Don't talk to me.

0 · 2,718 views · located in Psy Prep

a character in “Psy Prep”, as played by Jadebud98

Description

Name: Zoe Find

Appearance: Image

Age: 16

Power: Telekinesis

Sexual Preference: Straight

Personality: Zoe is cold an cynical. She insults others who try to open her up to them. She fears that she'll let her emotions run wild so she tries to not have any. Zoe does have a warmer side to her though, when you've helped her or she opens herself up to you, she'll always be willing to help but she may end up getting too attached. When it comes to romance Zoe doesn't have a clue. She ends up blushing, stammering, and making a total fool out of herself. She is often insecure and sometimes jealous of others who have a good relationship with the person she likes. Zoe can't deal with anger because when she gets angry her powers spur out of control and begin controlling her.

She masks her insecurities and fears under a wall of silence and anger, which usually pushes others away. She fears herself and what others think about her completely, and she tries her best not to make that clear. In large groups she can begin panicking as she's not used to being around so many people, her fear stems from her destructive powers and her trust issues with herself and others. She can at times become very depressed, especially when those she becomes attached to do something to hurt her. She tries her best to not get close to anyone but when she does she puts too much trust in them.

History: Zoe used to be the only child from a rich family. Her parents always expected her to be perfect so that she wouldn't destroy their image. Her mother and father would assault her to get their points across. Some days when her father came home he would sexually abuse her. One day she had enough and her rage unleashed her powers blowing up the house and killing her parents. Everyone thought she was dead as well, except the school. They found her playing guitar at a club and invited her to go to the Prep. Since she was living on the streets and feared her powers would go out of control again she went with them.

So begins...

Mikhail

Worry washed over his face when Hallie said she wasn't feeling well. He felt her forehead. "You feel pretty warm. Maybe you have a fever?" he asked. They had been in the rain for quite a while. Was it from that?

He rubbed her back. "Do you need to throw up?" he asked, grabbing one of the trash bins and handing it to her. He searched through the cabinets and found a disposable thermometer next to some aspirin. He took both, pocketing the aspirin. He uncapped the thermometer. "Say ahh," he instructed in a thick Russian accent, hoping to make her smile, "So Dr. Petrov can take your temperature. Though, if we were in Soviet Russia, temperature take you."

Zara

"Join?" Zara asked, "What, you got a party in there?" Her tone wasn't harsh, and she actually felt more awake, despite it being around 2 in the morning. No curfew here, apparently. "You smell like cookies....don't tell me there actually is a party!" she exclaimed.

Zoe

When Hallie and Mikhail left, Zoe began rushing, looking through all the pockets she could find for anything suspicious, so far nothing crazy; mostly matches, pictures, and things like that. Zoe stopped panicking though; just in case Hallie was watching her emotions. She stood back up and wrapped the towel around her more tightly, and exited the room. It was a failed mission, but it wasn't going to be her last. When she was done she got changed into a black shirt and some sweatpants; waiting in her room, and hoping they didn't have any more questions. She was still feeling feverish from earlier on and hoped that they wouldn't be too suspicious.

Adrien

"Awesome," Adrien said smiling. He wasn't too sure what Mountain Dew was but he was excited to have a good time with everyone. Zara, Chandler, and Danny were kind of his best friends in the school, even though he only knew Chandler and Daniel for a day. When he got over to the group he smiled at everyone, Zara and Chandler working on getting the Mountain Dew and Arian looking a bit...sad? He smiled at her "Having fun?" He asked gauging her reaction.

Chandler came back; sadly with no Mountain Dew, which apparently was soda. But they didn't need drinks to have a good time.

Adrien

"Uh...sure I guess," Adrien responded to Danny. It seemed clear enough that Zara wanted to be alone; or at least didn't want a crowd with her, so Adrien decided he might as well leave. "If you need anything make sure to tell us," he said to Zara. He left quietly; something that he didn't usually do and started heading towards his dorm. It had been kind of lonely in there these days, and he wondered if he was going to be getting a new roommate soon...

