Introduction

It is present day in the land of Almania. Compared to our time they often walk around in the fashion of the late 1800s and they do not have nuclear energy. Under emperor Erich the Third things could be better for a commoner, but it isnt exactly bad either. Life seems to be somewhat satisfying unless you are talented with magic. People who are talented with magic often are taken by the government in their childhood to become royal wizards or soldiers. But those who do not work for the emperor are seen as outlaws and are thrown into dungeons when caught or if they resist service to the king. But where the empire goes to war with the neighboring Picardia, the outlaws find time to go after their own plans. What will happen? Will the emperor use his wizards to battle the outlaws or will the outlaws finally get the freedom and recognition they deserve?

Emperor Erich III

The emperor is seen as a good man by those who dont know him. Those who know him either say he is power hungry or just mislead. The outlaws hate the emperor for the persecution they go through. The emperor sees the magically talented as tools to expand his empire. He spends the whole day in his palace in Muradnia and is only seen when making a speech to the troops.

Muradnia

Muradnia is the capital of Almania. It is where the emperor and his family reside. It has a population of about 500,000 and is in the center of the nation in between all the green fields and mountains. It is industrious on the outskirts. Downtown is full of nice looking building with four to eight floors and each inhabits twice as many families. You can find many pubs but there is one particular pub where outlaws meet that many people do not know about: The Esper.

The Esper

The Esper is a pub in Muradnia where all the outlaws meet. No policeman knows that the people who go to the Esper are exclusively outlaws or magically talented. Not even the royal wizards know of the Esper. If the police would find it out, it would be a fortress where the police or even soldiers would have a hard time.

Himitsu asked Amelia how she was planning to overthrow Erich, while Xandir then repeated what Himitsu had said and then asked why she would think she'd be a better ruler and why the nation even needs a ruler. "Before I came to rule there was first democracy or rather a parliamentary monarchy, but parliament succumbed to corruption as many didn't think of the citizens anymore. Then it came worse, the people stormed parliament and killed those inside it. The worst was to come as the nation plunged into anarchy with roaming bandits and people murdering each other for the tiniest reasons. The royal family had to do something. It retook power and restored peace. We tried to educate the people but they are stubborn and ignorant. We tried to let them rule over themselves but it ended up in chaos. We will not make any experiments anymore. That is why the nation needs a ruler. Humans are such foolish beings you know." After a short break Amelia continued:

"Well my plan was to get the help of other family members who are sick of Erich, fight through the guards and sorcerers, abduct Erich III and throw him into the dungeon. I can do it with or without you. And we could get Xandir's father out too. It would be good to have friends around me. But without friends, I would have nothing and it would be the end of the world."

After hearing what Amelia had to say Xandir felt his anger subside. He took Amelia’s hand in his and said to her “I’ll help you Amelia. You’ve promised to help me find my Father so the least I can do is try to help you.” He grinned at Amelia and then looked over to Himitsu and the boy that was with her. ‘I wonder if they’ll be willing to help Amelia. After all Amelia’s butlers and maids were just trying to kill them… I wouldn’t blame them for not wanting anything to do with her.’

Kota really didn't know how to react. He didn't exactly feel like he had much of an opinion on what the other three should or shouldn't do. He had just met Himitsu after all and barely knew the other two. Did he really have much right to speak? Kota let out a quite sigh and sat himself back down on the chair in front of the table. This lady just attacked us back there. In the library she tried to keep us from finding out who she really was. Yet, now she is opening her arms to us and offering us a position in her plan? This doesn't make any sense. He narrowed his eyes a little, trying to dig into Amelia's brain to see if she had any true intention. He couldn't see anything. Just a blur of random colors and words. For a moment he felt a little dizzy as he let himself come back out of her mind, but quickly regained himself. It must be the curse that she has. I couldn't see anything. He listened as the man with blue hair agreed to help Amelia with her plan. Help him find his father? Kota was a little curious of what he meant but didn't pay too much attention to it. He decided he should answer last. It was only natural as he was the one who had only recently been joined in to this little group. Still, although Amelia seemed to mean well, he couldn't help but feel a little distrustful of her. Then there was the fact that he wasn't even from Muradnia. He'd grown up in a place far away from this city. It took him nearly two years to finally get here and then suddenly everything changed after he met Himitsu. Did he really care much about what happened in this city? It seems I'll just have to wait and see what Himitsu says...

