Rayne strode down the hallway purposefully. Her long black hair billowed behind her as her dark eyes scanned the still corridors uninterestedly. It was early yet, only just 8:00 am, and many of the students had yet to awake. The sky was overcast and grey outside the windows, promising cooler temperatures and the possibility of precipitation later in the day. Smiling faintly, she slowed to a stop, gazing out one of the windows to consider the clouds for a moment. They were pale grey, a dim, dreary color. Conversely, the gloomy sky cheered her up.

Resuming her journey down the corridor towards the stair case, she thought of the day ahead of her. Her first destination would be the Dining Hall, on the floor below. After a good breakfast, she intended to trek back up two flights of stairs to the third floor, where the library awaited. She needed to do some studying in the early part of the day so that she would be free to enjoy the rain that afternoon. Hurrying down the steps, the mouth-watering smell of fresh bacon and eggs drifted to meet her, and her stomach complained quietly.

"Alright, I'm going," she thought to herself, trying to appease her voracious hunger.

Retrieving herself a plate, Rayne piled it high with bacon, eggs, and a piece of toast slathered with butter and jam. Settling into her usual seat at the enormous oak dining table, she tucked her napkin onto her lap politely before shoveling the scrumptious meal down her throat as quickly as she could swallow. Hunger and impatience cleaned her plate quickly. She had a good deal of studying to accomplish before the rain showers began.

It wouldn't start raining until about 1:00 pm. She had acquired a neat power from the last person she'd come in contact with. They'd had a limited foresight; changes in the weather came as no surprise to that individual, nor to Rayne, thanks to her own ability to copy the gift of another person merely by coming into physical contact with them. Of course, it wasn't exact, and she still had to learn to use the new powers effectively. Also, if she accidentally bumped another person in the hall, she'd acquire their power, consequently losing the one she'd had before the run in. Even so, she appreciated her ability.

Scraping the last few bites of eggs from the plate, Rayne carried her dishes over to the collection tub and set them carefully inside. Turning on her heel, she set a swift pace back down the hall and up the stairs, her mind already racing ahead to the library and the grueling hours of study that awaited her.

#, as written by Cynoc
Cynoc sat quietly nibbling on a piece of bacon. He was in a slightly less depressed mood then normal, as he usually was in the mornings. People usually never had negative emotions in the mornings, at least the majority of them as he had observed. That went double for Saturdays, because there were no classes or anything to deal with for the day, so people were carefree and happy if anything. It was one of the few times he was almost happy to let his power go. He still chose to come down to breakfast early, and he usually always sat at the end of the table closest to the food line he frequented. His slow and rather tedious method of eating tended to annoy people, and when annoyance was directed at him it was even more unpleasant. Sometimes he didn't like that as much as he didn't like people feeling angry.

He glanced hesitantly around the room. He recognized the few people that were down here with him. They, like him, usually frequented breakfast early, before everyone came around. Even though this was a school for people with powers, some still had trouble being friendly with everyone and making friends. Cynoc wasn't an exception to that, more like a punctuation. His eyes settled on Rayne, a pretty girl who he thought was his age, and that he saw quite often. He had a few classes with her, and saw her around on a regular basis. Her power was... taking other people's powers. She often felt lonely, but Cynoc was kind of scared to approach her and offer friendship. If she touched him, she might feel what emotions came from him, and he wasn't to keen on that. Part of sticking to himself and quietly observing everybody was learning all kinds of information about everyone in the school. He had eventually decided to chronicle his knowledge, and had a pretty decent collection going on a notebook in his room, and a shorthand version he carried with him.

He finished his nibbling and turned in his dishes. He made sure to return to his spot and make sure he left it clean before trudging out of the room towards the library. That was his favorite place to frequent in his free time, as the few people that actually went in there usually only had concentration on their minds, and sometimes impatience, but it was another place he didn't have to hide his power in. Plus, he kind of enjoyed the quiet.

Rayne set the pile of books down gently on one of the many large tables scattered throughout the room. As she slid into her chair, she sighed, pulling one of the books towards her at random and cracking it open. It was the science book. With a mental cringe, she lowered her gaze to typewritten page. Science was her worst subject.

As the minutes crept past, she found it increasingly difficult to keep her mind focused on the textbook. Other thoughts insisted on creeping into her head just as she was reading something truly important, and she would have to stop and start over at the beginning of the paragraph. Her frustration mounted quickly.

