Shade smirked. "Fine by me. I'll take a seviper and ariados." Thunder grinned. "And I'll help you out. Might just take down another seviper too along the way."

Layne's mind was appalled. Layne didn't know if the Riolu was as skilled as she boasted to be, or if she was just in a blind rage for what had happened, but either way, Layne just couldn't believe how annoying the situation was starting to become. If Riolu was as good as she was boasting to be, then she should probably know that no matter how strong she was, she was heavily outnumbered. She managed to get caught by a Seviper. Granted that was by surprise, but even without the element of surprise, there were now more Seviper, and even Ariados in the picture now. More problems.
Layne's mind focused on the pokemon of the group. Seviper. Three of them. And Riolu wanted a piece of them. The first thing that came into mind was one of Seviper's tolerances. Fighting moves. Unless Riolu knew what she was doing in the mind, her moves wouldn't do much good. So if she got in trouble, he'd probably need to help, as he knew one move which would hurt Seviper rather big, due to it's weakness to ground moves. Dig.
Ariados, two of them. Bug and poison. Umbreon might have a hard time here, and none of the group knew a fire base move, at least Layne didn't THINK so. If they did, well, the Ariados wouldn't be much a problem. But nothing Layne knew would help them very much against the Ariados. There was mainly one thing on Layne's mind that concerned him as far as Ariados were concerned...
Ariados silk was strong stuff. Layne himself had got caught in it as a child, and that was no fun to get out of. Come to think of it, Layne couldn't exactly remember how he got out of it, but it required the help of one of his close combat training teachers. Layne had been careful of where he walked since then, but still, when he even felt Silk that strong, you had to consider your next step wisely. Now they were facing two Ariados. For all Layne knew, they were in their nest, which meant Riolu had walked straight into it. He didn't know, but whichever the case, there wasn't much time to discuss what was going through his mind.
"This is no time for boasting of strength." Layne said, as he turned around to make sure they didn't come around and attempt to pull an attack which involved them surrounding the group of four. Layne wasn't going to be the one to throw the first punch. He never did. He always let his opponent move first, then he could attack based off what the opponent was doing. Layne spoke up again. "Be careful where you step, and watch out for the Ariados, their silk is hard enough to escape."
He sighed and told himself. "I'm never getting myself into this again......"

Team Frontier continued through the forest. A small caterpie perched, on Pyro's back, having been rescued by them. Pyro smiled as he carried the Caterpie, and said, with a little exhaustion, "Faring any better, Caterpie?"
The caterpie giggled, and said, "Much better since you guys came to rescue me. Thank you again!"
Pyro chuckled, and let out a sigh of exhaustion. Autumn heard it, and turned to give a small laugh at Pyro. "Feeling a little tired, there Pyro?"
"Maybe a little." he said.
Autumn sighed and shook her head, smiling. "You wanna take a little break from that?"
"No I'm good," Pyro said almost immediately.
"Pyro," Autumn said, knowing his sense to be a guy who took up more than he could chew sometimes, "You know you can-"
A rustle came from a distance. And the sounds of possible fighting."
Pyro looked in the direction as well as Autumn. "What do you suppose that is?"
"I don't know," Autumn said, "but let's go check it out."

I'm not boasting! Riley leaps for the Seviper that had attacked her. Shadow Claw! Dark purple claws shot out and hits the Seviper square on. Iron Tail! Her tail glows white and she gets the two Ariados as well. They all fly backwards and Riley lands neatly on the ground. She steps back, letting the others get to fight.

Meanwhile, shade had already taken out a seviper with dig and dark pulse.

Layne barely recovered enough to roll out of the way of an incoming poison sting attack. He then summoned enough of his energy to use Iron tail into the head of the ariados.
A small bright light caught Layne's attention. The Riolu was attempting Aura Sphere. At first Layne thought how weird it was for Riolu to know such an attack at such young age, but then the attack didn't complete. Layne focused. A small, but growing orb of water began to form in beween his paws. When it got about the size of a decent rock, he raised it above his head, and then brought it down to the ground again, which executed one of his signature moves, Water Pulse..
((I don't know what the plan is with the Aura Sphere, failing or not, but I dunno what else to really post))

Riley's move hits the Seviper in the side and sends it flying. The Seviper flails for a second, then runs off. "Retreat!"

Rai steps forward. "Crystal wants to make a wish, duh."
Chatot shakes his head. "What kind of wish?"
Rai frowns. "Is that really any of your business Chatot?" Bird-brain......
Chatot crosses his wings. "As the Head of Intelligance, it is."
Rai crosses his arms too. "Uh, no it isn't."
"Yes it is!"

Thunder and Shade
Thunder whistled. "Pretty good for a riolu. You know how to do an aura sphere. Or most of it." Shade turned to Layne and sighed. "Truth is, we aren't a rescue team. But-" Thunder jumped. "Dude! You gotta stop telling our story to people. You told it to a volbeat before we came here!" Shade hissed. "Would you be quiet?" "Hey no need to be grumpy about it." Shade rolled his eyes. "Anyway, we did meet you at that cliff. We didn't want to be in that gang we were in before because we were sick of the bad life. So we were going to start over as a rescue team, and build a new name for ourselves." "If Daisy doesn't hunt us down first." Thunder muttered darkly.

Rai scowled. "Oh, stop crying for no reason Crystal! It isn't worth it!" She thinks she's a freak? Wow, at least she doesn't have MY problems...
Riley
Riley rolls her eyes. Yeah, so what if it isn't perfect? She was working on it still!

Layne sighed at the rather response Riolu made to the compliment. "It doesn't matter. It will come in time, as it does with most your kind." Layne however didn't know a Riolu completely learning Aura Sphere until they evolved into Lucario. Of course he wasn't a fighting type so he didn't know if she would learn before evolution or not. And he didn't know if he really cared that much. The other two pokemon, the eevee evolutions begna.
One of them, the Umbreon began to talk, "Truth is, we aren't a rescue team. But-" and that was as far as the Umbreon got before the Jolteon abrubtly stopped his story and as the two exchanged words, Layne popped his neck. He hadn't done much fighting, and probably preffered it that way. The fight to him seemed pointless, stupid, and unnecessary. Sometimes he couldn't understand the thoughts that went through pokemon's heads. The Umbreon continued. "Anyway, we did meet you at that cliff. We didn't want to be in that gang we were in before because we were sick of the bad life. So we were going to start over as a rescue team, and build a new name for ourselves."
Layne spoke up, not hearing what Jolteon muttered, " "Well, I guess it's.......understandable." The way he had intervened between them and that Pikachu earlier and how they walked away provided a little support there. Layne spoke up, "I don't know what any of your plans are, but I don't plan on spending the rest of my day here. I'm going to head back to Treasure Town shortly. So..."
That was when a Charmander, a Caterpie and another Buizel appeared on the top of the pit area they had just been in. The Charmander spoke up. "Is everything okay? We heard a commotion, and thought there could be trouble."
Layne shook his head, "Everything's fine now. Just some unwanted hooligans causing trouble."
The Buizel looked at the Charmander, and shrugged. "Come on, looks like there's nasty weather ahead, we need to return Caterpie to it's mother."
With that they disappeared. Layne sighed. His day had had enough surprises for him. "I'm going back, so......yeah." And turned around to start off.

Layne turned around, a bit confused. When the Riolu caught up, he asked, "Need something?"
