"You're welcome..." She muttered, following him onto the ship. She couldn't seem to fathom why they would send such a huge boat for so few people. She frowned.

Julian followed Angel up the ramp. The ship was beautiful. He wanted to paint it.
"Such beauty...." he trailed off as he looked out at the water.

Gabby blushed at the word beauty. "May I watch you paint Julian?" She brushed her blonde hair out of her face which was blowing in the ocean breeze.
Climbing onto the ship Angel made a b-line for Ace. "I suggest looking less like you're going to collapse again and a bit more like you want to punch someone in the face. That type of look seems to be your norm." She walked away with a shake of her head.
Ace looked after Angel, taking a step backward. "I'm glad my norm has made such an impression on you," he yelled after her.
She ignored him and slipped into the lower decks of the ship, eying what was left of her ticket stub, which had the number of the cabin she'd be staying in. She found it without much trouble and slid inside, propping the door open. She collapsed onto her bed and sighed, staring up at the ceiling and fiddling with her ring again. Something told her that this was going to be a long trip.
"Sure thing, Gabby. I have to rest now though. Maybe tomorrow."
Julian searched for his cabin and once he had found it, he was happy to take the load of luggage off his arms.

Julian woke up to the sound of seagulls squawking overhead. He sat up in bed and stepped out of his cabin, running for the deck. He could just see the rising sun and its beauty. He reached for the drawing book tucked under his arm and began sketching.

Angel woke in a cold sweat. She sat bolt right in bed and rubbed her neck. Standing she rummaged through her bag and changed into a pair of baggy jeans and a tank top. She wandered the lower parts of the ship aimlessly, climbing out onto the deck staring out into the ocean. She watched as the suns rays caused streaks of pinks and oranges to slice through the sky. She smiled and leaned against the railing.
Julian looked up from his sketching, his eyes finding Angel. He smiled, lifting up his hand and signaling her to come forth. Did she know how much the sun complimented her features?
"Good morning. And I thought I was the only early bird"

"Force of habit really." She said with a smile. "I use to get up this early as a kid. Guess I'm just a creature of habit." She eyed his sketch book. "Seems you were unable to resist a sunrise, huh?"
Julian waited a moment before turning back to his work. "They're almost different out here, something having to do with the reflecting water."
He looked out at the sun rise once more.
"Have you ever been on the water?"

She shrugged. "Not since I was a kid. My parents owned a beach house that we use to go to every summer. My dad use to take us out on the boat to this little island about twenty minutes away. We would fish out there. The last time I was on the water I was thirteen years old."
Julian smiled at Angel's memories, playing with the images in his head.
"Sounds like a childhood dream. Why did you stop going?"

She looked out over the water. "My mom died. My dad was never the same after that. He disappeared a few years later."

Julian's eyebrows knitted together. He set his drawing book aside and turned so he was fully facing Angel.
"That's.... horrible. I still have both parents....," he trailed off.

She smiled softly. "It was ok. It was just me and my siblings after that. We were a close bunch, the seven of us. Three sets of twins and a single boy."
"Yeah, there are seven of us. Me, my twin sister Sasha, the second set of twins Ken and Kera and the youngest, Kyle and Kara. My parents had a think for "k" names I think. Then there was Rafael, my older brother." She smiled.
"Yeah, we were. But I made some stupid decisions as time went on and then I left. Moved to the city. I haven't really talked to any of them in quite a few years." She looked up at the sky. "Shame kept me from doing so, I guess." She gave herself a mental shake. "What about you? What was your family like growing up?"
Julian sat back a little as if he were contemplating the question. A smile came onto his face, but it appeared a little forced.
"Nothing much," he stifled a laugh. "Typical family." His eyes found the sun and he grew quiet.

Ace awoke with a jolt. His cabin was dark and he had to wait a moment to realize that he was no longer sleeping. He stumbled out of the cabin, struggling for a cigarette. The deck was glistening in the sun. "Too bad I don't care," he muttered grumpily. He made a left towards the side of the ship, leaning over the edge. The waters crashed into the side of the ship, causing him to stumble a little.
