Zara
Even though Zara knew the negative consequences of teenage pregnancy, and didn't exactly condone, she couldn't help imagining the end result...she liked babies. Up until they learned to talk and turned on you. "I wonder what the baby will look like," she mused, comparing Mikhail and Hallie together in her mind and trying to find the combo in baby form, "I'll bet it's cute. You know what's funny, though? Or ironic. Mikhail's parents were both teenagers when he was born. I think his mom was like 16, and his dad was only 19. And they also weren't married at the time. And now Mikhail's kid is going to be born the same way! What a riot."
James seemed distracted, which Zara understood. She was mostly babbling to herself. Though it would be nice if he listened even just a little. When he asked if he was hungry, though, she nodded enthusiastically. She felt like she hadn't eaten in days!
She led both of them to the cafeteria, where Danny, Chandler, Zoe, and a new guy had gathered already. "Sheesh, another new kid?" she asked, piling on breakfast. For some reason, she didn't feel like eating pancakes, and went for the waffles instead. "You think we should join them, or should we sit by ourselves?"
Mikhail
Hallie ran off, demanding to be alone, and Mikhail was honestly very confused.
He didn't know what he did to set her off. Was it something he said? He called her 'star-head'...did she not like the nickname? Or did she think it was something more than that? He thought it was fairly casual. He had called her star-head even when they weren't dating! Right? He was pretty sure he did....or at least something to that affect...besides, she had started the nicknames with "Russian boy". He was just following suit! It wasn't like he had called her 'babe'.
He debated going after her, but she explicitly otherwise. He sighed, and leaned his one cue stick against the table. He looked out at the remaining balls, and after a few seconds, squinted slightly. One by one, they rolled towards the pockets, accelerating as they neared, like they were falling sideways, or the table had suddenly tilted. The stripes fell in first, then the solids, and finally the 8-ball. He replaced the cues and left.
After standing in the empty hallway, wondering where he should go without upsetting Hallie, he finally elected to go back to his room. It was close to her, but hey, it was his room. He could go there if he wanted, and he'd just leave her be. He doubted he'd run into her, and if he did, he'd just look the other way...
Wait, was he trying to avoid her then? When did that happen? Even if she didn't want to be with him, shouldn't he still be there for her? But if he cared, he should just give her space....ugh, this was all so confusing. He wanted to talk to Zara, but last he saw, she had been concerned with James. Funny how close the two had gotten. A few weeks ago, Mikhail would have been totally against the idea, but as of late, he thought much better of James. Especially since without him, Zara would have died. Or close to it.
He found his room finally, bypassing the activity in the cafeteria, and immediately turned on his computer, still not noticing the familiar clothes that didn't belong to him. Blasting Britney Spears, he decided to clear his mind and relax before talking to Zara. Even though he had an outer layer of calm, internally he was a mess of confusion, hurt feelings and regret, to name a few. He needed to take his mind off things, and hacking was the solution.
