Personality:
Kazuki has a very Laid-Back, Easy-Going personality. He is extremely easy to get along with and is a great friend to have. While he does have a Competitive side he is always the first one, win or lose, to give a handshake to his opponents. Kazuki is very much an Extrovert and flourishes when he can be Charismatic and Outgoing. A lot of people take him at face value because of this. Despite others assumptions Kazuki is an Intelligent, Disciplined, and Hard-Working young man. He is Respectful of his elders and superiors and was raised to be Considerate of others.
For all of his good qualities Kazuki isn't perfect. He is often Self-Conscious, the reason behind him hiding his art and nerdy side from his friends. He can also be very Opinionated and Stubborn about certain things, especially if his parents have strong opinions about it. This often can make him com across as Jugdemental even if he doesn't mean to.
History:
Alex's birth parents were both college students who were studying abroad, staying in Japan. During their first month they met at a party and Alex's mother didn't even get his father's name. Nine months later Alex was born and his mother gave him up for adoption, knowing she couldn't support a child, especially in a different country. Thankfully, when Alex was still a baby he was adopted by Tamotsu Yoshida, a military official, and his wife Harumi Yoshida, a florist and tea shop owner. Growing up in Japan with a father in the Military Kazuki had a strict upbringing to say the least. A lot was expected from him, especially since he was his parents only child due to his mother being unable to carry a child. Despite the amount of responsibility and pressure his father put on him his mother gave Kazuki twice as much love and care. He grew up happy and content. Honestly, he got by with great ease, taking everything in stride, much to his father's approval. He was trained in martial arts starting from the time he was five, his training expanding into three different types of martial arts over the years. When he was in middle school he also took an interest in sports, especially Soccer and Baseball.
All during his childhood despite most of his time being taken up by martial arts, school, and sports Kazuki always made time to help his mother in her tea garden and drink teas with her every night. Kazuki settled into his life and routine like most people and managed to somehow keep his carefree, laid-back temperament.
That being said when his parents decided to tell him he was adopted the summer after his 5th grade year it threw him for a loop. Of course he had noticed that he looked different than his parents and most of his friends at school but no one treated him different so he had just assumed he was normal. At first he was just upset and avoided his parents. When school started back up his mood soured even more. He grew distant from his friends, hos grades dropped, and he became more aggressive, especially when at the dojo or playing sports. His parents left him alone, hoping that he would work through it on his own but by the end of his sixth grade year they realized he was only getting worse. This parents tried everything they could think of to get Kazuki back to normal, but nothing seemed to work for longer than a few days. During the middle of the summer after Kazuki's seventh grade year his father found out that he would be transferring to America for an assignment that was open ended. When he and his wife were trying to figure out how break the news to Kazuki his wife thought of using it as motivation and surprisingly enough it worked. When they told Kazuki he seemed to perk up a bit and he agreed to their 'terms'. His grades went back up, his attitude improved, and he slowly got back into his old schedule, spending time with his parents.
A year later they packed up their stuff and moved to America. For their first year they lived in DC, his father having to go through certain protocols. At the new school Kazuki easily got A's. He got into sports and practiced at a local dojo, though he didn't enroll since his father told him they were moving to California the year after. When it came time for them to move his parents gave him a choice between Crossroads and a private school in the same area. He, obviously, picked Crossroads and hasn't regretted it at all. He loved the school, the teachers, the sports. He was extremely involved from his first year there, playing multiple sports, being in tons of clubs. The move and introduction to American culture had made him fully himself again, much to his parents joy. Now that senior year has come around Kazuki is wicked excited and can't wait to spend the year with his friends.

Academics:
Most of his life Kazuki has gotten all A's, with the occasional B. Through his Sixth and Seventh grade year, after his parents told him he was adopted, his grades dropped considerably. He was getting C's at best, D's at the worst though he made sure he never failed. During his eighth grade year he brought his grades back up, having made a deal with his parents that seemed to push him back on track. Ever since then he has gone back to his A's and B's.
