An easy-going young man, with speciality in water & music magic, that is searching for his Father.

0 · 327 views · located in Almania

a character in “The Esper”, originally authored by LunaSopor, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Image
Name ☆ Xandir Von Ulrich
Age ☆ 21
Sex ☆ Male
Appearance ☆ peach colored skin, Aqua blue hair and pink eyes.
Clothing ☆ gothic He loves clothes that are fashionable but also practical. For example even the thread in his hair can be used at a moments notice to slice an enemy.
Occupation ☆ Wandering Painter
Goals ☆ To find and free his Father.
Strengths: Water Magic (He can conjure up water and also attack with any temperature of water ) & Music Magic (He can use his singing voice to make people sleep or become paralyzed.) He can sing without using this ability, of course.

Weaknesses: His easy going nature can lead to him being sloppy and unprepared.

Equipment: His traveling cloak has been bewitched to hold a large quantity of objects without seeming to have anything under it, it can also shield him from most elemental magic attacks (it doesn't guard from confusion magic or anything like that.) He simply uses his hands to use his water magic and his singing voice for his music magic.

Likes:
♥ Drawing
♥ Tea
♥ Small Animals

Dislikes:
✖ Getting up early (But he will if he has to… He's VERY cranky in the morning.)
✖ Snakes (He met up with one in the mountains near his house when he was 6 and he's been terrified of them ever since.)
✖ Bad puns/jokes

Alignment ☆ Neutral
Personality ☆ He's a very easy going guy, but it almost seem uncaring about the feelings of others.
Background ☆ Xandir was taught magic at a very young age by his Father. His Mother died giving birth to him, and it still bothers him that he caused her so much pain and never got to meet her. His Father is currently being detained by the police, probably for being caught using magic, but Xandir is not 100% sure where or why. He doesn't have many clues where he can find his father except that he is being detained in Almania.

So begins...

A you-are-so-dumb-what-is-wrong-with-you expression took over Himitsu's face as Xandir slurred some of his words and he stared over at Amelia. He's barely had any wine at all and he's already getting tipsy? What an old man, she though to herself, taking another bite of the steak as thw waitress came around again and placed a plate of three corn on the cobs and a bowl of salad in front of her. "Thanks!" She said, her mouth still full as she dropped the fork on her plate and picked up one of the corn. After swallowing the steak she had been chewing she took a large bite out of the corn before setting it down and using her sleeve as a napkin. "This place is awesome!" she said enthusiastically as she stretched her arms above her head looking over at Amelia. She was eating really properly and hadn't even needed to use her napkin. Himitsu's eyes gazed down at her plate, some of the steak sauce had dripped on the table cloth and a few pieces of corn sat themselves around the plate. I could be worse. Plus, I'm hungry I have a right to be messy. The bus boys are the ones having to clean up the mess anyway, she thought to herself, then looking at Xandir. "You know if you can't handle your alcohol you really are going to fall over in the street. And Amelia and I will leave you their too." She said smiling. "Unlike you, I have a great tolerance to alcohol." She said gracefully. "I hear the older you are, the harder it is for you to control it. Guess you must be pretty old huh?" She said, glancing over at him as she leaned back in her chair to give her stomach a rest.

(OOC: Since Himitsu is just that kind of person, I'll have her do it)

"And what about you? Should I teach you something in magic?"

She heard Amelia say after mentioning freeing Xandir's father. "I'll take any advice you have to give me!" she said, smiling at the young woman. She did seem like a strange, but kind person. Himitsu placed her elbow on th table and rested her chin on her hand, tilting her head slightly and closing her eyes. Xandir is a wizard and a noble in search for his father..but who exactly is thi Amelia girl? She wondered to herself, setting her hands in her lap and staring at the messy table cloth in front of her. Amelia Von Muran. Is that it? All I know about her is her name and the fact that she can use magic..I just met Xandir but I already know quite a few things about him. But her. This Amelia..what does she hope to gain by helping Xandir. She smiled a little. Maybe she's falling for the old man. Wouldn't be surprising. He seems pretty interested in her after all. Himitsu glanced over at Xandir, who was still slurring his words and his face was starting to look a little red. What exactly does Xandir know about this Amelia though? I don't think they've known each other for very long, but they seem close enough. She let out a yawn and stood up. "I'm full! I'll just have to skip out on the pie I ordered. Say, how about we go to the royal library tomorrow morning and see if maybe we can dig up some old records of the prisoners they've been keeping? I think it's a good start." She said with a smile. Von Murin... The named echoed softly at the back of her mind. The library might have something one her because she's a noble. Himitsu did feel a little guilty about the thought of prying through the girls history but she just couldn't resist.

