When Raine reached the docks, she saw she wasn't the only one there. She vaguely recognized that girl who bumped into Tyler at the PokĂ©Mart – easily identified by the eevee in her arms. However, Raine never really was one for small-talk... it was awkward with people...

Instead, she surveyed her surroundings – it was clear from the looks of it that something wasn’t right. “Luce, stay close. I think something happened here,” she murmured, warily looking for a sign of danger.

Jessica turned back slightly, eyeing Dom as he ran toward her. It appeared they were no longer alone. A girl with an Eevee was approaching, but too far away to tell exactly who it was yet, as well as who appeared to be... Raine maybe? Jessica sighed and kept on toward the dock and the ferry, then waited for the others after she arrived. "What do you want?" she asked Dom bluntly.

Before he could complete his answer, and old man emerged from a small shack by the dock. "Oh, thank you!" he called out, shuffling forward slowly towards the group. After a good deal of waiting for the wrinkled man to make his way over to them, he finally took Dom's hand, then Jessica's, shaking each with as fervor as the elderly man could muster. "I saw what you two did. I thought that little punk would never go away, but you two scared him off! Heehee! Here, please, take these! It's the least I can offer you!" He gave each of them a Pokéball and 1000 Pokédollars.

Dom received a Pokéball!

Dom received 1000 Pokédollars!

"Now, the four of you want on this here ferry, right? It'll be 50 Pokédollars, then feel free to hop on board. Watch your step!"

Bianca, Raine, Dom, and Jessica each paid the fee and headed onto the boat with the old ferry man. "We're off!"

As the ferry churned and set into motion, Jessica returned her attention to Dom with the injured Zubat in his arms. "Did you want to talk to me?" she asked again.

Dom settled himself on the floor of the ferry, leaning against the railing. The battle had taken a lot out of him mentally. As he looked forward, Leafy sidled up beside him and laid down leaning against him, obviously tired from the days events, "Chiiik..." She cooed before closing her eyes. Dom petted Leafy on the for a moment whispering, "You did great. Rest now, when we get across we'll visit the PokeCenter, you'll be just like a new Leafy," Dom say with a sad smile. That cowardly bastard did it all. They had to get stronger so that they could fight people like that. Dom glanced over at Jessica. Even stronger than her. "Zubat?" The form in his lap called weakly, "Even you. We'll get your right as rain too." Dom said.

With the darkness upon them, Dom felt nervous, yet because there were three others on the Ferry with him, Jessica, Bianca, and Raine, he wasn't petrified. He'd be able to make it to the PokeCenter. He'd make it rather quickly too.

"What happened here?" Raine had asked earlier.

Dom shrugged from where he sat, "A bastard dressed in all black tried to dissuade me from riding the ferry," Dom said the word dripping with venom. "Stupid me decided that I've already come too far and decided, 'Oh hey, he can't be that tough' " Dom said, "Wrong. Because of me, Ducklett is knocked out, Leafy got hurt, and this Zubat is injured as well... Damn it. Maybe I should have turned around," Dom said reflecting... No, no he wouldn't have. He'd push through just like he did. But that still didn't mean he wished it would have went better. Dom shook his head, "Too late now. I just have to get the PokeCenter and heal these kids," Dom said, smile creeping back, "Chik," Leafy peeped in agreement. She could do with some Leafy time in the PokeCenter. "Bat..." The Zubat whimpered, causing Dom to pet the creature trying to sooth it.

"Did you want to talk to me?" Jessica asked.

Dom looked up at the woman, "I just didn't want you to leave on the Ferry without me. I don't think I could have trekked through the route again with everyone hurt like this," Not to mention it was dark enough to curl Dom's skin. Though, he wouldn't let anyone know that... "Oh, and thanks for stepping in when you did. I don't think Leafy could have made it, even if she's a tough little cookie.." Dom said, playing with Leafy's leaf.

Hm, so it was just a troublemaker in black? Raine watched as the girl with the eevee pet the tired chikorita. That troublemaker seemed to have done quite a number on Dom’s pokĂ©mon.

Raine thought about it as she leaned over the edge of the small boat, staring into the water. The mark she saw on that thug’s back bothered her. When she was little, her father had mentioned a legendary pokĂ©mon called Groudon, and a syndicate dedicated to awakening it in a different region. When she had asked about it later, she learned that there were different sorts of criminal organizations with different goals throughout the world.

Could Faria have one as well?