Zoe

Zoe finished playing on the guitar; she had simply been freestyling, it was more relaxing, less structured. She looked at her hands, calloused and worn; a girls hands shouldn't be like this...she thought to herself somberly. "Hmph," she muttered to herself irritably and put her guitar by her bed. She moved to the bathroom, looking at herself in the mirror; her scraggly black hair had gotten a bit longer than she liked, her weary eyes still had bags under them. "Ugh," she grunted, flipping her bangs over her eyes. It was obvious why Mikhail chose Hallie over her; the girl was prettier, kinder, more experienced than she was. Hallie was special. She was nothing.

Zoe slumped onto her bed. What wasn't obvious was who Mikhail was...she made a decision. Her second mission would be to find out from James, all she had to do was ask him...she had talked to him before, but that was during their day at the gym, and things went a bit wild that day. She just hoped that Arian girl wouldn't still be hooked onto him.

((Remember, once we're done with this day we're going to have a time skip, so make sure you finish everything you want.))

Adrien

Adrien eventually made it to his room, noticing bags that weren't his. They weren't unpacked either...he had a new roommate! Adrien bounced on top of his bed. It had to be Chandler or Danny, or maybe even a brand new student! Adrien flopped down on his bed, wondering who would come through the door. He hoped it would be Chandler or Danny, they were a lot more relaxed and fun then a lot of people in the school, and they would make his year a bit brighter if they were roommates.

Zoe

Zoe got herself to sit up in her bed again. She wanted to sleep but she just couldn't, some random thought would pump through her head after another. At the moment she was yelling at herself for caring about her looks and her appeal; why did she care about that? Who was she trying to impress. She started shaking her head rapidly, trying to take away all of the thoughts. She turned to her guitar again. Maybe one more song before she went to sleep...she couldn't resist it...she began playing again.

Chandler

Zara's apology didn't help much, but he put on a smile and bid everyone goodnight before popping back to the dorm hall. Locating his door, he listened and heard guitar music playing. So she was alive. That was good.

Opening the door, he put on a smile and went to straighten his scarves, only to remember he had given both away. "Hello roomie," he said as cheerfully as he could without seeming creepy. He crossed to what he presumed was his bed and sat down on the edge of the mattress. "Looks like you cleaned yourself up. I'm Chandler," he said, holding out a hand to her. She seemed rather out of it, somewhat grumpy.

He hoped they would at the very least get along. Part of him sighed, looking at her expression. Everyone so far had been either decent or great. Of course he would end up with the one grumpy-ass kid as a roommate. Why did they put boys and girls together anyway? He reenforced his smile though, figuring he shouldn't judge anyone too quickly.

Zoe

Suddenly, a new student entered her room. Zoe, surprised by the entrance, reacted by dropping her guitar, and cringed as it hit the floor; that wasn't good. Her eyes drifted into a more sad state. She used her bare foot to slide it under her bed, it was probably broken now, it didn't matter anyway...it was the only thing she had left of her father, and though she didn't really care much for the guy, it got her through life after the...incident. Maybe there was some sentimental value...

She turned to the new student, named Chandler. It seemed he was the guy who walked in on her while she was on the floor. "Uh...Zoe," she said shaking his hand. What was she doing? She didn't even know the guy but they were exchanging pleasantries. Well...that was what you're supposed to do when meeting someone. But why now? Why with this guy? She presumed it was because he didn't seem as weird as the others, that she was tired, or just wanted someone to talk to after everything.

She looked at him; his clothes weren't exactly regular to say the least but whatever, as long as he wasn't a creep. "Don't worry about the guitar...in fact, there's no need to really even talk about it," Zoe mumbled. He, along with Feliciano, wherever he was were the only two people who knew about her guitar and the fact that she played one but Chandler didn't use his powers to find that out...or did he? "What's your power?" Zoe asked looking around the room "I've got telekinesis," she said. She wasn't used to this, it was kind of awkward...hopefully Chandler would be a lot more comfortable.

