Personality

Tikaro is a simple person to talk to. He's very easy and outgoing, and he loves to be around others. It may be that the spirit within him, the one that give him his powers, also gives him his personality, but he's developed his own, separate quirks over the course of his life. At the moment, he's quite happy with the world, almost seeming naive at first, only to reveal a more primal side to his mind. He can be anywhere from boring and bland, like a gray ocean, to as bubbly and happy as the tropics, and even as far as vicious and bestial like a storm-whipped sea. To be as precise on his personality as possible, one would have to understand the emotions of the waters, each and every one of them.

Equipment

Image Tikaro has only one piece of actual equipment in the form of a sword. It is enchanted to morph as he does, becoming his spine when he's in wolf form and the tip of his tail when He's in dragon form. Aside from that, it is only enchanted with the element of water and also to not break, as it is made of crystal, not metal.

Forms:

Image Wolf Form- In this form, Tikaro becomes a wolf that can jump two stories easily, can run quickly enough to escape most natural predators, and can bite with enough force to break bones. He has no other weapons aside from those naturally occurring in his body. (aka nails and teeth)

Image Dragon Form- While in this form, Tikaro becomes able to fly and swim at incredible speeds. He can bite with enough force to bend and break most steels, should they be thin enough, and can simply throw himself around to break things made of wood or materials with less strength.

While in either dragon or wolf form, Tikaro can speak to others via a one-way mental communication. Although he has to open his mouth to use it, it can still be counted as a very weak form of telepathy.

History

There really isn't much of a history to be said for Tikaro. He was born sometime, long ago in the distant past. Before humans, that's certain. However, because he is only one part of a full being, he has constantly been reincarnated so the pieces might one day merge again. He has no knowledge of what he is, but he knows his powers and limitations. Every time he is reborn, he returns to the world, in an adult form of whatever he is born as. However, although he retains some basic memories from lives past, he has no memory of who he was or what he was before his current life.

So begins...

Far above the beach, where the air grew frigid and made clouds of ice instead of water, the Breath of the Ocean soared. His wings were stilled, scooping warm air to keep him aloft, yet he seemed almost asleep, so easy and slow were his movements. As the sun beat down upon his midnight blue scales, Tikaro was reminded of all the time he'd spent laying on beaches, soaking in the sunlight to warm himself. A lupine smile crossed his face before he opened his eyes and looked down on his home.

His surprise was more than usual when he saw the long, dark form of Ichiro sliding over the sands, though he didn't recognize the creature at first. With a wild bugle, he dove from on high, wings half-open and body straight as an arrow.

The great dragon veered slightly and flared his wings moments before impact, slowing enough not to break anything but still going fast enough to obscure his form behind a plume of sand. As the sand settled around him, he shifted himself into his human form, letting his wings and scales slide beneath a layer of flesh which, although confining, felt good enough to be worth it.

"Ichiro? You've grown."

The swarthy man scratched the back of his head a bit, then rolled his shoulders. As he did so, a darkly-tinted suit of armor, shaped to look incredibly like his draconic self, flowed across his body like water before solidifying into an obsidian-like surface. He immediately began to feel warmer as the dark armor absorbed the sun's heat.

"What with? It's been so long that I figured you may have already found a place to call your own, much as I call this beach and shoreline mine."

The older dragon's eyes, though human at sight, bespoke a solemnity that he rarely let show. Without so much as a whisper of speech, he reverted to his natural form and lay on the hot sand, then nodded for the one beside him to continue.

Claws dug into the sand as Tikaro clenched his muscles. The act that had occurred was one not lightly looked over by his kin, and had Ichiro not taken the hatchling as his own, it would have been either put to death or left to the wild to fend for itself. Neither resulted in something pretty.

"That depends, my friend. While I am glad you saved the hatchling from death and worse, she is not yours by any means, and once she realizes this, how will she think of you? Surely she will think of you as her father, but she'll become curious about her sire as well, I assure you. If you keep her from searching, she'll resent you, and if you let her search, you'll feel that you've lost her. I cannot say if you did right, but I can say that you'll have tough times ahead."

"So go with them next time. Stay with your bondmate, that you can protect her and keep those who would take her from doing so. I am only out here because I know that those I care for are safe among kin that I trust. Were I there and they here, I would search and find them, regardless of the distance, to make sure they were not losing what they held dear."

"Then grow stronger. No dragon should ever feel sorry for themself, and never should they feel weak. You are a dragon by blood. You can protect that which is yours, and to not do so is almost and insult to your kin." He grumbled a bit in his chest, then lifted his head, tongue flicking out to taste the scents on the wind.

It wasn't working. Tikaro was trying to get his friend angry, because anger could make one stronger. Unfortunately, it seemde that it would tougher than he thought.

"Then you must split yourself from Paul, tough as that might be. All creatures, humans included, must learn to fend for themselves, as they are naturally. Some have it easier than others, but without that test, how can you say you are who you are? Without that test, you may never know who you are to begin with."