Xandir smiled stupidly back at Himitsu when she gave him that you-are-so-dumb-what-is-wrong-with-you expression. He turned his attention back to his plate and ate the rest of it wishing he hadn’t drunk so much wine. His stomach was starting to bother him and his head felt fuzzy. He closed his eyes and ate another piece of sweet bread.
When he heard Amelia bring up rescuing his Father he responded with slurred words, “I should have been more responsible Amelia. I need to get to sleepy-land now~” He didn’t even notice when Himistu left the table because he closed his eyes and laid his head down on the table. In his drunken stupor he thought that he was in a bed. “Why is this pillow so hard?!” He asked loudly and put his hand on top of Amelia’s. He smiled sweetly at her and said “You’re so beautiful Amelia.” Then he fell into a deep sleep right at the dining table.

Xandir was in a deep sleep as Amelia brought him back to her place. When he was laid down on a soft bed Xandir woke back up. He still felt very out of it from the alcohol so when he was kissed on the forehead by Amelia’s soft lips he gently put his hand on hers and kissed her passionately on the lips. Xandir’s face was burning from the alcohol and his feelings for Amelia as he gently held his lips on hers. Once he pulled out of the kiss Xandir looked at Amelia he looked up at her with a massive blush across his face.
He wasn’t sure what to say to her and honestly wasn’t sure if he could say anything. His throat felt extremely dry so he said in a raspy voice, “May I have some water Amelia?”

As they left the restaurant Himitsu waved goodbye to Amelia as she dragged Xandir down the street and told her she was off to a nearby inn that she was staying at. As she walked down the stone street she turned the corner and made her way down a dark ally way. After walking through the empty city for quite a while she came to a large, old building with a massive door and a wide stone staircase. In the archway of the door was a beautifully carved sign that had the words 'Library' carved deep into the center of it. Himitsu made her way up the stairs and pushed the door open and stepped in. The library had a very high ceiling and wooden staircases leading up to the second and third floor that were painted red and polished to a brownish color. aligned symmetrically along the walls were brightly burning candle sticks that lit the libraries large space. The library seemed to be completely empty and the man at the check out desk had fallen asleep while reading. She held back a chuckle and walked down one of the isles and scanned the long row of books on the shelves, her eyes quickly adapting to the dim lighting. N..N...N...ah! here it is, she thought to herself and began pulling books off the shelf and stacking them in her hand. After stacking about five books on 'the history of nobles' on her right hand, she placed her other hand on the top of the books and walked over to an open space where there were short, red-wood tables and comfortable relaxing chairs. She took a seat in one of the chairs and tumbled the books onto the table. Picking a large blue book up with the words 'Records; Now and Then' engraved in the cover, she leaned back and placed the book on her lap and began to read.

Xandir drank the whole glass of water Amelia gave to him. “Thank you Amelia.” He responded still slightly slurring his words. He laid his head back on the soft pillow as Amelia offered him some cookies. “No thanks. I should get some sleep for tomorrow.” He fell into a deep sleep and a comforting dream about his childhood.
He was playing in the forest near his house. Pretending to be a mighty warrior by using a stick he had picked up to fight off dragons (they were really trees) around him. He was having so much fun, and then suddenly he heard a strange hissing sound coming from on the trees above him. He stopped in his tracks and looked up the tree and saw a hideous snake. He was immobilized in fear, but then as soon as the snake began to slither toward him he ran away as fast as he could. Once he got home he was crying to his father about the encounter. His father had reassured him that it would be alright, and that if he ever saw the snake again he should just call him for help.
Xandir couldn’t sleep at all that night. He was so fearful that the snake would come back. He had always been such a care free child and had had the mindset that nothing could hurt him. But now that was shattered.
The next evening he was outside with his father gathering wood and he suddenly heard his father cry out loudly. The same snake had come back and had bitten his father’s left hand. Seeing this Xandir was overcome with fear but also filled with anger as the snake was slithering back into the forest. He grabbed the nearest boulder and ran after the snake. He smashed it to pieces, smashed it until it didn’t even resemble a snake.
When he returned to his Father, they had to rush to the doctor. Xandir’s father had to have this left hand removed because the venom had spread.
“Father! I smashed the snake! I’m so glad you’re alright even if your ability to do water magic is weak now.” Xandir had said to his Father still shaken from the whole incident.
“I’m so proud of you Xandir. You faced your fear. Your Mother would be so proud.” His Father’s words echoed through his mind, and a smiled spread across Xandir’s sleeping face as he turned over in the bed.

