City guard and soldier turned pirate after a strange twist of fate.
Destiny is seen as a meek and sometimes shy person. She only really knows how to do three things in life, grow plants, catch fish and fight. Sometimes she is seen as clumsy or forgetful, but has proven her worth in battle enough times defending the city from invading pirates, now she was using her skills to protect her very lifestyle as one.
Sometimes Destiny will be snappy and angry, her addiction to medicinal herbs and spices has also left her slightly paranoid although she has learnt to control it, sometimes even using it to keep herself sharp. Most of the time however, Destiny is friendly and will often go out of her way to help people if she can, especially her new found friends as they sail the seas looking for fame and fortune.
Destiny has an unusual looking spear crafted for her by her granddad, it has a long blade and grooves running down it to give her perfect grip. She's a master with it although anyone with a bow and some arrows or a flintlock would probably have the advantage. She also carries a pouch with all her herbs and medicines in, its rarely empty and sits on her belt that holds her guard issue baggy trousers up. Her uniform was covered in blood as she floated across the ocean and is now a faded red. Tearing the sleeves off her top to create a vest top she had even begun to look the part.
Destiny lost her parents at a young age leaving her in the care of her grandparents. Her grandfather taught her how to hunt and would sometimes put her to work on the farm, as she grew older she began hunting on her own and bringing back some impressive feast worthy game. Her grandfather decided Destiny was old enough now to handle the experiences of the outside world and crafted her a spear of almost magical quality. He blessed it and told her that when the time was right it would reveal some great truths to her. He also gave her a necklace that belonged to her mother.
After a teary goodbye Destiny set off for the city to find work as a soldier, upon her arrival into the city several men were being chased by the town guard and she quickly took this opportunity to prove her skill. Eventually with the help of the guards she rounded them all up, it turns out they were pirates using the peace of Sunday morning worship to steal and plunder. As the guards were walking the prisoners back one offered Destiny a cigarette in celebration, she's never been quite right since.
After a quick stint in the army advancing quickly through the ranks she soon became bored. Eventually she left her job to seek a new one working for the city guard, after being told the hours were rubbish, the pay was worse, the risk of death much higher than most other jobs and very little chance of promotion Destiny couldn't sign her contract quick enough. A rather stunned guard master soon took her to her post overlooking the docks on a long walkway high above the ocean. The view was amazing and every day was a different and dangerous adventure. Sometimes she was even called in to assist the guards closer to the city, she had really took to the new job well.
On a visit back to her Grandparents house Destiny could never have prepared for what she saw. Hoping to come home sharing her stories of success she soon found her grandparents had been mauled in their sleep by bears and the house had been almost destroyed. After giving them a proper burial Destiny spent the next few weeks roaming the forest slaying every bear she came across.
Eventually she made her way back to her job in the city, a much quieter and seemingly weaker person. On the night of her return to work she was brutally attacked by an unknown assailant and pushed several hundred feet into the ocean, crashing through the wooden dock as she fell.
Destiny woke up on a ship several days later after being pulled from the ocean by a band of pirates. It it wasn't for them, she would be dead.