Chandler

He didn't mention the guitar and made a note not to again. Seemed to strike some sort of nerve. "Telekinesis. That's cool." He vanished and popped into being right in front of her with a broad grin. "I can teleport." He gave a wink and backed away to collapse onto his bed. "Met everyone else too, at least I think it was everyone. Or mostly everyone. How do you like it here? Apparently it's not the best of schools, but these mattresses," he laughed, beginning to bounce his body up and down. "To die for! Am I right?"

He wasn't sure how to act around her. She seemed to be in a bad mood, but he wasn't going to let that get him down. Sitting up, he motioned around the room. "Make something move," he suggested. "Show me."

Zoe

Well, Chandler seemed to be a bit more comfortable. Chandler's teleporting kind of surprised Zoe but she didn't exactly show it outwardly; however she eyed him oddly as he enjoyed his bed. "The school...the school kind of sucks..." Zoe said, leaving out her thoughts on the students. "I guess I never really noticed it, but these mattresses are really nice," Zoe said looking down at her bed with a slight smile.

When he asked her to make something move Zoe's mood changed completely. She didn't exactly like using her powers, especially around other people. "You've used them before, nothing bad's going to happen," Zoe reassured herself silently. Realizing she said that out loud she looked away from Chandler, hoping he didn't hear her. "Um, okay; how about that vase," Zoe said pointing towards a vase on one of the dressers. She then used her powers to lift it, spinning it around as it floated; then before she broke anything, she gently put it down. She said a flimsy "Tada" and turned around to Chandler. "So, what do you think of everything so far?" Zoe asked, brushing a strand of hair out of her eyes.

Adrien

Adrien had a happy surprise when Danny turned out to be his roommate. "Hey Danny," he said gladly. "Today was fun...well, except for the party of course," Adrien said remembering Zara. "But did you enjoy your first day at Psy Prep?" He asked smiling. "I'm so glad you and Chandler came; everyone is always kind of serious, even Zara at times," he said as he yawned tiredly

James

He was hungry, very much, but shook his head after looking at the digital clock in the room. "It's like 3 in the morning," he commented, folding his arms and watching her closely. He wondered if she was using her powers. His crystal wasn't in his hands so he wasn't sure. "Did you want to talk or what?"

Was he being harsh/ He didn't think so. Arian had been acting strangely, like a lost little girl who thought more of herself than others around her. But maybe she was just hurting. He did know about her sister. Her life wasn't a piece of nice cake.

Mmmm...cake...

"Look," he sighed, straightening up. "You don't have to say anything. Neither of us are obligated to each other in any way and if there's something wrong between us, then maybe we shouldn't be doing stuff. Personally, I like having fun but if we're going to be going in circles like this, I'm ending it now before it gets too complicated and annoying. So is it going to be annoying? Honestly."

Chandler

He clapped a few times to make her feel better, smiling all the while. "I like it," he said. "Despite the feeling of foreboding and entrapment." Laughing he got to his feet and then teleported back to the kitchen, grabbing a few items from the fridge and returning two moments later with a handful of cheese sticks, crackers and two bottles of water. "Food?" he offered happily.

Collapsing back on his bed, he continued, "Everyone seems cool. You're holed up in here though," he observed with a raised eyebrow. "What's that about?"

Zoe

Foreboding and entrapment...it was feeling more and more like that every day wasn't it? "...No, I'm not really hungry," Zoe responded, her stomach rumbled in rebuttal but Zoe ignored it, she didn't exactly have an appetite at the moment. "I'm not really the social type," Zoe said looking towards Chandler. "...I'm not exactly the nicest...or most likable person either I guess," Zoe said, a tint of sadness hidden in her bland tone. "There isn't really anyone in this school that I'm close to is there? But whatever, I don't need companionship; a friend to confide in isn't on my list of priorities..." Zoe thought in her head.

Chandler

Chandler's eyes narrowed. "Well if you believe you're unlikeable, then you will be." He collected the food on his own bed and laid back, unwrapping everything and munching down a few times. He kept his eyes on Zoe. She was one of those girls who wasn't quite sure of themselves yet. Could go either way from here. She could slowly spiral downward into some sort of depression or...she could get over it. Like he had.

