Name: Gabriel Artur
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Orientation: Heterosexual
Occupation: Marine biologist
Appearance: With unkempt dark hair and stubble that tends to evolve into a full beard when out in the field (with therefore more important things to occupy his time other than shaving), Gabriel looks more like a eternally hung-over student than a up-and-coming young marine biologist. His Brazilian-Portuguese background is evident in the colour of his skin and the dark almost girlish lashes that frame his darker eyes. He has a kind but softly serious face and a slim build that is most at home in the natural environment of his profession: the water.
Skills/Talents: A photographic memory enables him to memorise genii and species with ease and he has an uncanny ability to extract a long-ago recollections from the depths of his brain and assemble them, near-perfectly, in his working memory. Show him a fish he'd seen a picture of in a textbook five years ago and he can reel off its Latin name in a manner than occasionally surprises even himself. A childhood spent in a small town on the Brazilian coast and an adulthood spent studying the marine biology has made him a strong and agile swimmer with a huge lung capacity.
Strengths: Softly-spoken and slow to judge, Gabriel is a good listener and there's something about his manner that means others rarely see him as a threat and often as a person to confide in. These qualities, combined with his eloquence of speech and genuine enthusiasm, makes him unexpectedly persuasive when he wants to be.
Weaknesses: He has a certain naivety and unwillingness to believe the worst of anyone that leaves him vulnerable to confidence tricks and betrayal. His informal approach to his work and easy-going attitude can very occasionally grate on those who are more highly strung than he and a certain dreamy idealism means than reality is often an unsatisfying come-down from what he imagines.
