Naoko's Story

"Not so fast... I had to warn you about the multiple alternative worlds and time difference the doors will lead you to..."

"You will never know what happened there... Anything is possible so I want you to hold into this." He place a small card size of a poker game card on the table. One side of the card was blank white and the other side was plain light blue.

"This card will help you get back here. Just place it at any door and it will morph the door to become a doorway connected here. Just don't lose it... it's your only ticket back here."

"Understood!" Anima nodded cheerfully and turned to Naoko, "Would you pass me the card, please?" She avoided using the nickname she had given this woman.

"Eh..." Naoko glanced at the card, the doctor has placed, and then back at the annoying white-haired witch. She sighed... and walked to the card and hesitated for a while before gently picking it up. Pretending to study the card, she suddenly, lunched it back at high speed towards Anima, intending to at least hurt her. It swooshed through the room like a dart....but of course, a card was no weapon.

Anima caught it between both hands, "Thank you!" She grinned brightly at the woman, "Now, I must be off!" And using the card on the nearest door, she vanished.

The doctor quietly stay in his chair, watching the door slowly closed back to it's place. He remain quite and laid back to his chair, his right hand lightly placed on the table. He seemed in deep thought about something. After a while, he seemed made up his mind and stand up from his position.

"Miss Naoko, I will be leaving for a day or two. Take care of the house when I am gone."

Naoko glared at the door as it closes. Who does that young lady think she is to be acting like that? And what was with calling her Robin? Her name isn't even Robin! Split Personality Victim or not, the way the girl acted was annoying just pure...GAAHH!!

She resisted the urge to punch something but her hand ached to be ..

"Miss Naoko" She heard the doctor call her.. "Yes?" she turned back and smiled.

"I will be leaving for a day or two. Take care of the house when I am gone."

Huh? Going? Where was he going? Well, he is the doctor, she doesn't really understand even a fraction of the things he does. "Very well, doctor. I shall do as you've ordered. May I ask, where you are going?"

"Netherworld." He respond simply and started to pack his tools.

"There's another client."

"....Ah! I see!" Naoko said, trying her best to sound smart for she had no idea of where this Netherworld was.

"Have a great day, doctor! I will see to it as this place is safe and clean."

"Alright, I will be off now..." He pull out a similar card he gave to the girl and put it on the door.

After a while, he carried his equipment and tried to proceed into the door.

"Um... doctor! What if I come with you?" ... she wanted to slap herself for saying that... now he was going to be angry again. Why, Naoko? Why?

She felt sweat at her brow as she waited for the doctor's response.

He paused at the door for a moment then he reply back to his assistant. "Very well... but under one condition... speak not and act not unless told otherwise..."

"I believe you could follow the rule, Miss Naoko? If so... pack what you need under 10 minutes, I will leave without you if you are late..." He look at his watch and continue on. "Starting by now, you have 9 minutes and 47 seconds left as we speak..."

NAOKO, YOU IDOIT! MORON! PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR-

"Very well"

What?...

Naoko's almost gasped. Her mouth gaped open and her eyes widened, she simply couldn't believe what the doctor's words.

"you have 9 minutes and 47 seconds left as we speak..."

And she stood there, as still as a statue for another two minutes before finally functioning again. "Of course, doctor! I shall not break the rule."

She then, stared at him with excitement for another minute before she finally realized that her time was running out fast and the doctor was probably getting very much irritated.

"Eh.. Pardon!" She dashed out of the room, and made a straight vector for her room, dodging and ramming any obstacle in her path. She did the latter on the door to her room. Splinters of wood flew away as she barged in, the lock all but cracked to pieces. Her feet came to a screeching stop.

Her room was simple, mainly because she liked it simple. A bed, a wardrobe, a bathroom and her entire collection of guns, cannons and what not. Including that magical-katana-golden-fish-pistol-thing that she never really understood of how it worked yet alone, where the trigger is, assuming it was a gun. These all vary in colour, size and power but all of them were arranged neatly in perfect symmetry and dusted clean. On the floors lined the bazookas. The walls crawling with all sorts of rifles and pistols. On the ceiling were lined with all sort of weird-coloured and irregular-shaped guns(or at least she thinks they are). And under the bed, a Gatling gun whose size exceeds her own easily by three times. To this day, she never really figured out how she managed to stuff that beauty under a small bed.