Pushing the book away from her in disgust, she pulled the math book from the pile instead. Math was her second worst subject. With a heavy sigh, Rayne flipped open to the page she'd been assigned for homework. "This is going to be a long day."

Jasin had woke up early this morning. He was one of the few guys that stayed in the third floor. He was in room 320, and was happy that he didn't have a room mate. He walked down to the kitchen to get himself some breakfast. He couldnt believe how fast time had passed since he first arrived here. But that didn't matter now. While int he kitchen he sat down and used his powers to fix some quick breakfast. He had to go to the library and help out. That was what he did on his spare time.

Finishing off he got up and washed his plate. As he walked in the library he noticed Rayne the copycat, that was the name people called her due to her powers. Though Jason called her by her names, always. He also noticed Cynoc, if he wasn't mistaken he could feel other peoples emotions. He looked down so he tought if he passed by maybe he would feel happy.

"Morning Rayne" he said as he walked passed her,she a year younger than her.

"Morning Cynoc, cheer up pal" he said as he patted his shoulder and smiled.

Jason headed for the counter where people usually dropped off the books. He picked all of them up using his powers and started shelfing them.

Aiden had been in the library since 3:30 AM. Why didn't he just grab the books he needed and head back to room 211 to study? It was probably because he enjoyed the academic aura of the library... the smell of musty tomes and the sound of ruffling pages across the room made him feel comfortable. He was studying in his favorite spot; a little nook right next to a big window overlooking the castle gardens. The table had a small lamp that gave off dim, ambient light; the kind of light that makes you feel cozy. This was his favorite spot because of not only the old fashioned lamp but also because the sun always rises on the castle gardens, so for the early morning study sessions like these, he would get to watch the sun come up and gradually bathe the world in its illumination. As it began to near around 8:30, 9ish, more and more students began shuffling into the library to get in their early studies. There were no classes today, but there was homework.

Aiden continued to follow his finger as he read to himself. "Another one of Shakespeare's earliest and most memorable plays, a Midsummer Night's Dream has had many interpretations performed over the centuries. God .. I hate shakespeare..." He looked up from his book to notice Copycat had entered into the library. She came from breakfast.. he knew because she always ate first thing. She was a year younger than him, but they had had classes together since they had both started school at the academy. Shortly after, Jacob came in too. He said hi to Rayne and then to some other kid, who looked familiar but he couldn't remember his name.. "Power .. power .. what's that kid's power? ...Wow, I've gotten pretty bad, I try to remember people by their powers now." He thought to himself as he turned his gaze once more toward the big book he had been studying. "Ugh .. my eyes hurt.. I don't want to read about shakespeare anymore.." his eyes met with the gardens outside the window. "It looks like rain .. I hate the rain .. Maybe I'll go take a quick stroll through the gardens to refocus my eyes before it hits."

He packed up his books and took the big book on shakespeare under his arm, it was really heavy and he tended to be very weak. He struggled to get it in a comfortable position and then began making his way over toward the book return counter. He noticed that Rayne was on his way. "I should be nice and say hi .. But maybe I shouldn't. But if I don't, she may think I'm rude. She would probably say hi if she were me and I were her.. and she'll undoubtedly see me walking past.. I should just say hi.. maybe" as he approached her table more and more he opened his mouth to say "Good morning Ra-" but was interrupted when he tumbled head first into some big jock dude and knocked over all the kid's books and his own. "O-oh, I'm so sorry ..." he said, looking down at the mess he made and trying not to make eye contact with the guy, who towered over him. Sure enough, his own gaze met with the oaf's and Aiden gulped nervously.

"Well what are you waiting for, geek? Pick up my crap!!" the kid billowed in a deep, demanding voice.

Aiden was struck with a sudden zapping sensation and became compelled to obey the kid. "Yes, sir!" he exclaimed robotically and knelt down, picking up the kid's books and fixing them so that they were properly aligned by the corners, and organized by shape, size, and weight. "Here you are, my sincerest apologies.."

"Get out of my way, loser." The kid billowed again, laughing to himself as he walked off. Aiden looked down at his own books. He knelt down and then began picking them up, making a quick glance up at Rayne but not saying anything; he just blushed deeply.

