unheard of. She coughed once trying to get a feel for her vocal cords before speaking. "Do any of you know anything interesting about the humans? What is there purpose? Is it not suspicious that they would be willing to come here? Actually I must wonder what horrors they hide within themselves and the amusements they will bring. Oh, and Eos be careful not to throw little cold bodies at others. It's just-" She paused searching for the better word. "-Weird." Her voice rang out clear but it wasn't without it's own hoarse gravelly tones. The hint of a beast's voice underneath.

Oliver Matthews

Oliver shifted unsteadily at the sound of the screech. This entire situation was making him uncomfortable. Noises in the night and the suspicious host both seemed to make for what would be some sort of fantasy murder mystery. This perked his interest. Looking at the other people that had arrived, he wondered who else could possibly arrive. They were already a pretty diverse assortment of people. Looking back to the guy who called himself “Lord”, he smiled weakly.

“I must say,” he said. “You must have quite a variety to be able to contain an animal of such ferocity.” Gently pushing his glasses up, he looked casually around the area again. Maybe that was something in that tree… but surely not. Turning back to his host, he continued, “I hope to have a good time here. But, it’s cold and dark out here. Surely the others care be let in later?” As he said this he passed Lord and pushed the gate open a fraction of an inch.

Eos

Eos was watching Nyx, who had shifted to another form. She was scratching herself uncomfortably. Eos did not find this very interesting, so he turned his attention to the other Daemons, minus Vanalee who had just left. There was a fish. Another animal. But fish were like reptiles, coldblooded things didn't hold enough warmth to make a flame, let alone fill him up. Eos turned his gaze away. Sure the fish was interesting, it was nice looking, but it had no meaning for Eos.
He looked into the darkness. Someone else was coming. It seemed to be Tanis, the one who could change into a large beast. She carried much warmth in her. If Eos wasn't full he would have been shivering madly. She truly drove him crazy. The voice, even when he was warm and full, whispered to him. Go ahead, she won't mind. She can't hurt a fly, look at her. Just reach out and touch her. Her face, her hand, it doesn't matter.Eos shook his head, driving the voice away. The feeling of warmth that was Tanis shifted, and he could tell now that she was in her 'human' form. Eos sighed. That was better. she was less warm, but only by a little.

"Oh, and Eos be careful not to throw little cold bodies at others. It's just-Weird."

Eos smirked when she came closer, talking. Weirder than her? weirder than anyone else in this place? Not likely. Eos paused for a moment, trying to think of something to say that was not rude, until he came up with,
"Sorry. I'll try to be more normal next time I dispose of my frozen carcasses."
His voice was light, but a bit scathing at the same time. He also felt a bit sorry. He hadn't meant to throw it in her direction, he was a bit preoccupied with getting full. It had been days since he had gotten anything. Very, very, very long days.

Lord

When the stupid human tried pushing on the gate, Lord didn't move. Not a muscle. As if he wouldn't have locked it behind him. Sure, the chain gave some, but it was spelled. He wouldn't risk letting the demons out, not when they couldn't pass the barrier of the wall. As though unconcerned, as though he couldn't feel Vanalee in the tree just barely inside the grounds, hear her in his head, Lord laughed. "No, no they cannot. And unless you would like to die, we cannot go back in until later. I allow the nocturnal creatures some time to roam, but... They can get a bit vicious. Would you like to be disembowled?" Light enough voice, easy stance, but a confident air that spoke of knowing what he was talking about. Anyone listening to Lord would realize that he wasn't bluffing, perhaps even that he, too self-assured, didn't bluff.

With all the confidence in the world, Lord turned around. They wouldn't try to hurt him. A lot could be said for the fear in the dark of the night, the air of power he wore like he was comfortable with it. Why not speak aloud? Though if she returned in kind, he actually would lock her up in that tower. She suggested importing these humans, she couldn't back out now. "Van, you know you can't come outside. And you're tame... enough. You get to come out with me as much as possible, you know that. Don't sulk, it's unbecoming of your status."

Two more humans. Two more humans, one more hour. This would not be a problem, because they were under his spell. They had been from the moment they applied. True, not a real spell. Nothing physical to hold them. But emotionally, how could they not be trapped? They were to be allowed into forbidden land. No sane person would stop at the door. "Only another hour." He smiled. "And then we'll go in, regardless of who's here. You may continue to sit in silence. It's probably better that way. You might disturb the animals." Besides, even if they tried to leave, they couldn't. Well, if Vanalee was in a good enough mood to summon Symarin. Who would certainly behave, at least, if he wanted a toy.