((Skipping some so we don't have to take up a whole page just to walk through town)

Himitsu leaned her back against the gate surrounding the mausoleum and let out a sigh. She never realized how large the town was until now. Though the afternoon was still a ways off, she was exhausted for walking so long. This made her wonder a little how Kota was doing. He didn't seem very strong back at the library when the statue had attacked them. She smiled to herself, admitting it was nice to have some company while her drunk mentor was probably suffering from a hangover and who knows what Amelia was doing. Though most likely this boy didn't have any magical talent, he seemed like a some-what smart person and it was nice having someone around she could pick on. In fact, she was hoping to get the chance to scare the hell out of him after they entered the mausoleum. "So!" she said, sounding a bit breathy as she turned to face the large stone building. "I bet it's a maze in there. Got any idea what we could use to mark the paths we take so we don't get lost?" she said, turning her head to him with a smile.

"Xandir, wake up. We are going to make a trip."
Xandir woke up to Amelia’s voice beckoning him to wake up in his ear. He shivered and felt certain parts of his body react to this gentle blow in his ear. He sat up in bed and held the blanket over his lower body and tried to calm down so that Amelia wouldn’t see how that soft groan in his ear had affected him.
‘I’m surprised I don’t have a hangover.’ He thought to himself as he finally got out of bed and then looked at Amelia. He blushed as he remembered what had happened last night. ‘I should apologize to her and Himitsu. I was being so irresponsible last night.’ He decided now was not the time to bring that up because there seemed to be urgency in her voice. “Is something wrong Amelia? Where are we going?” He asked rubbing his eyes.

(OOC: I’m extremely sorry for my absence! I will keep trying to post consistently. If you have to leave Xandir behind for whatever reason maybe there’s a way you can do it within the story [ like a sleeping potion/ magic or something] that would work out better than someone else writing as my character. Hopefully that problem won’t even arise because I promise all of you that I will do my part to make this an awesome rp. Sorry for the inconvenience. ^_^;)

When Amelia grabbed Xandir’s hand and the room shifted to another place, Xandir began to question if he was still dreaming. Figuring that this was part of some sort of spell Amelia had created Xandir sat down at the table uneasily. He was impressed but also a bit dizzy and shaken; he hadn’t expected the room to suddenly shift into a completely different one. There was something oddly comforting about this room. Xandir’s stomach growled. “ Uh…Well… I guess I’ll have some coffee and I guess anything you want for breakfast. Thanks Amelia. That was some really interesting magic. What is that kind of magic called?”

Xandir thanked Amelia and gulped down the coffee as soon as it appeared before him. He sipped the coffee gently as Amelia told him all about archaic magic. ‘Father never mentioned this type of magic to me.’ He thought as she went on to explain how demons showed the humans of their magical potential. “Wow. I had no idea that magic like that existed.” He was in awe but also a bit fearful to ask Amelia any more questions about this dark magic she liked to use. ‘I need to be careful about the questions I ask Amelia. I don’t want to learn dark magic. Honestly I want to stay away from it, just hearing about it makes me feel uncomfortable for some reason…’ Xandir sat silently drinking his coffee until Amelia spoke again.
“Our guests? I’m guessing you mean Himitsu but who else are you talking about Amelia?” Xandir’s confusion turned to shock when he heard Amelia say that they were in an ancestral tomb. “Wha- Why would you bring us he-“ Xandir stopped speaking as soon as Amelia summoned 4 people that were dressed in maid and butler outfits. They all looked about in there twenties but something was strange about them… For some reason the blank expressions on their faces made Xandir feel uneasy. ‘What’s going on here?! Who are these people?! Does Amelia have them under a spell?’

Xandir sat at the table awkwardly as Amelia spoke to the maid and butlers. A shocked expression spread on his face when he heard that these butlers and maids had been “at rest” for eighty years. When Amelia summoned all of the breakfast food onto the table Xandir thanked Amelia and loaded up the plate in front of him. Chewing on a piece of bacon he turned to Amelia hesitantly. “Uh… Amelia. Who are these people? Did you cast spells on them that make them look young forever like you?” He asked with courage, hoping that she wouldn’t get annoyed at him asking questions.

