Introduction
It is now 2258, and Shenziro Corporation has essentially taken control of the world. Despite the regulations set up to prevent the establishment of monopolies, Myamoto was the only man who knew how to produce quantum fuel and he and his labs were not willing to sell the information for any cost. Due to the importance of maintaining peace through the ease of access to fuel, the various nations of the world were forced to cede complete control of quantum fuel production to Shenziro Corp. As such, Shenziro Corp. essentially has control of the world, since everyone needs quantum fuel. Myamoto has passed down control of the family throughout the generations, with the implicit instructions that the secrets of quantum fuel remain with the Myamoto family.
Due to the Golden Age brought about by the innovation of quantum fuel, a large portion of the population became wealthier and more successful. Despite this, a small portion still remained incredibly poor, and oddly enough in the cities where Shenziro Corp. factories had been stationed there were always slums present. Nothing has been done to remedy this situation, either by governments or Shenziro Corp itself. Some speculate Shenziro Corp. has bribed the governments to keep the slums around, since they are a source of cheap labor.
Recently, in the slums of New York, a series of disappearances had started sprouting up without much attention. The number of disappearances indicates this is above the level of ordinary crime, but the source of the disappearances is unknown. People claimed that Shenziro was behind them, but no there was no evidence to support these allegations. Despite the lack of evidence, a great contempt for Shenziro Corp. became prevalent in the slums, and acts of violence against the company started occurring in both the factories and throughout the city. Rumors of an active terrorist organization known as the Citizen Liberation Front (CLF) became popular among those in the slums, and assaults on various factories in New York brought in the attention of the authorities. Not long after the CLF came into being, communication with the slums was cut off and a quarantine was put in place. The New York government claimed it was to stop the spread of a plague that was spreading rapidly throughout the slums, but the citizens weren't so sure, as no mention of this plague had been made clear prior to the quarantine. It's up to you to determine what's going on here, but will you be working to help those in the slums, or keep them in their place?
