"Why do people think adventuring is glamorous? This is the third time I've needed to sew a slash in my jacket. As in since this morning."
Alex isn't like most adventurers. Rather then an aura of danger and mystery, he's open and happy, often goofy. He sometimes complains that guys who do act like badasses are only adventuring to get girls. Alex himself often helps people free of charge. It often puts him just beneath poverty in terms of money, but Alex seems okay with it. He is also a cheat, often using the dirtiest tricks to win even when they aren't necessary. This has made him more than a few enemies in gambling villages.
Perhaps his best traits are his compassion and determination. He is easily pulled in by a sob story, and more than willing to help the innocent. But more importantly, he never gives up. Even when it would smarter to give up, he chooses to push forward. Frankly, it's a wonder he's survived as long as he has.
Strapped on his back is short sword with a two-handed grip with a sheath of soft leather. He always carries several small knives hidden under his clothes. The only extravagant items he wears are a necklace holding a crystal bulb, and a steel bracer on his right arm, engraved with various symbols.
The bracer is a magical ward against all illusions and mind magic, protecting him from any magic that might try to mess with his head. The bracer also has a small launcher, allowing him to throw varying ammunition's at different speeds, showing it to be of dwarven make. The wards themselves are of elven design, making the bracer the most valuable item he owns. He never tells anyone where he got it. And he never will.
Alex was born into a peasant family. When he was fifteen, he ran away from home to join the military of his land. There he was trained in all forms of combat, eventually becoming a skilled combatant at seventeen years old. Then he ran away. He left the land of his birth, and became a wanderer, brawling and adventuring across the world. Now he has chosen to put down roots in Thedan, and see what awaits him in the new city.
