Appearance: Edward is a rugged older gentleman with a long gray beard and shaggy gray hair. His navy blue waistcoat and navy blue pants are tattered and covered in different colored patches, sewn on throughout the years. His boots, which are waterlogged and stained, have been with him since he was 35. He is usually smoking from an old wooden pipe.

Personality

Personality:

Virtues: Respect for his superiors, even if they happen to be young and wet behind the ears. He is a dependable and fun loving old fellow, always looking for a good drink and company.
Vices: Though still able to do many things, his age sometimes hinders him.

Skills: Edward has worked almost every position on a ship at one point in his life, which is handy if a crew member falls ill or dies. Edward isn’t the greatest cook, navigator or captain but if the situation calls for him to fill in, he can manage. Though he is a novice with firearms and swords, he understands the mechanics of many weapons and is a skilled blacksmith.

Secrets: Edward was once the captain of a ship called The Morbid Gale. Eventually, officials captured the crew and most were executed. The ship was burned and Edward was forced to walk the plank, only to wash ashore days later. None are even sure if Edward Lovecraft is his birth name.

Equipment: An old cutlass and his lucky wooden pipe.

Past

Reason for Leaving: Edward knows he wont be around forever and just wants to have on last grand adventure on the high seas.

History: Edward Lovecraft is well known in most ports as a experienced sailor and blacksmith, though demand has faded as he’s aged. Not much is known of his past and not a soul can tell you what he did before he first washed ashore 15 years ago. Claiming no memory of how he ended up out at sea, he found work in town quickly. Aside from some simple voyages here and there, he mainly could be found in local pubs near a fire, smoking his pipe and telling manly tales to groups of excitable youngsters. When word reached him of a Captain Clark and The Dragon’s Knave, Edward realized it might be his last chance to sail the seas.