Fay sits up and stretches in her bed, her snow white wings unfurling far past her hands into an impressive 12 foot wingspan. She yawns lightly and gets out of bed. She quickly changes into her white dress with ribbons and slips on some basic white flats. She pulls her wings back in against her bag as she brushes her long blonde hair straight. Fay grabs her sketchbook and some charcoal pencils then leaves her room, locking it up behind her with the silver key around her neck. The number on the door reads 307.

She walks down to the dining hall and gets a small plate of food with one piece of bacon, two of toast, and a very little bit of eggs. Fay walks towards one of the tables, not paying attention to who may be sitting there and sits down. She opens up her sketchbook to a fresh page and picks up a piece of toast. She nibbles on the edge of the toast as she sketches a guy's face onto the page. It's no one in particular, just a face she saw in her dreams the night before.

Jason noticed the small argument that went around in the library. Before the guy could walk away he walked up to him and bumped into him knocking his books down on purpose.

"Watch in punk, first that geek over there and now you" he said looking at Jason trying to puff up his chest. Jason was just looking at him like if he was stupid."Well what are you waiting for, pick them up just like that guy did" he yelled.

"First of all, what grade are you in. 10, 11?" asked Jason

"NO!, Im in 9th" said the kid. Jason was surprised. For a kid his age he looked quite older.

"What grade are you in 10?"said the getting getting ready to punch im.

"Actually im in 12 and If you don't shut up and pick your books up I'll kick you out myself, now move out the way" he said as he used his powers to move him aside.

Jason walked up the kid who was picking up the books. The books looked like they were too much for him so he picked them up for him. "Aiden, was it?" he said picking them up with telekinesis.

Alan walked out of his dorm room, He was one of the third floorers and as he turned around to lock his door the numbers on his door shone in the light 115. After everything was locked he turned and began walking to the Cafeteria, After a couple of steps one of the other guys on the third floor stuck their head out and laughed "God man, Why walk when you could just shadow-port down".
Good thing Alan had seen the door open or he might of gotten a shock but as it is he felt like locking this guy in his own room, He looked down at the man who was rather chubby "What do you think I keep my body looking like this by using my powers for everything?" he said angrily and before the other man could answer she strode off down the stairs.

Breakfast was rushed but he still was able to eat about double what most people ate, His size and in general his whole body ment that he ate a lot and worked a lot off, Today the feast was bacon and eggs followed by scrambled eggs on toast and then just some more bacon for the heck of it.

After he had stuffed himself he got up, Cleaned up and started walking to the library he had a lot of work which he had left to pile up. But as he neared the library he heard a bit of commotion going on, He opened the door just in time to watch the smaller kid do what he was told "Hmm" he thought to himself "Ill have to do something about this".
As the boy went to walk out the door Alan didn't move, The guy then had his books nocked down again by another and after a few words Alan tapped him on the shoulder making him look up and growled slightly "What do you want Pericoloso".
This made Alan smile for as tall and big as the other guy was Alan was at least taller and nearly everyone knew his power, He licked his lips and then loud enough for at the least the boy who had been bullied to hear "Well, I want you to go back and say sorry, Did you hear that Blake I want you to go and say sorry... Now".

Kasey walked around confused, not knowing anyone made this even more harder. She looked around trying to figure out what room she wanted. Picking someone to share a room with would be hard because she was a bit nervous about what they would think of her powers. Having the ability to change forms into animals wasn't the best power she could have asked for. She remembered when some girl had found out her power after she accidently turned into a dog. Her words still remain in Kasey's memory. She had mocked her and told her to shoo like a good puppy and go back to where she belongs. Kasey pushed the memory from her mind and headed down to where she could find out about the dorms.

After she got the dorm thing settled, she went to go find it. She looked around and let out a sigh. So, this is where she would spend most of her time. "Guess this is better than being at home with all the normal kids," she thought to herself. She started to wonder how she would find a roomie. The thought of having to go out and socialize with others made her nervous. Being shy made it hard for her to talk to people she doesn't know. She let out another sigh. "It's worth a try." She slowly walked to the door and opened it. Most of the other kids seem to have already started talking to each other. Maybe it wouldn't be too hard to start talking to someone.

A loud disturbance interrupted Rayne's thought processes. The sudden commotion startled her, and she accidentally snapped the lead on her pencil. Looking up, she searched out the source of the altercation. Four guys were arguing over dropped books. Seriously? Feeling slightly annoyed, she stood up abruptly. "Look," she began, anger and annoyance evident in her tone, "this is a library. Some of us need peace and quiet to study." She glared at the four of them.

