Description
To His Highness, King Albazarr The Almighty
I have looked into the mysterious disappearances around our smaller provinces. Heres what I have found in my investigation:
No one knows the true name or form of the mysterious being known as "Malikk Kaa' " , a name given to him by the elves which translates to " The Dark One".
Many have claimed to see him, he appears as a desceased relative or a hero of old. One account from an elven wise man was written as follows. "I saw him in the latter eve. He emerged from the shadows, no...He WAS the shadows. He turned solid before my eyes. I hid behind a tree hoping he did not notice my ever watching eyes. As he began to stroll down the forest I creeped behind, as slowly and silently as possible. As he came into the light ahead I saw, if only for a brief moment, what he looked like. He was unnaturally tall, with long, boney arms and legs. His long brown cloak swiftly blowing in the wind. He carried a staff with poise, like a proper gentleman, even so, something felt wrong. He was off, wrong. His anatomy was almost stretched. My mind told me he was just another wizard heading to the city to sell his trade, but my instincts told me otherwise. Then I saw it, instantly knowing I was right to judge. I saw it...his face..." The wiseman paused uncomfortabley for a moment, staring into the abyss. He began to shake slightly. " His face, was as withered as the fabric of his cloak. His skin appeared stretched, misshapen, unhealthy. And his eyes...he had none. Where his eyes should have been there were nothing but empty sockets. Dry and cracking, green smoke emitted from them. That's when he turned, He saw me. I panicked hid behind the tree. I stood for around an hour before I peeked from the side of the tree. He was still there staring. His lips, they were in a smile. He was laughing at me, like this was all a game to him. He swiftly spun around and continued to casually stroll down the forest path. I never saw him again, but I know I will. He never lets anyone see him. He'll find me, then he'll find my family. They say everyone he meets disappears. That's why this is my last testament to the world. If I should die tonight I want the world to know why. I want the world to know his name. Malikk Kaa'. That's it calls itself right? He, it, I don't know anymore. I feel a chill. Not the kind that runs down your spine. The kind that you only feel when your time is up. When HE comes. He is here.
Goodbye."
This is the only testament we even have to the spirits existence. The wise man giving this statement was found hung in his cabin a week ago. They're calling it a suicide. Saying his "delusions of a death spirit drove him mad".
I think otherwise. I believe this "spirit" is responsible, as with the disappearances. This is his first claimed murder. We must stop this now before it becomes a widespread event. I suggest we call in the wizards of Harromir they will know what to do.
Your Servant,
Horros Albener.
