Rob Slor's Story

Everything turned quick, the second Rob mentioned date Hayden became shy and quiet. Rob smiled at her, she was a different kind of girl. She was just about to say something but held back. No matter, she was cute so he let her. "I...forgot what I was going to say..." Rob smiled, he had to leave, but he knew he was going to see her tomorrow. There was no reason to go further then that. He leaned over and kissed her. Her lips were warm, and her heart racing. He didn't worry though, nor did he want a one night stand with this girl. There was something about her. He didn't want to leave, but he had things to do tomorrow and it was getting late.Rob leaned back "Already forgot." he joked "Hey I gotta go, but ill see you tomorrow. Be ready around seven or eight." Rob stood and walked to the door ."See you tomorrow Hayden" with another smile he was out the door.

On his way down he called a cab, the night wind was refreshing. Rob stood for a little waiting for the taxi, he thought of everything that had occurred today, from the Russian to Hayden. He sighed as he felt his nose, still hurt. The taxi arrived shortly after and it took 20 minutes to get him home. Rob rushed upstairs to his apartment and sunk into bed. Long day.. he turned a few times and fell fast asleep.



The alarm rang early in the morning, lazy as ever Rob didn't want to get out of bed, but sluggishly made his way up. With a grunt he forced him self into the shower, when he was done he brushed his teeth and chose what he would wear.
Nothing too fancy but non the less elegant. When he was ready he took his phone and stuffed a knife inside his coat. Before he left he checked his nose, it seemed to be a little red but nothing too bad. Rob rushed down the stairs to the nearest cafe and got himself breakfast. He didn't know what time to be at Buca per say but he decided that 9 or 10 would be an okay time, so he ate his breakfast slowly and ordered a taxi.

That... was least expected.

She almost thought she dreamt it all as soon as her body flew from the bed. Her hand ran through the messy locks of her hair as she finally calmed her breathing down to a steady heart beat. At that moment, she knew she did not dream up the night before. She didn't dream up Rob, or his company, and lastly...his kiss upon her lips was not a dream. They were warm and she remembered how her body reacted. It caught on fire almost and she welcomed it completely. She hoped she could kiss him again...

... Her fingers moved against her lower lip, as if she could just almost feel his lips upon her own still. She took a deep breath and felt herself blushing. "Damn Hayden." She muttered, stood from her bed and headed to her shower.

She was still thinking about it.

No matter how hard she tried not to, he was still on her mind. She smirked, pulled off her clothing and showered quickly. She had work. It was obvious as she hurried with her shower, got dressed and pinned her hair up. Unfortunately, she couldn't find something flashy enough or complimentary, but she did find a dress that seemed to suit her. Luckily, she had boots to go with it. It was something easy to walk in, without the fear of tripping and spilling somebody's drink.



She just hoped Maria approved.

As soon as she was dressed and ready to go. She arrived at work as soon as she was able to and quickly made her way behind the bar.

It took a while but Rob was finally a few streets down. "Shit its still early..." Rob looked uneasy as he hoped aurora is there.. Well maybe someone else could get him started. Rob suddenly stopped and stared down the street, it was Hayden's street. He smiled What the fuck is wrong with me, I don't usually act like this... Eh whatever.. After a few minutes he was in-front of the door. The place seemed empty, why wouldn't it be it was still very early. He let out a light sigh as he opened the door. Rob stopped in his tracks and stared for a few seconds. Aurora wasn't behind the bar, Hayden was. Were it any other girl he wouldn't care and just approach, but with her he had to be careful. Rob should have figured it out yesterday, connected the hints. Fuck he mumbled under his breath, thinking of all the things that could go wrong. He put all his thought's aside and approached the bar. "Hey beautiful." he said as he took a seat in front of her. For a moment forgetting what the real reason he came here for.

Hayden was used to people calling her beautiful. She was used to flirtatious pigs drooling over her...unfortunately. But as soon as she head Rob's voice, the nerves kicked in. She turned carefully and her eyes widened and her lips parted. Rob. What the hell was he doing there? She bit the inside of her lip to keep her from grinning like a fool...but she couldn't resist it. She smiled, leaned over the counter and said her hello. "What on earth are you doing here?" She asked, unable to hide her surprise. Her cheeks blushed however. All the things she wanted to say...do. But she had to behave herself, especially right then. "I mean, Hi. I can't believe you're here...I thought, well I don't know..."

Oh god. Was she rambling?

Rob couldn't help but laughing, he could tell she was slightly nervous, but that didn't bother him. He was surprised as she was, but things had to get cleared up sooner or later. He smiled back at her, "Actually I'm here for a job... Aurora told me to come in the morning..." He wondered why Aurora wasn't here, but his mind retracted from the thought when he caught sight of Haydens eyes. He looked around the bistro, checking every empty table before turning back to Hayden. "She isn't here, but someone even better is." He smiled at her, and suddenly remembered of his date tonight. "Hey I was thinking, tonight we can go to a quiet little cafe a few blocks from here, how's that sound?"