Inside, Rayne knew she was being unfair, but studying her two worst subjects on such a deliciously overcast day had put her in a bad mood, and she was lashing out. She would far prefer to be outside, enjoying the cool day and approaching rain, than cooped up in the library with a bunch of idiots. She looked over the four guys. Aiden was a good kid, a little shy, and they hadn't talked much, but she thought he seemed kind. Jason was always helping out in the library, and he really was a great help, using his Talent to benefit others the way he did. The other two boys were strangers to her, however.

With a sigh, she swept up her pile of books and turned to head down the rows, depositing each book deftly in it's place. Rayne desperately needed a break from studying, or she was going to injure someone. Possibly herself.

Aiden was very grateful for the boys who were sticking up for him. Jacob came over after overhearing him and another kid having a spat with the big bully and helped him pick up his books. "Aiden, is it?" the boy asked.

"Y-yes .. And you're Jacob. I know you .. we've had a few classes together.. You probably didn't notice me though.." he stammered as he bowed slightly, taking the pile of books from Jacob's hands. "Thanks a lot for sticking up for me .. that doesnt happen, much....." he was trying at all costs to avoid eye contact with Jacob, who made him very nervous. He noticed that Rayne had stormed off. "Oh no, I must have embarassed her...." he thought to himself, overcome with worry that she would probably never talk to him again. "I-I hope she isn't mad.." he managed to get out, talking to Jacob, but then realizing that most of the conversation was in his head and Jacob was probably confused what he meant. "Oh sorry," he caught himself. "I meant Rayne .. she didn't look to happy when she left just now. I hope she isn't mad at me.." he tried to hide the expression of worry that was plastered all over his face.

He approached the other boy, who had been demanding that the large kid apologize. "Thank you, as well. I don't believe we've met.. I'm Aiden.." he stuck out his hand for a shake, but then retracted it, unsure if that was too direct for a stranger. He almost went to outstretch it again, trying to determine what the boy he was talking to would have preferred, but instead he just awkwardly placed it under his books.

Hunter walked towards the building at a fast pace wanting to get away from the bad weather, the cold air was cutting through his thin hoodie and he could smell rain in the air, one of the cooler things he'd observed about his new powers was that from time to time his animal senses and instincts came back to humanity with him. he got to the front of the building and hesitated wondering if he was supposed to knock or just let himself in, he decided on the ladder and let himself inside. he let out an audible sigh of relief feeling the warm hair hit him and took a few minutes to take in the room he was standing in breathing deeply taking the different scents in, enjoying the animal like nose while it lasted.

He glanced from one end of the room to the other speaking to himself out loud "wonder where i go now?" He shrugged hefting his bag farther up his shoulder.

Kasey found her new roomate, Rayne. She didn't want to bug her knowing she was in conversation with some other kids and she was nice enough to be roomies with her in the first place. So she walked by her and smiled and said hello. She would probably get to know her better once they are both at the dorm. Feeling a bit better now, Kasey walked around looking for something to do. The only thing that she could think of was just sitting in the hall and reading her favorite book, The Summoning.

Rayne smiled at Kasey and returned her greeting warmly. She didn't know her room mate very well yet, but she was looking forward to becoming friends. As she finished putting away her last book, she turned to her. "Hey, Kasey, I was just about to go for a quick walk. Do you wanna go with me? I might stop by the dorm first and grab a coat though. It looks pretty chilly outside. And I should probably change my shoes too." Rayne glanced down at her feet, which were clad only in a pair of cute strap on sandals. Although cute, they were not suitable for roaming the Castle grounds.

#, as written by Cynoc
Just his luck. Cynoc wasn't even sure if he could like Saturdays or morning ever again after this. Saturday mornings would definitely be out of the question. His face was now literally buried in the big leatherbound book he had been reading. His hands were clasped atop his head as he struggled to block out his power, but the damage had already been done. That was the one drawback to not keeping it under lock and key. The second the emotions got to him, he couldn't keep his own under enough control to block his power out.

His jaw tensed up and he couldn't help but take sudden sharp intakes of breath as his face pushed up against the page in the book, ripping part of it. There was to much anger, to much aggresiveness, and even submissiveness, and it was being directed around a couple different ways. His whole body seized up, though visually it probably wasn't that noticeable.