"Wait a minute you're not going to kill us?" Kota asked, still hesitant. He felt a little suspicious as the maid went on about her mistress and going easy on them. He stood up and picked up his knife and slid it back into its sheath on his belt. "And I'm not a kid alright I'm 18 that clearly makes me an adult!" The maid then opened up another door which led to a large room that had a table set with many different foods. There were a few other maids and a woman and a young man. Who are these people? He thought to himself and glimpsed over at Himitsu. Though, he was standing a few feet behind her so he could only see the back of her head. His eyes then gazed back upon the young woman who was standing in the room. She looked very similar to Ameliandaria, too similar for his taste. Is this the Amelia Himitsu kept mentioning? He didn't feel right about this. Somehow the aura of the room was making him a little dizzy. He would have tried reading the minds of the other dead assistants in the room but it would be impossible. Something dead doesn't really have a mind of its own anymore, so there was nothing to read.

Himitsu glared down at Kota, who had made a sarcastic comment about her water magic. "Shut up it's not like you've been doing anything!" She said, then turned her attention back to the maid who had just told them that her mistress had told her to go easy on them. Not...a kid.. She thought to herself, clenching her teeth to hold back a retort. Now wasn't the time to be getting all fussy about being called a kid, this was serious. Himitsu let out a relieving sigh and followed the maid into another room.

"Welcome, you two. Have a seat. You are in time for breakfast."

She heard a voice say as she entered the room with Kota following behind her. In that moment her heart lurched as she looked to see Amelia standing next to where Xandir was sitting at a table and eating. "A strange place to be having breakfast wouldn't you think?" Himitsu said, her voice calm but clearly showing suspicion. Is he in on this too? she thought to herself, glancing over at Xandir and then glaring back at Amelia, keeping her left hand hovering over her gun.

Kota took a seat and picked up a cup full of orange juice that was set on the table and took a drink, then set it back down lightly so not to make a noise. There was clearly a lot of tension going on in this room and he felt uncomfortable. He listened as Himitsu and the woman, who Himitsu has just addressed as Amelia, began to talk a little. He glanced over where the blue-haired man was sitting and wondered if he was just as confused as he was. It was a little awkward. He had no idea who these people were, and Amelia seemed really suspicious. He glanced back over to where Himitsu was sitting a couple feet away from him as she began to talk about the incident that happened back in the library, then heard her say in her head that it was time to get to the point. Get to what point exactly? He thought to himself, his eyes hesitantly trailing up to where Amelia was standing. The young woman answered Hmitsu question more bluntly than he had expected and he was rather surprised, though his facial expression clearly showed that he was confused. This woman is Ameliandaria? The demon empress? How is she even still alive? Is she really a vampire? Kota shook his hed slightly, but not enough for the others to notice. That's ridiculus why would I even suggest that? It's got to be something else...Her white hair..red eyes. That isn't natural at all, it sure does make her look like a vampire though. Is she cursed? Once again his headache began to itch at the back of his mind as he tried to figure everything out in one go. He decided it would be best to let Amelia..or Ameliandaria, or whoever she was, explain.

Xandir was shocked when Himitsu and a boy that he had never met before entered the room. He was certainly confused at everything that Himitsu said. ‘She was researching Amelia’s history at the library? Had Amelia put them in danger?! They were being attacked by Amelia’s maids?! Why would Amelia order them to attack Himistu and this boy?!’ He thought to himself, feeling a bit guilty that he had been enjoying a nice breakfast while Himitsu and this boy were being attacked. As Xandir continued to listen to what Himitsu had to say he felt completely shocked. When Himitsu asked the Amelia if she was truly Amelia he felt his body tense up. He was ready to being fighting if Amelia or any of her maids attacked them.
‘How did I get myself into this situation?! Maybe I should have just kept to myself.’ Xandir thought as there was silence after Himitsu question. When Amelia finally answered Xandir stared at her in shock. “You’re a demon empress named Almeliandaria and Erich’s mother?!” Xandir stood up from his chair and slammed his hands on the table. “I felt that I could trust you Amelia. Perhaps I was foolish to open myself up to you...To…To kiss you. Don’t keep secrets from me- I mean us anymore! Explain everything to us! Explain now!” Anger surged through Xandir. His is the angriest he had ever been in a long time. He stared intensely at Amelia waiting for an explanation.

