Skills
Mathematics - Collin went into the field of accounting for a reason, and it was very nearly because he had an actual interest in the field. Actually, he wanted to be a math teacher, but it was made clear to him that he was not meant for teaching, and so he switched majors. The fact remains that numbers and finances have always come easy to the young man. He quite enjoys complicated math problems and the like, and even if he never really dreamed of becoming an accountant growing up, he doesn't find his job to be particularly soul-sucking due to his like for math.
Efficient Fighting - Normal people don't need to have their life spared by a powerful head of a crime organization. Thus, it stands to reason that Collin's father was not reason. Nor was his father a gang member. No, Wallace Rhodes was a hitman- an assassin. He didn't intend for his son to ever follow suit, of course, but he did teach Collin how to take people down before they even realize that you are in the room. Even in his suit, Collin can knock someone out with the ease that comes from a life time of training. He only uses force when necessary, of course.
Charming - Collin has this way of carrying himself, something in his smile or the tone with which he says hello, that puts people at ease. At least, people tend to look at him and want to be his friend. The mild-mannered accountant, who has a way with words and a strangely graceful step, simply comes off as rather likeable. It comes in handy when he is trying to talk his way through another one of the Milano's tangles with the government. Or when he sees a pretty girl across the way.

Secrets
Father's Occupation - Obviously the previous crime boss knew that Collin's father was an assassin, as does the current family patriarch more likely than not, but beyond that he tries to keep it under wraps. There's something comforting in just being a competent accountant, and nothing else to people. In conjunction with this, the only people who know how dangerous he can be are those who have seen it firsthand. Collin doesn't advertise his fighting prowess.
The Federal Proddings - The government has been making a lot of moves recently to try and get Collin to give them some sort of incriminating evidence on the Milanos. Obviously, he never plans to, but nor does he intend to let the Milanos know that this is happening. It's only unnecessary cause for concern, in his mind, and he doesn't want them to somehow doubt his loyalty simply because he is being approached by the authorities.

【Just A Little Deeper】

Personality
{Sociable, Eloquent, Calculating, Good-Humored, Tired}
Most people who have met Collin Rhodes find him rather easy to get along with. He inherited this from his father, who had always been a mild-mannered man whose smile and kindness would never betray the means through which he paid his mortgage. Despite the fact that he can easily take someone down before they even blink, he's unlikely to do so, not being the sort to jump to violence as the first option. The man would rather go for compromise, or for settling things down with a chat or a lunch of some sorts. It is perhaps thanks to this generally likable manner that he hasn't gotten too much grief about the fact that he is working for a man whom his father was hired to kill the father of. His friendliness is rather nondiscriminatory as well, and he's just as willing to have lunch with a government agent as a fellow Milano employee- that being said, he'd never betray the Milanos during said lunch, instead viewing it as separate from work. Collin often makes new acquaintances on account of this extroversion, and the fact that he is rather good with words doesn't hurt either. Collin has a sort of eloquence about him that makes him appear to be more educated than he is, and perhaps from a different background than he is from. His way with words has very much to do, on top of an attractive face, with the fact that he has been known to flirt a bit, and usually with success. He has a gift for talking around things and out of them, often without ever technically 'lying' to a person. Defending the Milano's finances against the government, this comes in handy. Even when deflecting their attempts to get him over to their side.

It certainly helps that he's rather good-humored, not the sort to be easily riled up by a slight against him or anything along those lines. Almost mild, but not quite, he easily laughs and jokes at his own expense, not very sensitive towards insults. Perhaps if they became constant and very belittling, he might speak out against it. However, for the most point, he is the sort who easily takes and makes jokes.

While he is genuinely friendly, that is not a lie, and he does have a strangely optimistic and willing-to-help sort of side to him, Collin would not have lasted two minutes working for the Milanos if he didn't have a dash of realism and intelligence to him. He has a surprisingly calculating edge to him, and even as he helps people, there seems to be a subconscious part of him that is checking off the benefits and risks of everything. He very rarely acts without thinking, or speaks without at least considering any consequences first. Thus, it can be difficult to get the young man off guard. Collin is quite good with cause and effects, with consequences and the like. Were he not working as an accountant, he probably would be a good economist or CFO or something along those lines. His ability to predict what will happen has been very helpful in balancing books for the past two years, and in keeping him from getting caught in a web by the feds, always breathing down his neck. Even if something he does looks like impulse, it was only geared to appear so.