The Seductress

The Seductress watched as Eos darted for the little sparrow, then as he sucked all the warmth from its body. She looked with a frown at the scene, she did not enjoy death. It was so…. Barbaric. Defiantly not becoming of a princess. As she watched she wrapped the fish in some of the cloth her was wearing, as to carry it without loosing the use of one of her hands by holding the fish.

Then suddenly Vanalee flew off, completely ignoring the Seductress. The Seductress thought this was incredibly rude and made a sour face as she watched her fly away. “Vanalee is so elegant in that ‘I could rip you apart then eat you’ kind of way. No sarcasm intended.” the Seductress thought to herself as she changed her sour face to a combative smirk.

The Seductress looked around at her fellow demons, feeling a little strange. None of them even knew her real name was Akara. Akara herself had almost forgot it after not speaking to anyone who knew it for three years. She warily looked over to Nyx who changed herself into that beautiful form. So very different from the monster she was before, so much less threatening. Akara smiled knowingly at the pretty demon. She knew that game. Look pretty and smile, no one will suspect a thing. Yet another reason to pay her extra close attention.

Without the Seductress realizing it, Tanis had climbed the wall and had transformed into her rarely seen human form. She changed with such ease and swiftness, how very frightening it was. Then Tanis addressed the group with a series of questions concerning the coming humans and commented on the weirdness of the frozen caucus. The Seductress nodded her head in agreement. It was quite weird and he should refrain from doing it in the presence of ladies.

Eos responded with a "Sorry. I'll try to be more normal next time I dispose of my frozen carcasses." Akara was amused by his response. How terribly not confrontational of him. Akara liked to be around Eos, as he was not as intimidating to her as say, Nyx. He sucked out the heat from living creatures and while he could do it to herself if he wanted, he probably would not want to as much. This is because aquatic demons are a cold blooded demon race. This may be since they are so much like fish and live deep in the cold ocean. Either way, Akara carried little heat and never felt as tempting to the Fireling while Nyx was the perfect predator of the Seductress’s secret largest weakness, fear.

The Seductress then decided to think on the questions Tanis had asked. “Well hello dear Tanis, it’s quite rare to see you in such a form.” remarked the Seductress with a charismatic tone. “I only know the name of mine. A… Landon Hawthorne? If you would like to see what some of them look like, they are over there” Said Akara as she pointed towards the humans.

The second part of Tanis’s questions intrigued the Seductress. It was true, what reasonable human would willingly come to live with demons? Did they really know what they were getting themselves into? “You know Tanis I hadn’t thought of that… I doubt any of them know what they are getting themselves into or they wouldn’t be coming here. What reasonable or sane human would come live with demons? Unless of course, they are all insane? Wouldn’t that be so like Drol to send us defective humans…” remarked the Seductress as she looked down to shoot a glare at Drol. She quickly looked back up, as to some how separate herself more from that human with the strange eyes.

Landon

Boredom. That was perhaps one of the most dangerous emotions to ever be associated with Landon. He looked around, as a demon appeared and Lord began speaking to it. He called it...Van. Landon looked up at the demon, tilting his head to the side, as though studying her. But more than just studying, in a way. Observing. Taking in.

He breathed a sigh of exasperation, moving nearer to the gate.

The cold was starting to get to him - his fingers were beginning to numb and the odd aura the entire place was giving him set him on an edge. He preferred not to speak to Lord, but if he had to...

He frowned, turning to Lord.

"Perhaps your letter went astray?" Landon asked, speaking for the first time in a while.

Vanalee

As her Lord spoke aloud to her, Vanalee couldn't help but to raise that familiar eyebrow. She then let out a chuckle; he definately knew how to show off. She couldn't blame him though - he was perfect in just about every way. Everything about her Lord was just certainly in place, and she couldn't have been more full of pride. Everything he knew, she had taught him, and he grasped her given knowledge easily. Though, she couldn't help but to growl at him, baring those blades for teeth.

Fine, I will scavage myself something to feast upon, but I warn you, my Lord, these humans will not like what I decide to satisfy my unbearable hunger.

Vanalee stood on the branch, letting her wings become comfortable again before taking off into the black sky. However, as she was about to do so, she felt what it seemed like eyes burning into her. The stench of blood swept across her and when she turned around, she saw one of the male humans gazing upon her. Vanalee fought against her temptations to jump off of the tree and land to devour him. She could hear his heart beating so beautifully in her ears. She stared hard back at him, piercing her dark, crimson eyes into his.

The beating heart began to fade and she could no longer smell the odor of the blood stream. Vanalee took off from the branch, sky rocketing into the black clouds. Her stomach's constant growling could now be heard and if she didn't eat anything soon, weakness would overwhelm her, and that was something she would not tolerate.