Himitsu flinched a little as Xandir stood up and caused an outburst. She laughed a little in her mind as she thought of Xandir kissing Amelia. What, she is only a couple years older than you. She thought to herself and glanced over at Xandir, laughing once again inside her mind, then looking back at Amelia as she shushed him. The room began to change a little, revealing the scene of Amelia's life as she told her story and reason for being there. At last, she completed her story by telling them she plans to get rid of Erich III and take over rule again. A position in the royal court. she thought to herself, her eyes trailing down to the floor to think. I could very easily learn magic that way. More than just water magic too. I wouldn't have to worry about not having a place to sleep. I wouldn't have to worry about food or not having any medicine if I were to get sick. I could stop forcing magic users to be apart of the army. With all of these things going through Himitsu's head, her eyes trailed up to look at Amelia once again. "How exactly do you plan to overthrow Erich III?" She asked bluntly. Erich III had an entire army to back him up. There would be no way just the three, well, four of them could possibly do anything without worry. But, exactly how much power did Amelia have?

Kota sat in silence as the blue-haired man began to shout at Amelia and she quieted him. After that she explained what was going on and her plan to overthrow Erich III. As the changed room began to turn back to normal the woman mentioned something about offering them positions in the royal court if they helped her complete her task. Then there were whispers, bits and pieces of what Himitsu was thinking. Then she asked how Amelia planned to to take Erich's place. She's not really going to agree to this right? He thought to himself. Yet, there was still the question on why he would be given a position as well. So he wouldn't protest against it? It was clear these three people have already met and know each other well enough, so what right did he have in this? If he had never walked up to Himitsu in the library he would probably be at the Inn sleeping right now or reading a good hero book. There is no way I'm accepting this! He though to himself. "Yea, tell us how the hell you would overthrow him?" He said loudly and stood up, roughly setting his hand on the table. "You were supposed to die a long time ago. How could someone dead possibly rule? How could anyone trust a demon like yourself? Lastly, why would you try so hard to keep Himitsu from coming here, then suddenly invite her to join in on your plan? There has to be more to what you're telling us about your self! And those pictures in the entrance, they didn't seem rather thrilled with you either. I recall one of them saying something about how many souls you've taken. That other image, of the woman's silhouette and with the wave of her hand so many soldiers were dead. You wanna tell us if those images are actually real or just mere beliefs of what you've done?" He questioned firmly, his legs shaking a little but no9t enough to be noticed. He wasn't very good at trying to look tough either.

As the room changed back to normal Xandir still felt frustrated as he listened to Amelia’s story. He wasn’t sure why he felt so annoyed that Amelia had been keeping this a secret from him. She didn’t owe him anything, they hadn’t know each other for very long at all. When Amelia offered all of them positions in the royal court after she takes over Erich’s place he didn’t know how to feel. Part of him felt thankful to her for the offer, but part of him didn’t want to be around Amelia anymore.
When he heard Himitsu say "How exactly do you plan to overthrow Erich III?" He childishly repeated what she said. “Yeah how do you plan to overthrow Erich III?! And even if you you do what makes you think you’ll be a better ruler than he is? Why do the people of Almania even need a ruler?!”

After hearing what Amelia had to say Xandir felt his anger subside. He took Amelia’s hand in his and said to her “I’ll help you Amelia. You’ve promised to help me find my Father so the least I can do is try to help you.” He grinned at Amelia and then looked over to Himitsu and the boy that was with her. ‘I wonder if they’ll be willing to help Amelia. Kota really didn't know how to react. He didn't exactly feel like he had much of an opinion on what the other three should or shouldn't do. He had just met Himitsu after all and barely knew the other two. Did he really have much right to speak? Kota let out a quite sigh and sat himself back down on the chair in front of the table. This lady just attacked us back there. In the library she tried to keep us from finding out who she really was. Yet, now she is opening her arms to us and offering us a position in her plan? This doesn't make any sense. He narrowed his eyes a little, trying to dig into Amelia's brain to see if she had any true intention. He couldn't see anything. Just a blur of random colors and words. For a moment he felt a little dizzy as he let himself come back out of her mind, but quickly regained himself. It must be the curse that she has. I couldn't see anything. He listened as the man with blue hair agreed to help Amelia with her plan. Help him find his father? Kota was a little curious of what he meant but didn't pay too much attention to it. He decided he should answer last. It was only natural as he was the one who had only recently been joined in to this little group. Still, although Amelia seemed to mean well, he couldn't help but feel a little distrustful of her. Then there was the fact that he wasn't even from Muradnia. He'd grown up in a place far away from this city. It took him nearly two years to finally get here and then suddenly everything changed after he met Himitsu. Did he really care much about what happened in this city? It seems I'll just have to wait and see what Himitsu says...