A worried, “Mareep,” from Luce brought her out of her thoughts. “I’m getting too far-fetched,” she sighed. “It was just a normal thug or something.” Turning her attention back to Luce, she told him, “We need to get stronger too. You, me, Treecko, and Spinarak – all of us.” It would be best if Luce learned a long-range attack quickly. Raine felt that they had been relying too heavily on his static ability. The mareep nodded in agreement. “I also need some money,” she sighed, patting her bag. “Looks like we’re off doing a few odd jobs or battles once we get off this thing.” If worst came to worst, she might have to resort to her old ways
but she didn’t want to do that.

Suddenly, Luce bleated eagerly, apparently wanting to see over the railing of the small boat at the water. “Oh right, it’s your first time on water, right?” she asked, and moved to scoop him up. “Wait, no. Sorry,” she said when she saw the bright glow of his tail. “You’ve gathered a bit too much static – you might stun me
” The mareep’s eager expression fell, and Raine felt genuinely sorry for him. PokĂ©mon abilities were apparently double-edged swords

“Maybe next time,” she assured him with a small smile. Luce was easy to read, and she found that cute. Staring back down into the dark water, she added, “Nothing much to see here anyway
but I bet it’s just teeming with pokĂ©mon down at the bottom.”

‘Hopefully none of them will attack the boat,’ she thought to herself, not completely denying the possibility.

Suddenly, Raine had an idea. She overheard the girl with the eevee naming a newly caught cherubi – it also helped Raine think of a name for her treecko. “Now if only the stubborn thing would like it,” she grumbled, dropping his pokĂ©ball. Luce scampered back behind her knees when the treecko emerged in a bright flash of light. The treecko looked up, staring at Raine with he yellow eyes. Raine decided to get it over with. “Okay, look. How about Silas? In an older language from a different region, I think it meant ‘of the forest’. You can’t have a problem with that, right?”

Raine waited as the treecko seemed to ponder this. It was a painfully long wait for some reason, but that might just have been her impatience. She couldn’t help a quiet exclamation of “Finally!” when the wood gecko pokĂ©mon nodded. “Oh right,” she added, remembering the third addition to her party, “you haven’t met our new comrade yet, have you Silas?” She also remembered that spinarak was in bad shape. It might have gotten some of his health back from the rest, but it was probably still suffering from Luce’s static. She felt it was a little cruel to leave the little spider paralyzed until they reached the next city, and slipped a cheri berry from her bag as she dropped the spinarak’s pokĂ©ball.

Silas coolly stepped away from the new pokĂ©mon, when it sluggishly scuttled in a circle. It stared up miserably at Raine. “Sorry,” she mumbled, “for destroying your home and beating you up.”

A little earlier, she had discovered the remains of a spider web on the soles of her shoes, making it obvious why the spinarak had attacked her. “I think I have a problem with invading pokĂ©mon territory,” she added, glancing at the treecko who seemed amused at the statement. She offered the spinarak the cheri berry as an apology. With a quiet shriek of acceptance, the spider took the berry in two of its many legs and eagerly sucked out the juices. Its paralysis soon subsided, and it was soon wildly scuttling circles around Silas, who stood looking rather irritated.

“Just enjoy the wind for now,” Raine said. “We’ll reach the mainland eventually.”

Adinitium Ferry Dock

Charlie and Claire made their way down the route. Her Poketch said that there was a small dock nearby, and she was dearly hoping it wasn't too expensive - if it was, she might have to stop and wait for another one of the trainers from her classes to battle and win some money from. It was already getting late, she knew...

Oh, well. She had a tent and a sleeping bag. She could camp out for the night, if the next city wasn't any bigger than the one she came from.

"I don't know how well you'll do on a boat, Charlie," she murmured, cutting through the last strip of tall grass and desperately trying to avoid another fight. When the wooden dock and a small house came into view, she smiled, walking up to the boating dock.

It seemed that the boat was already across the lake - that or she just couldn't see the boat on the dock. It had gotten dark, fast, and she was worried about the kind of Pokemon that might come out at night.

...Did other types of Pokemon come out after dark? She didn't know, but she really wasn't eager to find out. Her Chamander had already taken a pretty decent blow in his first fight, and she was hoping to wait until tomorrow to have him duke it out again, after he'd slept and revived some of his energy.

"Children?" Dom repeated the old man's words, leaning his head up against the railing. Leafy uttered a chuckle, comforted by Bianca's petting. "Oh har har, when were you born, hmm?" Dom said, teasing the Pokemon. The mention of resting at 'Old Sally's Rest Stop' seemed to have perked both Pokemon and Trainer up. Even the Zubat stopped whimpering and seemed to be listening to his savior and those around it intently. "We need to fix Ducklett up too... He battled his little aquatic heart out for us," Dom said, removing his drawing pad from his pack.

