Personality
Grey Kerrigan is, on the surface, straight-laced and serious. She is tough on her students and expects much from them, but only because she wants them to succeed. She has little tolerance for nonsense and is easily annoyed. While most may look at her as a stern and cold person, she has a definite soft spot for the underdog. She will not put up with any bullying, and will do anything in her power to help a struggling student.
History
Coming from a wealthy Pureblood family in Connecticut, Grey's parents sent her to the private all-female magic school, Salem Witches' Institute. While she did exceptionally well there as a student, graduating at nearly the top of her class, she could not help but feel that students at SWI were more indoctrinated rather than educated. Always having been both stubborn and an independent thinker, she was determined that she would make up her own mind about things rather than being told what she should think. This is the same philosophy she holds for her current students as well.
After graduating from SWI, Grey went on to work for the Magical Archives, recording and documenting important events, prophecies, etc relevant to the Magical United States. After working with the Archives for 6 years, she was offered the opportunity to teach History of Magic at Orenda Academy, which she quickly agreed to.