"All right. Stuff. Stuff. Stuff. Let's see." She was going to have a hard-time figuring out which guns to choose.


Quickly, she returned, with that giant gatling gun taped to her back. She held handbag stuffed with all sorts of side-arms from every conrer of the universe, and wore a huge grey trehch coat, conceling the rifles, explosives, pistols, SMGs and her tiny little teddy-bear, which was also stuffed with explosives.

"I AM READY, DOCTOR!" She said with a huge grin.

The doctor irately waits for his assistant to finish packing. After another 5 minutes passed, she finally showed up... with a bunch of weaponry equipped enough to take down a whole army.

"... ..." The doctor wordlessly walk towards his assistant and start striping off all the weapons off her. A moment later the floor was lined up with all sorts of weaponry with all kind of size and shape mostly consists of modern firearms. From that pile of weaponry, he picked a pair of pistols, some explosive, and a set of knifes and hand it back to his assistant.

"We travel light. I have no plans to start a war there..."

"Eh... " Just a few pistols, explosives and knives... Naoko frowned. Ah well, I guess these will have to do.

She looked up at the doctor and nodded. "Of course, doctor." She gently grabbed them and placed them within her trench coat. In her handbag, now devoid of guns, she inserted one small pistol.

"Now, let us depart... We have waste too much time here..." The doctor carrying his tools, he entered the door and vanished. Leaving Naoko behind him.

"Certainly, doctor!" The door shimmered brightly, colours dancing like rainbows stirred up inside the door, as the doctor ventured in. She readies herself and hops in to the world beyond as well.

"..." A black hair man with a white lab coat was standing beside a women who looks about the same age as the man. "The messenger from the client was suppose to meet us here... He's late..." The doctor adjust his spectacles while frowning. "Did the messenger got eaten by monsters again?"

Naoko looked around and sighed. She had half-hoped that there would be some sort of well... lively mood to this place but she had in fact, expected this kind of scenery from the moment she stepped into the door. Well, the name of this place is the Netherworld.. definitely lives up to its name. Oh well, the trench coat she was wearing was grey so hey, she's not that out-of-fashion in this ghostly void. She checked her guns, yep they are still there. However, she was hoping that there would be no unnecessary battle but judging by this place, she wouldn't be surprised if some feral demon pops up from the earth with molten lava imps dancing around it.

"Whoever lives here probably should be able to fight judging by the looks of things. So, if he was eaten, there would be some traces of a battle." She put her hands on her hips all the while scanning this new world.

Although she wanted to ask the doctor about some specifics of this world, her orders still stand. So instead, she squinted her eyes and tried to look both near and afar for clues. Maybe there's some evil statues of warlords and the like or some lava-filled evil fortress.

"DOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!" Suddenly a scream of agony came from the sky as a small blue figure was descending from the night sky. It was heading towards the two of them

"Hmm... I think that's our messenger." The doctor said in his usual half mono tone.

"The subject is prone to impact and will explode when enough force is applied, kindly bring it down in one piece so we don't need to wander around." As the doctor spoke the object went nearer, it can be seen the object looks like a large blue penguin. It was flapping it's flippers in a fail attempt to fly.

"Right away." Naoko quickly reached into her trench coat and took out a small sliver pistol. It's barrel was huge, housing not bullets but a net. She quickly took aim, the small blue flightless bird getting bigger and bigger.

"I never thought Penguins would attempt to fly." She pulled the trigger and the net swooshed up into the air. With multiple heavy weights attached to it, the net would wrap itself around the penguin and the force of impact should greatly send both the penguin and the net flying in the opposite direction for a few split seconds before falling back down again, with speed reduced, hopefully to a safe magnitude.
