Introduction
In the small, infamous town of Monroe Falls, there are wolves that walk among the humans year after year, winter after winter and the quaint city has yet to figure out they are actually colleagues, friends, and family even. There are many other towns home to werewolves, those towns only are graced with one pack, one problem. Monroe Falls is cursed with two packs raging in war.
These werewolves have lived among them since it's founding days in the early twentieth century. A hundred years ago however, a horrible feud broke out between two families whom both wanted to be claim the Alpha position of the pack. Both thought they would be the best leader. Both thought it was their right to claim the Alphaship from their alpha who had passed away. The only way to figure out who would be Alpha was to fight for it.
As the fight commenced, the pack began to split into sides. The more the fight between the families seemed to drag on (endlessly it felt like, with no clear victor), the pack began to fight each other over who was supposedly victorious... and before anyone realized what happened, the pack was split as each family walked away with their supporters - their new pack.
Hardly anyone in the packs today remembers that story and merely assumes that the two packs: the Greybacks and the Nightshades have always been this way, since humans and more werewolves came Monroe Falls. Unfortunately for the two packs, it's becoming riskier for them to be separated than united as humans press in on their territory, building and stripping it away for their purposes. As the territory becomes smaller for the wolves, the more hostile some of them are towards each other.
A war is brewing between Greybacks and Nightshades on who will get the land, and no one is sure who will come out on top, but that's not their only problem. No one can really explain it. No one really knows when or how Monroe Falls became the center of supernatural activity. Many of the older werewolves blame the two families for causing a disturbance in supernatural activity all those years ago.
Humans who know of their existence try to keep their heads down. The ones that don't know of them β well it's said the ignorance can be a blessing.
