Rules:
GENERAL:

I am presenting here our rules and regulations, for your reading pleasure. This is just our small and concise way of keeping a friendly and ongoing role-playing environment for everyone. This won’t take long.

When you join, please register with your characters first and last name! I suggest you check the History, Rules, News, & Updates section to see if the cannon of your choice is available. There can not be multiples of the same character. You MAY create an original character of your own creation, if you wish, who really admires the one you wish you could be. Perhaps you could write with him/her. I find that unless someone is busy, generally they will be able to write with you. Just ask nicely.

I had chosen to put that Character's have to be approved, while everyone is OK with just about everything you create, I felt the need to do that because there are some people who wish to do things like be a Dwarf who was adopted by elves. This kind of RP is not allowed. It's best to stay within the confines of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings genres. If you wouldn't see it in a movie or read it in a book, chances are that it won't be happening on the forum either.

THE CHATBOX:
It's wise to not give out your real life information on the internet. If someone ASKS you for personal information then it's your call on weather or not you do. Even when you learn someone's real name, we still use our character's names when speaking to each other. It's just the best thing to do incase someone doesn't want their real name spread around.

Pe Polite. When you plan to Be right back (BRB) or are away from keyboard (AFK) please let everyone else know what you're doing. It's only polite so that someone isn't left waiting for a response while you're away.

It's also nice to be nice. Greet people when they return. The chat box disconnects every fifteen minutes. Not even Thorin Oakenshield himself can fix that, we're just going to have to deal with it. A welcome back is always nice to hear upon returning.

If you're tired and would like to leave, please state so before leaving. It's just not polite to leave your RP Partner waiting on you.

ROLEPLAY:
Godmodding:

Godmodding is not acceptable. The only time Godmodding will be allowed is when you are rping with a friend in a group and your friend cannot be online to make their post for their turn. They may ask you to include them in your post and catch up later. This is fine. However, they cannot do that all the time.

Sexual Scenes:
Erotic Role Playing is fully not allowed on our forum. It’s against our rules and the main Forumotion.com’s rules as well. Sexual role-playing with a minor, well, that’s just bad form. Expect a banning or at least a stern talking to.

You can go ahead and let love blossom between you and another character. We ask that you please take steamy scenes to PM or outside of forumotion such as email or messenger. People can wait for you to return to the story.

Pregnancies are only to be played out when agreed on by both parties involved. I know it sounds like a silly rule to have here and most people already know this but, it just had to be stated.

Please keep in mind that this is a ROLE PLAY FORUM and not a dating website. We at The Hobbit take our relationships for our characters very seriously, we would like it if you could do the same. If you are seriously seeking that special someone to role play with, you're going to have to get him/her by good old fashioned hard work. Roleplay it out. Then, and only then will you have the feeling of great achievement in knowing you reached the attention of that special someone on your own merit.

Quarrels:
On every forum people have problems with one another. It could be as minor as a personality conflict. We ask that you please try your best to work it out with the other person. If an agreement/solution is not found then please PM a moderator and wait to see what resolution can be found. This is the chain of command. You contact the other person first- If not resolved contact Moderator- If the issue can not be resolved, The moderator you contacted will contact the administrators and let them know what is happening. A resolution to your problem will be discussed with you then,by the Moderator you PM'd. Let's try to keep everyone as happy as we can, Members.Administrators and Moderators alike!
