Setting
There are three main cities; Caerpanis, Tyrpanthis, and Caerpanthis
- Its capitol city, Caerpanthis, is a sprawling, walled city, set into the mountains of the Farron Mountain Range, namely against Silvercrag Peak, the once white marble castle set into the cliff-side eastern face of the mountain, and overseeing the city, in all its crumbling, slowly rehabilitating glory.
The city boasts countless roads and dark alleys, and beneath the broken cobblestones, the sewers house vermin of all sorts, from beasts to thieves in their sprawling, vile scented underground networks. Named the Pilfer's Web, they are a dangerous place to go at any time of the day.
- The city of Caerpanis is a coastal port city on the southern coast, set into the cliffsides and extending out, through magic and hard labor seven centuries ago, ships docking far out, and fishermen's boats bobbing on the waves. The coastline on either side, is a ship graveyard, however, despite the two lighthouses on either side of the city, marking the entrance of safe going.
- The city of Tyrpanthis, the northern border city, is a walled city, with a border of a kingdom on either side. The smallest of the three cities, it only boasts a population of ten thousand, and the streets are run down, cobbles broken and dirt showing through, while weeds and plants flock to the base of every building.
To the northern border, heavy, dark evergreen forests prevail, slowly changing to hardwood seasonal trees as the land goes steadily southward, eventually turning from wind blasted steppes, to coastal grasslands along the southern border, though as you follow the edge of the wild, cliff ridden coast to the west, it becomes a floodplain, with marshlander hamlets and villages dotting the area.
The Farron Mountain Range makes its grand existence long the western edge of the kingdom, extending east into the land, and northwest into the wild, savage lands of the Lycans. Around this range's feet are thick woodlands, glacier fed rivers and streams, and quite the contingent of bandits as you encounter trade roads.
The mountains themselves are peppered with old mines that once were full of activity. But as time passed, and Axelander, the Mad King, or the Ruiner as many called him, pulled men away from their mining jobs to go to needless wars, the mines fell into disuse and ill-repair.
Precious gems, metals, and coal riddle the mountains' depths, and high in their peaks, dragons of all kinds make their dens.