He may be incredibly competent and have a sort of good energy, but these facts do not change the fact that Collin is still a rather young man who has dedicated himself to one thing since he was relatively young. That sort of thing can become taxing on a person, after all. It began when he found out that his father was an assassin, but that his mother did not know this- or perhaps willingly pushed herself into obliviousness because she didn't want to deal with this truth. It was something which sort of taxes on one when they are young, after all- knowing that their father kills people for money, and that their mother can never know. He's been keeping secrets and living for others for a surprisingly long time now, and not without the disadvantages. He often has trouble sleeping due to stress, especially around the end of the year. Thus, he's recently been rather tired, exhausted even, though he'll be damned if anyone else is allowed to find this out. Small hints might exist in bags under his eye or the like, but he's put in more effort than he lets on in these things. Even his sociableness could not afford him a somewhat more normal life- he even went sofar as to work extra classes to graduate early, and then pile up his college hours to get his CPA as fast as possible for this family. There is a risk of him burning himself out.

【Past, Present, Future】

History
Collin was born the first and only child of a rather nice family, one which was generally respected by the other members of his small suburban community in Wilton, Oregon. They had a nice house in a nice neighborhood, and never seemed to have any financial problems. His parents got along very well also, his father a kind, mild-mannered man, and his mother a woman with a large heart that had her involved in all sorts of things around the community. It was his mother's activity in the community that had them well known, for their father was a sociable man but not the sort whom people knew much about, quite content to keep to his family. Collin was born into this family, a happy little child who had been fairly easy to deal with, the sort who is constantly trying to help, though they perhaps tend to make the job a longer task. When he was old enough to attend school, Collin began at the small local elementary school, a short walk from his home. It was not a phenomenal school, but it was comfortable, and he had friends enough thanks to his cheerful nature. Around this time he enrolled in karate with a few friends, mostly because he wanted to be like the people in action movies he watched.

Of course, it wasn't until he was in fifth grade that he gained a real motivation for working to improve his strength: and that motivation was a sort of fear that children, typically perceiving themselves as some brand of invincible, should not be made to face. He came home one day, an early release day, to find a man pointing a gun to his father's head. He was there for long enough to over hear some of the conversation, about his father being an assassin, before he stepped out to be seen. Perhaps it was him revealing himself that saved his father's life, or perhaps it was a stroke of mercy in the Milano patriarch, but that day Collin's father's life was spared. Once the stranger had left, Mr. Rhodes took his son out for a late lunch and reluctantly explained to his son what was going on. He didn't want to try to lie to his son about this- though he made Collin swear never to tell his mother, who had known anxiety problems and would likely have a heart attack should she discover her husband's true occupation. It was under these situations that Collin became aware of the fact that his father was a hit man, and developed a deep gratitude towards the Milano family for sparing his father's life.

Collin convinced his father to teach him how to fight, claiming that it was for self defense- almost guilting his father into it by implying that he was concerned his father might have enemies who wouldn't be above kidnapping a child. He also began to throw himself into his studies, working as hard as possible. He was always taught to return debts by his parents, and seemed to believe that he had to devote his life to expressing his gratitude towards the Milanos. So, he did. Finding that math and finances came easily to him, he worked to graduate early, and promptly entered university to study finances, though he switched over to accounting after catching word that the Milanos were in need of a decent accountant to keep the police off of their trail. Charming as he was, he never really got out much during his college years, socializing only now and again, instead focusing on what he saw as making himself more useful. His father was horrified, but couldn't stop his stubborn son, who was determined to make himself useful enough to repay his father's life debt.

When he had graduated, Collin approached the Milano boss, and upon explaining is situation [and asking that no one else be told of it] was brought in. His undeniable skill and hard work were what brought him up, and he's been working to deflect the government while managing finances for the past two years now. Still, his life has been based around repaying this debt he has perceived as being his responsibility for years now, and it's going to suck him dry.