"I never thought I was likeable either," he said with a smile. "Then I figured no one else is really better than me and no one is really worse than me. We're all human, right? That's all we are. So...no point trying to get people to like us for false reasons...I...uh...I ramble," he added, laughing a little. "I just hate seeing someone pretty and good with music thinking she doesn't have anyone to turn to. Maybe that's your thing but...it can't be fun."

Zoe

Zoe didn't know exactly how to respond. When Chandler began what he was saying was true. But then towards the end it seemed like he was just saying things to make her feel better about herself. The compliment did have its effects on her though as she smiled softly. But then when she noticed herself like that she cut the smile; returning to a blank expression. "Listen, I don't need your fake compliments," Zoe said scowling. She was pushing him away; why did she have to be so defensive. Zoe turned away from him, moving under the covers of her bed. "He probably hates me now," Zoe thought to herself, "But it doesn't matter the more I like or trust a person; the more they kick that trust in the mud," Zoe thought remembering Mikhail and wondering what secrets he was still hiding from her.

Adrien

Adrien stayed quiet as Danny pulled his ear to the wall. He wondered what he was listening into, and what he was listening for but decided to mind his own business. When Danny came back they started talking again. "It's okay," Adrien said smiling. "Well, there's Mikhail, Hallie, Zoe, and James; and then there's the faculty," Adrien said in response to Danny's question.

Then Arian walked into their room seemingly out of nowhere asking what they were doing up so late. "Uh, just talking," Adrien said laughing to himself ;when Danny asked about the boyfriend he was probably talking about James, so he was probably listening to a conversation between the two of them.

Hmm...this chick obviously didn't like him. Chandler sighed audibly and dumped the food on the bedside table, rolling over onto his stomach and sighing yet again. He popped to the light switch, shut it off, then reappeared back in bed. He wasn't sure why she didn't like him, he though he was an all right guy. He didn't dwell though. Closing his eyes, he wondered what tomorrow would bring.

Zoe

Chandler didn't respond well to her reaction obviously. Zoe curled herself in her blankets, closing her eyes and willing herself to sleep. She just blew her chance of having an actual friend. "Oh well, I haven't even seen what he acts like with the others, probably like a total idiot..." Zoe thought to herself. But she was only lying to herself; she knew that she wanted a friend...to be friends with Chandler, but she was just too scared of the consequences.

Adrien

"You guys go ahead," Adrien said while yawning, "I'm too tired to eat." Not only that but Adrien thought that he might as well leave the two alone or whatever. He assumed they would be back soon though because it was really early in the morning, probably even past three...

It had been two weeks since that day. Throughout the course of those two weeks the students of Psy Prep went through training; strengthening their powers and giving them more control over them.

At 7:00 a.m. an announcement went off in the school: "Hello, students; today you'll be receiving another mission so please report outside at once."

Zoe

Zoe woke up yawning groggily. It had been a pretty long time since they had their last mission so she wasn't sure if she was ready for it. At least now objects wouldn't break around her when she was only slightly frustrated...

Zoe got up, picking out her clothes for the day: a black pullover hoodie, dark blue pants, and black combat boots. Once she was done picking them out she went into the bathroom to quickly change. Her hair was a mess as usual even after brushing it; she had attempted to cut it over the week but she failed miserably and her hair was sadly uneven. Exiting the bathroom she turned to Chandler; she was about to say something but decided against it; she wasn't sure exactly how they were over the past two weeks. So, she left the room by herself, starting to make her way outside.

Adrien

When Adrien heard the announcement he was overwhelmed with joy, it had been so long since they had a mission and he was so excited. He jumped out of bed quickly retrieving his clothes: a light blue t-shirt, dark blue pants, black sneakers, and the scarf that Chandler had gave him. He blundered around the room excitedly turning to Danny. "Hurry up, we're gonna have a mission!" He said enthusiastically, remembering that Danny never went on a mission. "They're really awesome and fun so we better get outside quickly," he said, eagerly anticipating the mission.

