Years ago, the kishin Asura was awoken by the back blood. With him came madness, that threatened to consume the world until there was nothing else. Lord Death faced off against his former comrade, and failed. In the end, the world was saved, Asura defeated, by the young girl Maka, a simple, ordinary human with bravery in her heart. The battle was fierce, but in the end she won the day.

Soon Death City was restored, and shortly after that the Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA) was back up and running. Because of recent events, certain aspects of the academy and it's policies were changed, but the purpose of the academy is still there. To protect the world from evil. With that said, meisters and weapons are still needed, as there are still those evil humans out there, consuming the souls of others and becoming Kishin Eggs.

But, something else is out there now as well. Because of all the madness that washed over the world in the time Asura was still around, some new souls have been affected, turning black. These souls are known as Dark Souls, and anyone might posses one of them, normal humans, witches, weapons, meisters... There is no way to tell if a person has a Dark Soul until it's too late, and the madness has begun to affect them. Sometimes, depending on the individual, this is even missed. Once it is learned a person has a Dark Soul they are locked up in the lower levels of the DWMA building, by orders of Lord Death. Why? Because he has no idea what this means. Are they simply mad, like a rabid animal? Or do they run the risk of becoming a kishin, as Asura did? No one knows for sure yet, and so Lord Death is being very cautious, and keeping a close eye as the new batch of students arrive...

So, basically, it's been about 20 or so years since Asura was destroyed and the series ended. All the old meisters have moved on and become adults, I'll give more details in the OOC later on. The academy has new rules and a few new teachers as well, but over all it's the same as ever. Below is a list of the staff for DWMA now.

Where do you come in? Well, a new year at the DWMA is about to begin, and the new students, weapons and meisters, are arriving today. You can either be one of the newst students, or a second year student who's been there for a little while. As far as choosing partners, somewhere in the first few posts we'll all meet up in the rp at the academy and decide. We'll talk more about it in the OOC.
If you want, you can be, or also play, a villian, like a witch or a meisterless weapon, or something along those lines.

Remember-
Meisters are people who wield the weapons. Most of them have some sort of ability, such as being able to sense spirits, tell if they are human, witch, etc. Some of them can even use their soul wavelengths as a weapon in its own right

Weapons are people who can, at will, transform their bodies into some kind of weapon. In weapon mode, they can resonate their souls with their meister and produce a powerful technique, a super skill.
Halfbreeds, the children of meister and scythe, usually act as meister, but can sometimes tap into the weapon blood inside of them and partially turn into a weapon