Sure it was dark, but the fact that that Raine's Mareep... Luce, it seemed, tail was glowing with pent up electricity provided a makeshift light for Dom to draw by. The boy shifted around enough so that he could draw on his knee while the Zubat lay in his lap. The Zubat squeaked, questioning Dom's action. "Easy now, I'm just going to draw you before you leave. Please?" Dom asked. "Zuu..." The Pokemon said, apparently allowing him the opportunity. With that, Dom began to set about his work. The pencil scratched across the pad smoothly and slowly began to reveal a Zubat within the folds of Dom's lap.

As Dom drew, he began to think upon the injured Ducklett. How the Pokemon bravely fought for him with all his might. Not bad for a companion he had only just met hours before hand. If all it took to make friends that quick was to throw Leafy at them, then maybe he should do it more often. His eyes drifted to the Pokemon for a moment... Nah, she would get pissed at him for even thinking about it. He softly laughed to himself... But that Ducklett still needed a name... He turned his attention back to the drawing while he thought on it...

"Tycho." Dom muttered.

Leafy glanced up at her Trainer with a questioning eyebrow. "Oh, uh, I was just thinking about the name we should give our new Ducklett friend," He explained, "He fought hard for us, I can't keep saying, 'Hey Ducklett,' can I?" Leafy nodded with a, "Chikorita.." And laid back down.

By this time the Ferry had arrived at the other side. Dom put the drawing pad back in his pack and held the Zubat gingerly again. He looked at the worn out Chikorita at his side and remembered something. "Come on Leafy, hop on back. If I remember correctly, I said you could ride if we caught the Ducklett-- Tycho," He said kindly. Without hesitation Leafy hopped onto his back and nestled into his backpack. Dom stood up and headed off of the Ferry, looking back at the other Trainers, "We'll, let's head off to the rest stop," he said gesturing with his head.

Tyler stretched, waiting until the last Ferry would arrive, and he promptly paid up, and sat down. It was getting pretty dark, so there was no way he could see much of the water. Torchic was taking his promised nap, leaving behind a few snores, still somehow clutching Tyler's Shoulders. He smiled, and hugged the flame bird, feeling the extreme warmth from it's belly. There wasn't much for him to think about, so he just sat there, ready to disembark when the time would come.

HE was afraid of going to sleep in his current state, so he focused on what might possibly lie ahead of this. Even weith his power up, Torchic still had one level before he could generate fire, witch meant more prolonged fights for Torchic until he pulled it off. He sighed, and felt the wind blow through his hair, and he looked up at the moon, staring at it as he had been prone too for so often. He felt the usual calming presence that he did, as he basked in it's light. So peacefull... so all knowing...

He yawned, and decided a nap would be best, knowing he would awake to the gentle rock of the ferry stopping, and the ferryman would probably shoo him off. Who cared about that, though? He was under the very moon, the orb of light that guided him more than the sun ever did.

Adinitium Ferry Dock - Sailing

Claire jumped in surprise. Certainly she would have heard him if she hadn't just awoken... Charlie had not noticed the old man either, looking at him with a hint of unease.

"Oh, well, thank you!" She said, taking a seat on the ferry. She'd never ridden a boat before (or, that she could remember, at least) and, after taking a glance to her Charmander, who was sprawled on her lap, belly-down, she was worried he would get sea sick.

"You okay, buddy?' She asked him, putting a hand on his back. He let out a grunt of response, wide green-blue eyes shutting; Claire had to bite her lip not to laugh. She would have assumed the poor thing to be afraid of the water, or, possibly have a bit of contempt for it, but she never would have expected a Pokemon to get sea sick.

"Oh, sir," she said, looking at the old man, "How much will this cost?" She had taken her backpack off, digging through her bag to find her wallet.

"For a lovely lass like yourself? Just a mere 50 Pokedollars!" the man smiled as he took her money. "Now you be careful when we get to the other side you hear? It's not all that safe to go on with just one of those little Poke-fellas," he said with a wink. "Good luck little miss!"

Adinitium Pokemon Center

Before Sean could give an answer, Mike sat down next to him. The trainer the started to eat again, trying to get rid of some of the tension and making him less obvious. Atleast he hoped it did. He hated being the center of attention or starting conversation, they were both things that he shouldn't be a part of, and yet, Mike had just done both so he could he sit and eat.