Hayden just couldn't believe Rob was sitting in front of her. Her heart must have been pounding because her chest ached. His smile however, she greatly cherished. It made her heart want to melt. "Aurora?" She remembered that name from somewhere and nodded. Wait, he was going to get a job here? Oh boy, that would make things much more difficult between them and yet, she found herself happy about it.

And he smiled again. God, she loved it. She gave a smile of her own and her eyes slightly widened as he mentioned their date plans. "Tonight?" She asked. Did she have any plans later? No. She felt herself blush and nodded lightly. "I'd love to... I might be wearing jeans though, don't own much." She explained.

She looked back at around the room and took a deep breath. No one would see. No one was there. She remembered his lips upon her own and she couldn't help but want to feel them again. It would be brief...

Hayden pushed her hands against the counter and leaned forward, pressed her lips against his and kissed him lightly. She shyly leaned back, murmured a small "Glad you're here." And stepped back behind the counter.

The kiss was a bit surprising, she did work here but its not like anyone was here to see it. It was a good decision to kiss her last night, and now it just felt better. "You can wear whatever you want, I'm sure your gonna look better in jeans then most girls look in fancy clothing." Rob thought a moment, he didn't want to make things awkward, and he didn't want to stick around all day and maybe get the girl fired. He needed a solution. "While were sitting here, can you get me whisky on ice? I would do it myself but I doubt I have the job yet." He laughed slightly.

What the hell was he going to do? As much as he would love too he cant just sit around and flirt all day. He was happy, very happy actually but there isn't much he can do. Might as well order something. "Is anyone else here?"

"I don't know, I've been working behind the counter. People come and go." She answered softly. Whisky on ice. No problem. She hurried behind the counter and grabbed the bottle. She poured it into a small glass, on ice and placed a napkin in front of him on the counter. It smelled weird, she wasn't used to it. She grinned softly and slid the glass toward him. "Here you go."

Was she still blushing? She bit her lip softly. "You're serious about dinner?" She knew he was serious. She was happy about that but something, something about him made her so shy. She scrunched her nose lightly and shook her head. "I must look like a fool."

"Yeah I'm serious, I doubt its gonna the last one too" Rob was sure as hell lively today. He woke up happy, and something really bad needs to happen to ruin his mood today. He took his whisky and sipped on it. "No, you look cute. Extremely cute." Afterwards he gave her a look, and smiled lightly. "I don't know what it is but I can't keep my eyes off of you. Its actually becoming addicting."

Hayden stared at Rob for a moment, her eyes locked on his and she felt her cheeks flush with color. He was addicted, to looking at her? Damn, he had charm. The young woman bit the inside of her lower lip and shyly glanced at the counter. What has gotten into her?

She couldn't understand it. She shook her head and looked back at Rob, eyes locked on his and her fingers brushed across the counter. "I'm not cu- I...would it be weird that I was hoping to see you very soon? And I'm..really happy you're here." She added.

Hayden reached across the counter and brushed her fingers against his for a moment. "Really happy."

Rob looked down at his shoes and laughed to himself slightly. "Hey I was wondering, since no one's here let's go on that date we planned. No one will notice we will be back before the customers start to come. What do you say?" It was sure a bold decision. This could mean he wont get his job. But here now it didn't matter. He thought hard but this was what he wanted to do. Screw the job, if he could make this work he would have something better then a job. "So look in 20 minutes ill meet you in the cafe a couple of blocks from here, you know the one right? French and small, I can't remember the name for the life of me." He smiled and looked at her. "You can go home and change if you'd like... Though I don't see why you would need too. You look gorgeous as it is."

Hayden stared at him for a moment as he began to talk. She wondered what Rob was talking about until he mentioned date and her cheeks flushed with color. She smiled softly and found herself nodding. "I'd really like that twenty minutes? I'll be there." She answered, leaned over the counter and kissed his cheek. She leaned bag and tossed the rag into the sink. "The other bartender could take over, besides, I've been cleaning all morning. I'll meet you at the cafe."

With that, she moved around the corner and couldn't help but smile once more.

Rob had that effect.

Rob left Buca with a grin on his face. Something was normal, she was doing something that he hadn't experienced. Rob had been with lots of girls, but not like her. He walked down the street and sat inside the cafe. He ordered a coffee and asked the waitress to bring some flowers over. So he sat and waited.