Tikaro also growled, though his was more satisfaction than anything. Perhaps he was getting through his friend's thick skull, even if it had taken longer than he'd expected. Now came the learning bit.

"Ichiro, it is possible. Soul-splitting, while difficult, is completely possible. You simply have to find the right being to do it for you. Or do it to you, depending on how it's done. Plus, I suspect that you'll feel much different after it happens. Thing is, you simply have to make it happen. If you don't, what will your kin say? What will your wife say? I know what they'll say. They'll be ashamed to call you kin and a dragon."

Tikaro grinned, closed his eyes, and then snapped his neck backward, causing Ichiro's narrow claws to grate and slide across the larger dragon's smooth scales. He reared back and then stood, his bulk shifting gently as he moved. he spread his wings and then stepped to the side a dozen or so feet.

"And what would you do to me? Would you fight one who, just moments before, you said you could not stand against? Would you learn to be strong, strong enough to protect that which you loved and knew as truth?" He chuckled slightly, then paced in a half circle, letting his wings flare fully to block out the sun's light.

"I am not lying. Even the smallest and meanest beast might best a dragon. I'm simply trying to teach you to become stronger by virtue of having you learn to get angry. You think too lowly of yourself, and it ill becomes you. You are a dragon, one of the fiercest and most dangerous beings ever to be produced by Nature's womb. Humans and ilk among them tremble before the raw power given to us, and only through technology have they found ways to best our kin. Be proud of what you are, and prove that you are the best of your kin because without being the best, no dragon will think anything of you."

Tikaro spread his legs wider apart, then lowered himself, tail whipping through the air with low thuds at each pass. The fight would be between dragon and humanoid, would it? That would be plenty cliche, but perhaps he could get his friend to learn what it meant to be who he was.

"You wish to fight, so be it. However, while a Drake may not be a Dragon, you might still show to your bondmate's kin that you are worthy of her and that not a one of them should chase after her as you once did." With that, he sprayed a tongue of aqua-blue flame against the sand by his feet, liquifying it to glass in mere instants.

As the bolt of energy crackled and spat through the air towards him, Tikaro folded his wing tight to his side, the evening sun flaring up from behind where his wing had hidden it. He watched with his sapphire-blue eyes as Ichiro launched at him, blade humming. With hardly a moment of hesitation, Tikaro spun, his tail whipping in from behind him, aimed to smack solidly into Ichiro as he got close.

With a primal roar, Tikaro continued to spin before flaring his wings again. He grunted once then began to run down the beach, wings half open before he leaped into the sky. With heavy wingbeats, the midnight-blue dragon took flight, heaving himself and the longer, thinner Ichiro into the air.

Good, he's finally going to try. he thought as their combined bulk pushed through the humid sea air. He swiveled around to try and latch his jaws onto Ichiro, but just barely missed the tip of the drake's tail.

The extra force on his tail caused Tikaro to dip wildly in the air, but he only took a few grazing hits from Ichiro's tail spikes. He roared deep in his chest and then thrashed his tail about, sending them into a sudden descent that, if neither corrected it, would lead to them crashing into the sand below.

Tikaro, now free, pinned his wings tighter to his sides as he heard the crackle of energy behind him. He raced the ball of heat and light but, after realizing that it would catch him long before he made the water's of the Solinus Sea, was forced to roll to the side and have it sail past, missing him by inches. Snapping open his wings, he pulled up and back, making certain to avoid the ground as his claws clipped the crests of the incoming waves. With a bugle, he continued pulling upward, relaunching into the sky.

Good. He makes a fighter yet. Maybe he'll learn that he can take care of his bondmate. He let loose a tongue of flame, then climbed higher, aiming to snag Ichiro's tail within his jaws.

As Ichiro began to coil around his neck, the midnight-blue dragon growled and clenched the muscles beneath his scales. He'd felt the pressure around his neck before, and he had yet to find someone who had managed the feat to choke him. As the coils wound more around his neck, Tikaro reached down and bit into the softer scales of the Drake's body. Had Ichiro truly been a dragon, Tikaro's fangs might not have sunk in, but as things were, they bit in deep enough to get a grip.

As Ichiro's form shifted, Tikaro opened his jaws and twisted, trying to catch the hybrid in his arms. It wasn't often that he got to engage in combat, and he was rusty, so his claws missed. With a grunt, he felt the thick arm wrapping around his neck. So, a rider, eh? He could deal with this.

Once he knew Ichiro had a hold, Tikaro dove towards the sea, aiming to meet his home with a visitor on board, rather than alone.

Tikaro's scales protected him from most of the scratches, but as Ichiro's tail needled his wings, he couldn't help but roar in pain. He dove through the waves, knifing into them as though it were nothing more than a sheet of paper. Although he half-expected the impact to pull his friend off, there was a part of him that knew he might very stay on.
