Gate of Babylon: Granted to him upon casting off his sins at the holy altar of the fallen city of Babylon he was granted access to this the vault of lost and destroyed weapons through history. Due to his long and multiple lives he has proficiency with many kinds of weapons. His favorite weapons though are among his strongest.

Upon activation of the gate the area around him begins to ripple a dimensional portal leading directly in to the vault. From it extends the hilts of hundreds of swords lost and destroyed through the history of man. He simply just reaches his right hand back behind him grasping the hilt of the dagger there and draws it out. This Dagger is the key to the Gate and using it opens the rippling vortex summoning multiple swords to appear out of the vortex, He can grab several and weild them or shoot them out from the gate like missiles.

The weapons themselves can be summoned with just a thought but never more than two at a time.

While he can summon the weapon at absolutely no cost to himself, opening the gate itself is another matter. At average he is able to open the gate no more then 3 times in 24 hours.

Personality

Was once Arrogant and cold His many long lives has led him to be some what forgiving and generous to others and receiving a sense of justice. He is still cold though killing those he deems "worthy of death".

Equipment

Inside the gate are countless weapons but among them only some are special, his favorite.

Balmung: In Norse mythology, Balmung was the name of the sword that Sigurd (Siegfried) used to kill the dragon Fafnir. It was forged by Weyland the Smith and originally belonged to his father, Sigmund, who received it in the hall of the Volsung after pulling it out of a log into which Odin had stuck it nobody else could pull it out. Eventually this sword was lost over time and found its way into the Gate of Babylon

Durandal: This gleaming, holy sword is enchanted by three miracles, allowing its blade to never dull even when its user's Mana has been expended. Old legends call Durendal indestructible, and claim it was once wielded by Hector of Troy, a skilled lancer who fought in Homer's The Illiad. Later, this sword became famous as the weapon gifted to the renowned paladin Roland by the Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne, who had originally received the blade from a seraph. As time passed Charlemagne died. The Durandal sword was buried along with his body. The grave become lost and the sword found its way to the Gate of Babylon

Hrunting: A magical sword given to Beowulf by Unferth . Beowulf used it in battle against Grendel's Mother .The sword possessed great power and never failed anyone who used it. When Beowulf met his end the Hrunting shattered unexplained. It found its way to the Gate of Babylon

Hrotti: A sword from Fafnir's treasure, which Sigurd took after he slew the dragon. It is a strong weapon but has no unnatural powers. It was lost over time and found its way to The Gate of Babylon. Gilgamesh chooses this sword when he wishes to fight for fun.

Caliburn: The original sword of the king. Pulled from a stone by the legandary king Arthur. It's holy properties as a holy sword rivaled that of its successor Excalibur. When Arthur committed a Sin in battle the blade shattered thus leading it to the Gate of Babylon

Dyrnwyb: Dyrnwyn or White-Hilt was a powerful sword belonging to Rhydderch Hael, one of the Three Generous Men of Britain mentioned in the Welsh Triads. It was sometimes referred to as "Dyrnwyn, gleddyf Rhydderch Hael" or "Dyrnwyn, the sword of Rhydderch"). When drawn, it blazed with fire; if drawn by a worthy man, the fire would help him in his cause, but its fire would burn the man who drew it for an unworthy purpose. Lost over time it now rests in the Gate of Babylon. Gilgamesh has to be cautious of this weapon only able to weild it in times of need. He generally avoids this weapon.

Kusanagi: A Katana found in the tail of a massive eight headed snake. It is considered by most a wind sword able to move at tremendous speed and cut the wind even creating air shockwaves. Lost over time finding its way to the Gate of Babylon.

History

History: He is the legendary Sumerian King Gilgamesh. He is the son of Lugalbanda, the 3rd King of Uruk, and of a goddess, Ninsun. Born into great wealth with more divinity than most demigods, Gilgamesh grows into a conceited and tyrannical ruler. He killed for sport and lived a luxurious life spiting the gods in every way given to him. On one such crusade him and his friend Enkidu killed the "Gate keeper of the gods" scared for their life after hearing about the trial of the gods in which their fate was to be determined, they went into hiding. It was decided that Gilgamesh would live and face the grief of losing his only true friend as Enkidu was struck down with an unknown sickness. Afraid that he would follow in these footsteps Gilgamesh set out to find immortality, after crossing into the underworld he found the leaves of Yggdrisil which he consumed. While this halted his age at 22 and made him impervious to illness he was able to be slain though the power of the leaves threw in in to an endless cycle of reincarnation. It was in his 4th life about 1500 years later that he recognized after losing everything what was truly important so praying in front of the altar of Babylon he cast off his sins cleansing him self and attempted to make peace. It was here the gods granted him the power to enter the Gate of Babylon as a gift of acceptance of his repentance. He has appeared on and off throughout history as an unnamed hero who used mysterious blades becoming known as the thousand blade master.