Himitsu let out a small sigh as she listened to Amelia's explanation after Kota's outburst. She had been a little surprised, actually, that he would get so angry over something like this. Though she did figure he must feel a little awkward in this situation. He hadn't been properly introduced to Xandir or Amelia yet and, although she was suspicious herself, she knew he must be even more untrustworthy of Amelia. Still, the offer she was giving was really tempting. Though she had never really been much of a 'work together' person, she would do anything to get Erich off of the throne. She owed it to her former mentor and wouldn't let him down. "I'll help you too Amelia, but only on one condition. Erich doesn't deserve to live. I get to kill him, understand?" she said, turning herself in towards the table and finally relaxing a bit as she picked up a glass of juice and took a drink. "As for Xandir's father, the deal stays the same. I help him find his father and he still teaches me how to use my magic right, okay?" she said, setting the glass back down and then looking over at Kota. "As for you, whether you want any part of this or not is up to you. It's only due to my curiosity that you're even here, so you really don't need to be included. Like I said, it's up to you." She wasn't really sure if Kota would be much help in this plan anyway. Then again, his structure magic might play a big role in it. If he could tell them what each and every inch of Erich castle and pathway's it would be easy to infiltrate. Surely there must be plenty of add-ons to the castle since Amelia last ruled so it is likely she won't be able to recall everything. Of course, from what Himitsu had learned from spending time with him, Kota seemed like a bit of a coward. Even so, there oculd be more than what meets the eye with him.

Amelia listened to Himitsu and then said: "The only problem is, your condition wont work out for me. Even though Erich III is a devious bastard, he still is my great-great grandson, so I would rather put him under constant torture than kill him, unless I would find out from people in the castle that he had killed dissidents. Then he would await a fair trial and if his punishment is execution, then a public execution it is. Why dont you take a seat and have something to eat? There is no need to stall. It isn't as if I intend to poison or drug anybody." Something about Amelia seemed to be horribly wrong. There was an dark aura in her personality, one so dark that even the devil himself would fear. "And you two, forgive me that my maid had attacked you. It was merely a test. There wasn't even the intention to kill anyone."

Himitsu clutched her teeth for a second as she listened to Amelia's answer. She felt a sudden burst of anger rush over her at the thought of letting Erich live. "I don't care if he is related to you in any way!" She said loudly and, almost unwillingly, stood up and roughly met the palm of her hand with the table as she looked over at Amelia. "He's a monster and deserves to die! He has killed thousands and forced hundreds of us into the army!" She growled. She had never felt so upset before. How could Amelia care even a little bit about that bastard? "There is even a chance that Xandirs father has been killed or captured by him!" Himitsu looked over at Xandir for a moment, her green eyes blazing. "Don't you want him dead too? He's a monster and anyone can see that!" She said loudly, looking back at Amelia. Something didn't seem right about her, but Himitsu quickly brushed it off. She was too bothered by Amelia's answer to really pay attention to her own intuition.

Amelia sighed and then took a seat. "If it was only that simple. My family took a vow to protect each member of the family from death. If you really want Erich dead then you will need to hope for the judge to order his execution when Erich comes to trial. But about killing thousands you need to differentiate. He only is responsible for the death of thousands, he hasn't personally killed anyone... in comparison to me. But back then many started to distrust me, saying that I singlehandedly wiped enemy villages off the map, but I only did so for the sake and safety of the empire. Who knows? Maybe soldiers acted on their own and Erich really didn't want to kill anyone. That is the problem with assumptions and rumors. When you rule over an empire, people like to talk bad about you, even if were popular as a benevolent ruler, just like in my time. Back then, family members at the palace heard from maids and workers the rumor that I had my maids and butlers buried alive in this mausoleum." She said. Just mentioning this made a maid behind her break out in sweat, almost shivering in fear. "Some older books said that I was both a benevolent empress and a tyrant. There are many views on a story. Who would you believe when everybody tells history differently?" Amelia though wasn't exactly the kind person she claimed to be. In fact, the three were already in danger just being near her and getting angry around her. Some people in the palace would even prefer Erich over her for particular reasons.

I'm so sorry that I've been absent lately. I recently got engaged and am getting married next month (July 6.) And you know real-life has to come first. Don't get me wrong I love the esper, this rp is really dear to me. However, as I already said real-life is more important right now.
I certainly want to return to rping as Xandir (eventually) but for now I'm on hiatus. Sorry everyone.

I’m extremely sorry for my absence! I will keep trying to post consistently. If you have to leave Xandir behind for whatever reason maybe there’s a way you can do it within the story [ like a sleeping potion/ magic or something] that would work out better than someone else writing as my character. Hopefully that problem won’t even arise because I promise all of you that I will do my part to make this an awesome rp. Sorry for the inconvenience. ^_^;

I sent Luna a PM so lets just take a break from posting for a couple of days and see if she replies. If she doesn't reply in a couple days we can work out who wants to play Xandir. But I would rather have her permission first or better yet just figure out why she can't post often anymore. =/