"Look, this is a library. Some of us need peace and quiet to study." Rayne suddenly snapped at the source of Cynoc's pain. It was one final huge burst that sent a shudder through his body. The other emotions froze up though, and started to lose some intensity. While he still had this chance, he slammed the block into place, effectively feeling nothing coming from the others. Just left with the pain and fear trembling through his body, and the tears silently flowing from his eyes.

Cynoc tried to lift his face from the book, but he had pressed so hard against it's pages and the tears and also helped to stick it to his face, so the page ripped a little more. Cynoc realized he had even began to drool a little. Quietly, and very self-consciously, he settled his head on the book and closed his eyes, trying to close off the tears as well. Maybe he would get lucky and they would just think he was sleeping or something.

He did know two things though. This was the last time, at least for a long time, that he would let his guard down. That, and he wasn't going to sit near the door to the library where people apparently got into fights anymore.

A morning breeze blew in from the cracked window, blowing across the young mans face it caused him to stir a little rising up in time to see a glint of sunlight burst through the crack. In a leap of exhaustion he fell to the floor belly down, slowly he crawled across the floor and reached up to the shades which he pulled as hard as he possible could dropping them over the window. Chase winced slightly looking down at the nick on his elbow from the drop to the floor he must have scratched his arm off the corner of his bed post, annoyed by his childish reaction he stood up and stretched wiping the blood droplets away as if they never existed. Slowly his arms came up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes turning he now faced the mirror that was attached to his mahogany dresser, looking into the mirror he traced the scars around his right eye and yawned covering his mouth with his left hand the one that had traced the scar. Today would be another terrible day in the life of Chase Lockhart his eyes darted around the room eying the door to the bathroom he wanted to take a shower but had the night before and the bed head look would be perfect for facing the anguish the day gave him. With his right hand he tugged on the handle to the dresser and pulled out his gray tee and a pair of cargo jeans. It took him only five minutes to get dressed as well as find his shoes.

Just ten minutes after the sunlight encounter he stood before his mirror staring deeply into waiting for the person who looked back at him to smile it wouldn't happen even if summon held a gun to his head, the room was dark so dark that looking about he could only make out the shape of his bed and the facial features of the mirror boy. "Another day another dollar', he muttered raising his left hand a shadow wisp reached up the door to the bathroom and shut it while another pulled his back pack off his computer chair and wrapped it onto his back. "Thank you friends", he whispered and then he pulled a scarf on and wrapped it around his neck covering his mouth. With absolutely no eagerness at all he pulled open the door and walked out into the hall after he was free of his room he turned around and locked the door with a key he had produced with his hand after the door was secure he slipped the key back down into his left pocket. Shadows seeped from under his door and wrapped around him allowing him to phase through the floor he landed down on the next floor and continued on his daily rounds. Quietly he headed off to the cafe ready for a socially inept breakfast.

((I'm replying to Kasey. Her post somehow ended up in Earth instead of here, but I'm replying here.))

Smiling Rayne nodded. "That's fine with me. Let's go."

Feeling slightly more cheerful now that the prospect of a mid-morning saunter had arisen, she practically skipped through the corridors, smiling generously at those she met along the way. When they reached the stair case, she sighed and practically ran down the steps, taking them two at time. She was impatient to get outside quickly. There was impending rain, and she didn't want to miss a moment of it. Perhaps it was because it was her namesake. Giggling a little at the thought, she flung the door to their dorm open violently, darting over to her dresser to pull out a plain black zip up hoodie and a pair of tennis shoes. She made quick work of changing her shoes, bending over to do up the laces neatly.

"Ready?" She asked brightly, straigthening up.

Kasey followed Rayne quickly as she seemed to be in such a happy joyful mood skipping down the halls. As Rayne got her sweater and shoes on, Kasey grabbed her sweater and replied,"Yup." She couldn't help smiling most the time. Rayne's mood kept her happy and glad that she had met her. Kasey had noticed a girl walking down the hall as she and Rayne were on their way to their dorm. She had seemed a bit lost. "Hey Ranye, I saw a girl in the hall. She looked a little lost. Maybe we can invite her on our walk?" Kasey was up for chatting now that she knows someone here.