Hallie

She laughed and snatched the pants off her head before slipping back into the bathroom, pushing the door shut with a click! She allowed him to have his emotions fully to himself and she relished in the feeling of not being overwhelmed by his emotions either. She still had trouble with the others though. Being around Mikhail had helped her train herself to guard her mind against him. Not so much the others.

She was improving though, learning self-defense moves and hoping this mission showed off the sort of team she had started to see form among the 'troops' during the past few days. Part of her hated to admit it, but she liked the training, which in turn, meant she liked being here.

Talk of conspiracy and sabotage died down quite a bit. Really the group had simply started hanging out, even outside of class. It was strange...and gave her bad dreams. She told no one this, she was a paranoid person to begin with. Cynical to the end. So of course she was questioning the sudden ease around them. This mission could be a trap, she wasn't sure. But there was no point bringing anyone else down.

Then there was Mikhail, always so...well, perfect really. At least, that's what she told herself. He hadn't done anything wrong, nor did she expect him to. But she still felt a twinge of hesitation at times. Wondering about him, just how loyal he was, just how strong his feelings were...did he truly think they had a future? Hallie knew he wasn't a forthcoming with her emotions as some others at the school, so she didn't bring it up. Not yet anyway. She was happy just being happy for once. Maybe it was selfish, but she couldn't help it.

It had been ten whole days since she even considered hurting herself.

The weight of red blotted thoughts had lifted from her shoulders, not entirely, but enough that Hallie started believing she had a purpose here. The mere image of herself as she glanced in the mirror startled her a bit. She never thought herself pretty, but knew others did. Nowadays...she felt good...even liked how her nose was the perfect shape for her face...how her hazel eyes glinted brown and green...she liked...herself.

Dressed and smiling, she came out the bathroom and donned an extra blue hoodie with her dark red boots (courtesy of Zara's connections) and linked her arm with Mikhail's. "Shall we head out then?"

Chandler

Something about this mission business bugged him.

Since arriving, he had joined the other students in training and hanging out and overall bonding with them in a way that he had never bonded with anyone else. He liked James, he had low laugh and casual stride, whereas Danny and Adrien stuck out as more optimistic faces that he enjoyed seeing everyday. The girls were great too, everyone getting along rather smoothly. Even with Zoe. They hadn't spoken much, even being roommates, but he had gotten a smile out of her a few times which he thought was just as good as any conversation.

Zara appeared, punching him in the arm. She had forgiven him tenfold it seemed from the first night and they were fine friends now.

He punched her back. "Are you?"

Grinning to James, he saw the bronze-haired boy glancing back to see Hallie and Mikhail joining them. That's when Chandler noticed his roommate. He'd wondered where she had gone. She stood off to the side and he smiled, waving her over and greeting Hallie and Mikhail in the process.

((Silent, they're all still in the school.))

Adrien

"Hm, how do you explain what missions are?" Adrien asked thinking to himself. "Well, it hasn't been anything like spy stuff but we basically have a task to complete," Adrien said, remembering the wilderness. "We had to survive in the wilderness," Adrien said. "Let's go!" He said excitedly opening the door, noticing everyone he smiled happily. "Hey you guys," Adrien said waving gladly, everyone had been happier than usual lately...it was different but he was glad. He wondered what the mission was going to be like and hoped it would be as fun as the last one but less dangerous.

Zoe

Zoe noticed Chandler waving her over...she wasn't sure exactly whether or not she wanted to come though. She still didn't trust the trio of Hallie, Mikhail, and Zara, she was positive that they were doing something dangerous in the school and assumed that one of them pulled the fire alarm to do it without being noticed. But why? She assumed that they kind of forgot the whole closet situation, probably not, but they hadn't mentioned it. She decided that she might as well go with them, she didn't want the three of them to be suspicious of her...when she made it to the group she wasn't sure exactly what to do, so she just nodded slightly and tried to just blend into the crowd. Eventually she just ended up on the outskirts of it, leaning on the wall waiting for them to start moving. Everyone was being extremely friendly lately and the school was becoming less and less murderous and suspicious. Maybe she could open up a bit more...she decided that the only people she could possibly trust would be Chandler, Danny, Adrien, and maybe even Arian, though James wasn't in the trio he could be giving them information with his scrying abilities...and she didn't exactly like Adrien...and she didn't really talk to Danny or Arian...or even Chandler for that matter...thoughts kept rushing through Zoe's head one by one, she wished that they would stop, but they just wouldnt...

