Riley can be a very quiet person, but that's merely because he was raised so that he won't speak unless spoken to. Once taken into a conversation he will quickly open up into a fountain of emotions and feelings, often surprising those around him with his harsh opinions and long-winded way of speaking. Many small, hardly-noticeable quirks like this shroud his personality and make it truly a task to dig down and uncover the kind of person he truly is. Once he opens up, however, he is a completely different person from how he may appear.
He's very stubborn, and once he decides on a course of action there is little you can do to sway him. It has gotten him in trouble more than once in his life, and while usually the trouble is small in nature there have been a few times when his hardheadedness has changed his life. Riley is also really very easy to embarrass, to his dismay. Prodding at a few delicate topics can cause him to go completely red in the face and stutter. He absolutely hates this about himself, though some do find it quite endearing.
Honesty is a trait of his that comes and goes, though he may try harder to be honest with the people he cares about. Small things like white lies are the ones he usually comes clean about soon afterwards, but it's the big things that he is never completely honest about. It isn't very good for himself, but he likes to keep things bottled up within him. Things that bother him, for example, are the ones he keeps quiet about until he can no longer take it.
Those are most of his less appealing traits, though. He had many good things about him too. Riley is a very loyal person to those dear to him, and would go to the ends of the earth for them if they wanted. He's the kind of guy you'd call at four in the morning if you had a flat tire and needed a lift. Sometimes he may come across as overbearing and smothering, but he's really just that kind. The one thing he doesn't admit to himself but is obvious to others is the fact that he is a head-over-heels romantic. It isn't uncommon for him to show up on a whim with a dozen roses and a weekend getaway planned, but when thanked he'll just say it's what anyone would do. It's his dream to eventually get married and have children, and he has a soft spot for all little kids.
Bio
Riley was an only child born to the unprepared parents Alexander Kidd and Dee Evans. While his father was willing to give parenting a try, his mother quickly ran off after Riley was born and left them to fend for themselves. To this day, when asked about his mother Riley will always say he doesn't miss her. How can you miss someone you never knew, after all? Yet he can't hide the fact he still harbors bitter feelings over the whole thing. He was a quiet child, not adventurous like most other little boys, and found more comfort in being by himself rather than being surrounded by friends. His father, an entertainer, made only a little money and it all went to Riley's education. So they lived a hard life until Riley was old enough to work and provide enough money for them to have a secure future. He never liked working though, having inherited the desire to do what he wanted to instead from his father, and quickly quit his job to do something he enjoyed more: photography.
Other
His father taught him all his tricks, and he can do all sorts of odd things ranging from palm readings to fireplay. Of course, the only time this really comes in handy is at parties.