#, as written by Guire
Guire woke up, looking at the clock. "I overslept, oh well that just means most of the breakfast will be gone" he said outloud to himself.

He got out of bed and walked into the bathroom, after a quick shower Guire got dressed and decided to leave his room. Guire shut the door to his room behind him, looking at the room number. " Room 318, got it" he whispered to himself as he walked away from his room.

Guire made it to breakfast with 5 minutes to eat his food. "Damn, only 5 minutes?" Guire said to himself as a scooped some cold eggs onto his plate. He wondered over to a table that sat off to the side, setting his plate down and taking his seat he started eating his egg's. Guire finished his plate of egg's and put his dishes away, heading out the door he decided to take a walk around the school ground's.

Guire rounded a corner and looked at the giant fountain in the main courtyard. Upon approaching the fountain Guire saw a flicker out of the corner of his right eye, he turned but there was nothing there. Guire turned back to the fountain, looking at the blue water that sparkeld like crystal.

"What's going on" Guire said outloud. Electricity started sparking out of him, he fell to one knee. "W-what's happening? Oh no, not again" Guire struggeled to say as electricity sparked from his body and he let out a horrifying scream that echoed through the courtyard.

"What's going on?" a man shouted with authority as he opened his door to a hall, searching for who ever was screaming. The man scanned the hall but nothing was there, he scanned the courtyard and saw a boy on one knee with sparks shooting out of him. "My god" the man said as he closed his eyes. After a moment with his eyes closed the man rushed over to the boy who was on one knee and sparking electricity, the boy seemed in pain and trying to stand but couldn't.

#, as written by Cynoc
After very carefully and what he thought was inconspicuously working at it, Cynoc was able to free his face from the page without ripping it any further. His face was still just barely hovering over the page, still a little afraid to raise it up enough for everyone to see. He wiped his eyes and mouth, hoping it wouldn't be obvious what had just happened to him.

"Yo, dude, you okay?" a voice said right next to him.

So much for being inconspicuous. He hadn't expected anyone to say anything, and he hadn't even been able to tell if it was a guy or a girl, much less who it was. Judging from the speech it was probably a guy. Cynoc reached out with his sense and touched the person. It was definitely a male, and he was currently feeling curious.

"I'm okay, just tired." Cynoc said quietly, keeping his head bowed as he quickly stood and picked up the book. He closed it and tucked it into his waist and turned and quickly walked down a row of books. Once down at the end, he stepped behind the rack itself and sank into it, sliding down to sit on the floor with his back against it. He had reigned his sense back in, but now he let it extend openly in a short radius around him. This way, if anyone got close he would know about it.

He took a few deep breaths and composed himself. That had been very unexpected, and extremely unpleasant. Chances were he would probably spend the rest of his day shut up in his room, lying in his bed with the blankets over him. Well at least it was something he was used to. For now, he'd take another few seconds to recuperate before going up to pay for the book he had just messed up.

Suddenly someone entered within his range. So soon? Why was everyone up and about so early on a Saturday, and why were they all coming around him? His eyes perked up though. He was expecting maybe the guy from a second ago or maybe even Jason. What he felt though was from a female, a female who had a stubborn set to confusion. He was able to piece it together and recognize what it was, she was lost. The term could apply to a broad range of things, but she didn't know something and was blindly dealing with it on her own.

Cynoc leaned over and peeked down the row, spotting her immediately. He definitely didn't know who she was, another new student perhaps? She was searching blankly along some shelves not that far from him, near the edge of the rack closest to the wall. From this distance he could see that she had large blue eyes similar to his own, though they lacked the sadness of course. Her dark hair helped to contrast it though, and there was an all to familiar set to them now that he stared.

That was due to another factor as well though. Her emotions were... different. Of course everyone felt different emotions, but there were lots of emotions, not just a few like sad and happy. He had sensed a large amount of different emotions over the years. Still, he recognized hers. The simple ones and the complex ones were there, the lost feeling was most prominent. But there was a... substance to them. Not just a feeling to them but a, well, he couldn't describe what it was. He had never felt anything like it with his power before.

Gaping open-mouthed at her as he tried to sort it out, he forgot he was leaning and fell out from behind the rack, landing in the open area between two sets or racks. He looked up at her quickly, startled, then darted back behind cover as quickly as his reflexes would allow him, his heart beating wildly. Who was she?