Mike looked over at Seanapillar, and felt a pang of jealousy. Sean had been able to evolve his pokemon so quickly already. The trainer then sighed. Of he had, it was a bug type after all, and those evolve pretty quickly. Mike looked down at Doug's poke' ball, knowing it would be quite awhile before it evolved. Even his newly caught Hoothoot, would evolve before the Aron did, level wise of course.

The trainer then looked over at Joshua. If Mike remembered correctly, he had a Buneary, Babs or something. And that pokemon evolved by happiness, which could evolve a lot quicker then Doug. He sighed, as remembered more and more of his fellow trainers that started yesturday's pokemon would evolve before his Aron. But, Mike soon realized he didn't care, as long as Doug would be his partner.

After a few minutes of awkwardly eating. Mike remembered why he had come over in the first place. So, finishing the food in his mouth, he coughed, trying to get Sean's attention. "Hey Sean, I haven't seen your friend..." Taking a moment to act like he was trying to remember her name, even though he knew it very well. "Amy, since yesterday when she went off to do her..." Taking another moment, this time, actually trying to remember why she left. "Contest battle and I'm kinda getting worried for her. So, to simply put my mind at ease, have you seen her since then?" Mike then finished that all off with a nervous, and slightly forced, smile.

"I guess you could say that." Derek responded with a playful smile. When Sor had called out for him to wait up, he couldn't stop himself from speeding up a bit for fun. "But then, you move slower then a Slowpoke." He added with a chuckle. Then the word 'Spinarak' was said, which made him shiver for a second instinctively. "Yeah, I owe it to Jet to give it my all." He answered, petting Jet's head as he did. Soon after Sorence began rambling on again, which just made him laugh. "Seems you have a habit to do that." He started with a big grin. Then he thought about it, and thought about it, and thought about it until; "It's little more complicated then that." He said, finally talking again. "You see, when Jet hatched from his egg, I got this sort of, feeling, and I just knew the two of us were gonna be best buds." He started to rub the back of his head, realizing how corny he sounded. "Anyway, I decided to only catch Pokemon that I get that same sort of 'feeling' from." He finished off with another smile. He knew he sounded weird saying this, but he figured it was just something one gets from growing up in a Pokemon Daycare. No sooner then when the ferry was in view, Sorence was sprinting towards it. "Who's the eager one now?" He called out, running after him.

Frank was just getting ready to head out when he heard someone climb aboard his boat. He turned around to meet the youngster with a smile. "Welcome aboard! It cost 50 Pokedollars per person." Then he saw a familiar face hop on. "Derek! It's been awhile." He said, taking their payments before walking to the front to start the boat. "Hey Franky, how you doing?" Derek asked, sitting down against one of the rails. "Better, now that a couple of youngsters chased away that hoodlum who was keeping everybody from coming here." Frank responded, steering out of the port.

Adinitum Ferry. Mid-Way

Sorence paid Frank the 50 Pokedollars and stepped onto the boat, following Derek onto the railing on the front of the boat. He politely smiled towards the conversation the duo were having. He was a little surprised about the people who chased a man who harassed riders on the boat. He wanted to keep out of their conversation, seeing how he didn't know the man, but he couldn't resist asking him about it. "Hey, Franky? Do you know who chased the guy out?" Franky gave Sorence h funny expression. He didn't know the boy, but he looked like he knew Derek. "Well, I don't know the guy and gal who did it, but I can tell you about the guy who was here. He wore an all black suit with a giant 'F' in the middle of it. He would run around with his Skunky and Zubat and terrorize all the trainers who come by here." He said while speeding up the ferry. Sorence nodded at the idea of the man he was giving him.

Sorence then asked, "What about the trainers that took him down?" "Well," Frank began. "I'm not sure about their names, but I saw the boy had a Ducklett and a Chickorita while the girl had a Pichu. The 'F' guy then ran off after losing to them, but left his Zubat behind. The boy took the Zubat with him and I haven't seen them since." Sorence flipped over, elbows on the railing. He looked off towards the other shore; they were almost there, in just a few minutes. He was pondering for a few minutes while Frank talked to other people on the ferry. He then flipped over again to talk with Frank. "Well, I don't remember anyone... Oh wait! I remember. Dominic had a Chickorita. Magby tackled Chickorita on the day we left. I'm not so sure on the chick though. Any idea Derek?"

Frank yelled towards the group on the boat, "Ok! We're at shore." Sorence pushed off the rail he was leaning on and exclaimed, "It is time to go Derek, let's skip the stop and get on the road!" He sprinted off the boat and yelled back to Frank, "Thanks man for the ride. Definitely will come again!"
