Introduction
Setting: In Japan, not far away from the town the famous Reaper mob resides, is a city of dreams and wonders recently opened up by an famous inventor called Sibyl City. This city has the latest of technologies in Japan: holograms, automated apartments, cars that drive themselves for you, a holographic maid that cleans your apartment, the net (a cyber computer world you can visit and cloak yourself in a virtual costume to explore different forums, games, and other activities.) cloaking devices that can make your apartment appear to look however you want it to, even cloaking devices that change your clothes for you at the press of a button! And the best thing about this place? You get a net pass, apartment, and car with all of this new technology free if you move in! What's the catch? Well, there are a few...
Five years go, the creator of the city held a raffle in Japan. The only way you are allowed to live in Sibyl City is if you won a ticket in the raffle. (Raffles still happen on occasion, but rarely.) Once you do, you are allowed to live there, but you cannot leave without permission of the city mayor, you cannot take any of the technology this city has with you when you go, you cannot speak of the technology you have experienced while in the city, and while you live in Sibyl City you must abide by the new experimental Justice System set into place...
Their justice system is based on an experimental technology making it possible to instantaneously measure and quantify a person's state of mind and personality, outputting it in the form of a number. These machines are set up as scanners in the city that scan it's residents every day as they walk around. If the number is low on the scanner, you have a healthy state of mind and are unlikely to commit crimes. If the number is high, you will immediately be taken into custody just because you have an inner state of mind identifying you as a possible criminal. This information is recorded and processed, and the term "Psycho-Pass" refers to a standard used to measure an individual's being. If you have a high psycho-pass, you will be sent to a mental hospital for treatment, or if it is EXTREMELY high you could be executed, even on the spot by a police officer.
Anything can make your psycho-pass go up, so you'd better watch it! If you think bad thoughts about someone, your psycho-pass will go up. If you think bad thoughts in general, your psycho-pass will go up. If you think about committing a crime or killing someone, your psycho-pass will skyrocket. If you get under stress, are tortured, or have haunting memories your psycho-pass will get high. It is possible for your psycho-pass to lower with relaxation techniques, but
Coinciding with this new technology is the new set up for law enforcement being experimented with in the city. Officers are no longer allowed to carry regular guns, but a device called a dominater instead. The gun contains a scanner and it will only allow you to shoot if a person's psycho-pass is so high that they seem to have possible criminal intent. Now, police officers are called Inspectors, and Enforcers. Inspectors are officers with a low, healthy psycho-pass. Enforcers are former police officers who have grown to have an extremely high psycho-pass over time working as an officer (because seeing all the bad things as an officer put a strain on their mental state, thus making their psycho pass numbers increase.) Enforcers are forced to live in a holding place (like a big manor kinda). They are not allowed to leave unless an Inspector is with them.
Plot 1: A girl's distant relative has just died giving her an inheritance. The problem is there was a clause written in the relative's will that states the girl cannot collect her inheritance until she is married. (For some reason I will decide later) The girl can't wait that long, seeing she has no boyfriend and is not even near a point in her life where she would even consider getting married. However she really needs the money and she is determined to get it as soon as possible, at all costs.
So in order to be able to get her inheritance the girl comes up with a crazy plan. She is going to convince her best guy friend to pretend to her boyfriend. They would both have to convince her family they are madly in love, then get engaged and eventually married. Afterwards the girl would finally get her inheritance and give a percentage of it to the guy. Then a few months after the wedding they could divorce, pretend like it just didn't work out, and go their separate ways. At least that is how the plan is supposed to work.
The only problem? Her guy friend is a trouble maker. He's been in and out of gangs his entire life, struggles with his psycho-pass, and isn't the type of guy a girl could easily bring home to her mother. Will she be able to shape him up in time to show him to her family?
Characters for plot 1: One male, one female, the girl's parents, the girl's older sister, the older sister's fiance.
