The demon nodded. "Yes, yes. Haha. You would do well to befriend me, Artemis and Aristotle. The demon and the one-eyed man. Legends in the world of prophets." Artemis said, half-joking. The demon hadn't touched his noodles and pushed it to his new friend. "Don't you hesitate to say my name infront of a mirror if you ever need me, or just want to hang." The demon nodded.

"I have to go. It was good meeting you."

Aristotle groaned as he sat against a wall, in one of the many alleyway's around the city, looking around lazily, he was exhausted because he hadn't gotten much sleep lately. He didn't know why exactly but he was trying to figure it out. It was late at night, and he was sitting in pitch black darkness. He thought about the individual he had met earlier that week or was it a few weeks ago? He remembered what he said and then took a deep breath. "Artemis.......Artemis" he said out loud, and looked around, waiting for something to happen.

There was a purple flash and a snarl, the brick wall to the left of Aristotle faded, one brick at a time to an empty blackness. The portal stood for a long time, an empty hole in the bricks before something jumped out with a crazed laugh. "Free!" Artemis screeched, looking around wildly before settling it's glowing eyes on Aristotle, his human friend.

The hole behind him suddenly filled with bricks again. "You usually summon your friends at night in alleyways, Aristotle?" Artemis asked, almost mockingly. The demon circled the human before settling for standing infront of him, grinning with it's backwards teeth.

Aristotle looked around the alleway, and then heard the snarl, looking around cautiously. "Artemis?" he asked and then looked over as he saw the purple flash, and saw the bricks fading and showing an empty blackness, and looked closely at it, but not too close, he had to be safe. His eyes then widened as he saw the thing jump out of the portal, and then it's eyes focused on him. He gulped a little and then examined the figure, recognizing it as Artemis. "Well, I didn't think that it would be safe to......uhm....summon you in the light? Or something along....along those lines" he said nervously, watching the creature circle him before standing in front of him.

Artemis lifted a heart to his heart and laughed. "You would've killed me! The light ain't nowhere for me, or my friends." The demon added, laughing as if the prospect of burning to death amused him, which it did. The demon suddenly lent forward and patted him on the back with it's taloned hands. "Nothin' to fear from me, Aristotle." The demon grinned, then leaned back and poked his head around the corner of the alley.

"Wh'dt you summon me here, got something you want dead or just want to talk?"

Aristotle grinned back, "Exactly! I sort of figured that, so I didn't call you in the light." he said with a laugh back, and started calming down more. He was patted on the back and chuckled a little. "Well, actually, just want to talk.......got nothing else to do exactly. I'm actually really sick of this place, got anywhere we can go, kind of curious where......you hang out most of the time, since you yelled "free" when I summoned you" he said with a curious sounding tone of voice.

Artemis smiled his pointed grin and peered back around at Aristotle. The demon would've raised it's eyebrows before it turned around and shook his head. "I spend most of my time in the nightscape, you can't reach it. The dark doesn't like humans, especially ones from here. No offense, I like humans." Artemis begun, shrugging it's long limbs.

"Y'see, the nightscape is more like a prison. The nightbreed belong their as guardians of it's dark... darkness? It's hard to explain in English." Artemis grimaced. "Boss usually lets me out on runs, I could take you other places though. Places that would be dangerous if I wasn't there."

Artemis nodded. "You want some exciting adventure, eh?" The demon suddenly sprung forward, grasped Aristotle by the left arm and they disappeared into a puff of purple smog. There was a loud hissing noise and the smell of stinging ozone as they reappeared in the middle of the nothing at The Maw.

'The Maw is a violent and chaotic area where loose energies spew from an endless twisting cavern system that runs deep to the planets core. These energies seem to be the reason for much of the nearby corruption.' was the description it's discovered had given it, Artemis was a frequent explorer of it's craziness.

Artemis hung from a nearby rocky overhanging a storm of energy, hopefully still gripping Aristotle's arm.

The setting changes from Main Street 1 to The Maw

Artemis grinned and shook his head, scrabbling upward with immense upperbody strength and dragged Aristotle to his feet on an outcropping and leaning over the edge and gesturing down at the enigmatic lightning storm. "This is where realities tear." The demon laughed, holding his chest as if it was funny.