Hayden had rushed home. She was too excited to spend some quality time with Rob, in fact, she could feel her heart fluttering at just the idea. As soon as she got home, Hayden stripped and hopped into the shower. She liked the water hot, it soothed her body and it was the only way she could feel clean otherwise. Her favorite loufa as used with lavender scented soap, vanilla shampoo and conditioner…she felt that Rob might like the smell too. As soon as she was done with the shower, a towel was wrapped about her body and she hurried to her bedroom. Three dresses laid across the bed, displaying themselves to her liking. It was a hard choice, but one seemed suitable for a café. And, she could feel herself comfortable beneath the particular threading.

She smiled softly and picked up the hanger quickly, pulled off the dress and pulled it over her body. She dried her hair, brushed it quickly and watched as the natural curls and waves slowly formed themselves. She finished the final touches; earrings, purse, flat heels, and the final touch-ups on her make up. When she finally decided she looked presentable, Hayden made her way out of the apartment. She closed her door, locked it, headed downstairs and made her way towards the café.

She could feel her heart racing. Hayden could feel her nerves acting up as if they were caught by a light flame. She was terrified. However, Rob was worth the nerves, fears and the giddiness. She just…didn’t understand why or how. As soon as the café came into view, her heart raced even harder. She pushed by a young couple blocking the café doors and smiled as soon as she noticed Rob. She made her way to his table, her hand gently touching the chair across from him.

“Is this seat taken?” She smiled, playfully. “If it is, I could certainly sit somewhere else…”

Rob was preoccupied with himself a bit. He went into a day dream thinking about the rest of his day. None of it mattered much though. “Is this seat taken? If it is, I could certainly sit somewhere else…”, god she was beautiful. In her current outfit she outclassed him in every way. "Taken? God's no!" He laughed slightly. "Wow, you look stunning." He gave her a quick look and the waitress came by. "Good evening, May I start you off with something to drink?" Rob thought a moment "Coffee for me, and for you?" He looked at Hayden but could not get his mind to focus on anything but her. She made him feel different, she made him feel in a way he was not experienced with. Frankly it scared the shit out of him, but the good kind of scare. The waitress nodded and left towards the kitchen. The cafe was a nice little place, they had dinner, lunch, and breakfast. The also served some alcohol with tasty looking pastries. "You know I could sit here all day looking at you and I wouldn't even mind." He laughed to himself. "But I guess that's out of the question. So anyway tell me something about you that I don't already know. I know that last night you were holding back some but I'd love to know!" He gave her a warm smile.

Hayden sat down in front of Rob with a soft smile. She couldn't help but feel herself blush at his comments. He wanted to look at her all day? Well, wasn't that different from her usual "Who is that girl" comment. The young woman looked up at the waitress and answered with a small coffee, with whipped cream. As the waitress left, her eyes settled back on Rob's. Her lips curved into a larger smile and she placed her hands on the table lightly, her fingers brushing against the table cloth.

"I'm allergic to rabbits, can't eat nuts." She answered. "My typical day is go home, draw, eat dinner, sleep, go to work... this is the first time I've had fun in months. I feel like I'm floating on air whenever I'm around you, the way you're looking at me now... it's hard not to kiss you." She blushed, her head bowed and she hid her gaze.

"I'm rambling again.. Sorry."

That was...was that Romeo? Of all the people she could have ran into, it had to be Romeo. Oh, she could almost feel the anger boiling up underneath her skin. She clenched her hands into fists and sighed heavily but then, the anger was gone. The environment had struck her hard. She wasn't even sure what was going on.

...First she had the barrel of a gun pointed at her face. She was rescued by a man and then pulled away by Romeo on the arm. How dare him touch her! Oh, he made her skin crawl. Their past history had flooded into her mind the instant she saw his face. He was the reason why she left. He was the reason why she really didn't plan on returning. She wanted to scream at him, thrash and yet... she felt mature about the situation. In response to his question, she replied with a "was just in the neighborhood." She muttered.

She wasn't sure where she was, in fact, her stomach felt like she was going to be sick. It had just hit her. Her eyes widened and she realized the incident she had just experienced. Blood... there was so much blood. She hunched over, held her stomach and collapsed onto her knees.

"Oh God..."

Damn she made him happy. "Ill make sure your daily routine changes whenever I'm around." He gave her an inviting smile. "Rambling? Gods no the sound of your voice is extremely relaxing." He looked to his sides and leaned forward a bit, slowely he placed his hands behind hayden's back and pulled her a little closer so their lips would touch. Luckily for him it wasn't too hard because the table was fairly small. He jumped back into his seat "How was that?" He laughed slightly. The waitress came back around and handed them their coffee. She pulled out a small notebook, "What would you like?" she asked smiling at the two. "Ill just have the turkey sandwich please." she nodded and looked towards Hayden.