Daniel

"So, what you're saying is..." Danny considered this, then brightened up immediately. "We're going camping!" He grinned like a kid who'd been promised candy. "I love camping! Haven't gone in years, though. Well except that one school trip, but the fire kind of ruined that. Not my fault, I swear," he added hastily. With the stories he told the others were beginning to think he was at fault for a lot of things that went on at his old school. But how was he to know raccoons were attracted to Old Spice? "You think I'll need new pants?" He wondered aloud, looking down at his faded jeans. Comfortable, stylish, but practical and survivalist? Not so much. Less than a heartbeat later he was wearing camo-patterned cargo pants. As a bonus, they matched his green hoodie. "Okay, ready for anything!"

All thoughts of practical fashion were driven from his mind when he rounded a corner and saw his posse. "Guys!" He yelled happily. He was always happy to see them. For the first few days, as introductions were being made, he had been all but ecstatic. Everyone seemed pretty cool - a little silent, some of them, but cool. And he'd never had a posse. He liked that word. Posse. He'd had a group of people he hung out with back at his old school, but they were generally just delinquents who hung out together because no one else liked them, and they didn't really like each other either. This place was better. It had a posse. His posse!

Even James was really cool, which made it impossible to hate him. Cool people were too cool to hate. They ended up getting along great. Then again, lately it seemed there was no reason to hate him either - he and Arian barely talked, nevermind acting like a couple. What a relief. And the others? He got along with them, too - there really wasn't anyone he didn't like. Okay, some of them (Zoe, mainly) he didn't talk to all that much, but they had no problems with each other. Maybe he should talk to her more. And Chandler was crazy funny! He kept changing his clothes. Like, teleport out, change, teleport back completely different.

Rather than keep mentally rambling about how totally awesome his new life was, Danny returned to the present, which was awesome. Just about everyone was here, also awesome. He rubbed his palms together, thinking about his first real mission, which would be awesome. "So what's all this I hear about camping?" He asked of those present, grinning almost manically. And awesomely.

He shrugged to Mikhail's question, taking his crystal in hand just as the rest of the group joined. He laughed, giving a high-five to Danny and bumping fists with Adrien. It was cool how well they all got along now. Strange...but cool. It was then that he realized they had been together nearly a month, except for Danny and Chandler. But they had been here for most of that time.

His eyes flitted to Arian briefly.

Then he refocused on the crystal and concentrated carefully on his goal. He wondered if the school even realized what his power could do and that if he strengthened his mind enough, there would be nothing they could hide. Or could they? Was there a way they could hide stuff from even his power?

It seemed likely at that point when a mental blockage had him stumbling a bit until he knocked into Chandler. "Whoa..." he whispered, not liking the drop in his gut. "I can't...get anything..."

Ruffling his bronze hair, he eyed Mikhail. They had been on good terms recently and he knew he played the role of leader well. This was concerning and he saw the same concern reflected back to him from Mikhail, Hallie and Zara. Even Chandler had raised eyebrows.

"That's not normal," the many scraved young man commented. "Right? They shouldn't be able to...block you...unless..."

"What?" James asked, tucking the crystal protectively into his shirt, the warmth pulsing against his bare chest.

Chandler scratched his neck. "What if they're training you to only gather information on stuff they want you to gather. Not just anything."

Hallie's eyes widened, her hands curling into fists. "Don't say that," she told him darkly, wiping some white hair from her shadowed eyes. James felt a pulse and read that she was nervous about this school still. Very nervous. Her doubts fueled his own now.

"Maybe this mission isn't a good idea," he commented, glancing around. "All for opting out?" He raised his hand.

Chandler's frown twisted a bit until he gave a shrug and put on a forced smile. "Well...c'mon, I'm probably just being stupid. That's what I do," he laughed and nodded to Danny and Adrien. "You guys aren't nervous right?"
