Personality

Mary is sweet and loving she has waited the whole war for her Beau to come home. Many of her friends called her crazy waiting so long but Mary is Loyal to him and would never love anyone else. She loves reading and listening to the radio, she goes to the dance clubs every couple of weeks, but unlike many of her friends she doesn't bring a boy home with her. Being a sweet farm girl she no stranger to work, her mother taught her how to run a house and she really does enjoy cooking. Mary is at a point in her life when she wants to get married, start a family and live happily ever after just like in the story books.

History

Mary is the middle child of Hazel and Martin Thomas, she has two older brothers and a younger sister. When her high school sweet heart left for the war she was devastated but she knew he was doing it for their country. She spent the whole war doing her part to help their boys over seas, but still worried whether he would come home or not. But when she heard right after Christmas in 1946 that the war was over the only thing she could think about was getting to see him again. But what worries her the most is will her still feel the way for her he did when he left. Will he love her as much as she loves him.

Over the years she has worked hard graduated form high school, and right now has a job as a secretary for a law office in their town. She works hard for a reasonable pay, but she much rather be running a house and changing diapers then answering phone and typing messages. As of right now she still lives with her parents, but if things go as planned she'll have her own home soon. This thought has been keeping Mary busy preparing by buying things she will need in her won home and storing them in a hope chest at the foot of her bed.

Mary has a loving and caring relationship with her parents, they just pray that their little girl doesn't get hurt by the man she loves so very much. Her one of her older brothers will be coming home from the war as well, but sadly Joseph the second to oldest was killed in the war. She misses him deeply because they were the closest in age. Even though she elated that her boyfriend is coming home she's still sad because she lost her brother. But she is curious as to how the war has affected two of the men in her life.
