- Being Alone - Johnny has little compatibility with others, as well as a natural hatred for all who he meets. Giving him an impaired social ability, thus he is most comfortable when not having to deal with others.
- Fighting - From brawls to downright killing his opponent, Johnny has always felt most passionate and "happy" when in confrontation.
- Darkness - Due to his ability, he has a strong affinity for darkness. Being most comfortable when he unable to be seen.
Weaknesses:
- Light - Johnny's Darkness Manipulation abilities are noticeably weaker when he is surrounded by bright light. This has made him instinctively avoid light.
- Impaired Social Ability - Johnny does not bode well in conversation or interacting with others. Though he is able to recognize the needs and feelings of others. He is highly uncaring and thus will not make conversation in the same way as others. People have noted that it is difficult to talk with him.

- Being Weak - Johnny highly values strength and power, he would sooner accept death then lose his ability or become useless.
- Paranoia - Johnny instinctively looks for signs of treachery in everyone around him, sometimes inventing delusions of betrayal if he sees no obvious signs of deception in others.
Personality:
Johnny is a man consumed and ruled by his own hatred, every bit of his being is influenced by it; after all it's all he's ever known. This is due to his addiction to the power hatred gives him, and it is because of this power he has been able to survive. Johnny's psyche itself has grown very fragile due to the nature of his power, giving him a powerful bloodlust and the will to do whatever is necessary to win or survive. Johnny values his own strength and power above all else, believing that equality is a lie and showing an obvious disgust for those who dare to label him like others. Johnny's second greatest trait is his pride, of all things he wishes to remain an Individual. This love for his self and his nearly endless hatred has been his main emotional support, preferring to rely on himself then others. Though Johnny is a very dark person, his most surprising trait is his deep love and affection for cats; animals have always been a soft spot for him as he prefers them to sentient beings. It may be the only detail of him that has some light in it, but he tends to not look at it like that.
Their History:
Johnny does not remember much of his past, his earliest memories are of him living on the streets, often without food or shelter. Often his only source of companionship was alley cats and other assortments of stray animal. His first friend was a kitten he had found, abandoned in a sack in in a dumpster that he was searching through for food. Johnny developed a very powerful bond with this cat, naming her Tiny for her small size and physical weakness. This was the first time he felt love for any being; but all that would change when one day he was attacked by a group of teenagers. He was only eight at the time, and his abilities had never shown themselves. He was helpless to watch as the boys killed his cat, overcome with so much hatred and grief his Hatred Empowerment activated. He tore the boys apart like sack-dolls, not stopping in till all that was left was their torn guts and smashed bones. He was immediately arrested, and delivered to the Institute for Super-abominations. For 10 years he was locked away, over time he discovered his second ability, his ability to manipulate darkness. Which almost served in his escape in till he was foiled and given a new cell. A small room with built in inch by inch lights that eradicate all darkness and shadow within. Fitted with a machine that pumps constant sedatives in him, he has been unable to fully utilize his Hatred Empowerment. One day their machine will stop and the lights will flicker out, and when that day comes. Every scientist there will learn the true capability of his hatred.
