Distinguishing Features: "Besides my handsome face? I guess my eyes count."
Sprouse's eyes glow an ethereal blue.

Costume/Equipment: "I wear my suit, day in and day out."
As seen in the picture above.

Motto/Catch Phrase: "Shock and awed!"

Personality: "So ya wanna hear a bit about me, eh? I guess I've got time to spare."

Sprouse is typically seen as cocky, sarcastic and immature, throwing off jokes and wisecracks at a moments notice without delay, even in the face of great danger. He is very outgoing and can make friends almost instantly with his cool tone and warm smile. But at the same time, Sprouse isn't the definition of good anymore - he was a criminal, and now he's reluctant to accept this role as a superhero, so he'll actually get flustered if you point out a good deed he did. Even still, he enjoys such gratitude deep down.....while he's stealing something of yours. Even in Titan Tower, it feels strange to him not to steal, and he might take things temporarily to sate this feeling.

Evans doesn't look for a fight, but is not afraid to get into one, and can easily be provoked if someone knows the right buttons to press. His long time alone has left some of his manners to be retaught, so eating with him or other activities may not be as enjoyable as some would like. He naturally likes to hang out somewhere away from 'traffic' when he wants to be alone, but can also be seen around anyone else, socializing (or attempting to).

Likes: "It takes a sense of humor, games and pizza to entertain me. I'm a simple man."

Jokes - Sprouse loves to laugh, and to cause people to laugh. Most people who have a sense of humor, he likes almost instantly.

Lightning/Electricity - This element is just as important to Sprouse as air or water is. Since he cannot live without it, he learned to love it. Besides, when he gets shocked by something else, it only gives him more energy.

Pizza - His favorite food, so there's not much to be said. He enjoys a simple pepporoni pizza more than any others. Garlic sauce and wings would make his day too.

Video Games - Nothing more fun than relaxing while you slaughter a townful of innocent civilians....in a game, of course. Racing games, fighting games, shooting games; Sprouse loves them all, except sports games. And he can be really competitive.

Calm - When there's not much noise, no fighting, no arguing, Sprouse will enjoy a nice nap. Probably the best thing for him after a fight, though sometimes he's too riled up to be calm.

Victory - Who doesn't like winning? Since he's competitive, it's only natural that he likes winning, whether that be in a fight or a video game.

Monkeys - Sprouse's favorite animal. They climb on trees, look awesome, and throw poop at people they don't like, which makes Evans laugh.

Rock/Metal music - His favorite genre. Evans loves all kinds of metal, such as older bands or newer. Not the kind that it just blatant screaming nobody can understand.

Stealing - It just became fun after a while. He likes to steal more important things, and then give them back without being caught. It's like a game to him. Except edible items - those don't come back.

Dislikes: "I prefer to stay happy, so these things I'm about to tell you about you should remember... and avoid."

Death - The end of life is never a joyous thing. He hates to see death, and hates the people that cause it without proper reason. Sprouse isn't a complete pacifist, but he usually restrains himself from using lethal bolts if he can.

Criminals - What is it with people? Why can't they abide by laws? Sure, maybe a petty thief isn't so bad, but murderers, rapists, and burgalers? There's no reason to just kill someone, and therefore, there's reason to stop them.

Soccer - Honestly, he doesn't like sports in general, but out of all of them, this one just doesn't appeal to him in the slightest. Hates how a lot of the players feign injury.

Being Ignored - While he doesn't always have to be the center of attention (though he doesn't mind that either), he can't stand it when people ignore him. His voice will only get louder and louder each time he has to repeat himself.

Vegetables - He doesn't not eat them, just he prefers meat over greens anytime. Steak or salad? Pfft, as if it's even a choice.

Being caught stealing - If he's been caught, it means he made a mistake, and still needs to improve.... and there's always that awkward moment when you have to apologize too.

Fears: "I'll pass again, but that's because I fear nothing."

Water - Ever since he received his powers from the mysterious space rock, he has been unable to swim. The first time he tried after the event, he received shocks that were painful all around him, and started losing consciousness. He managed to make it out, but he never wants to try to swim again.

Unintended Harm - Evans has always wanted to be a hero. Heroes don't harm innocents, or the people they love. He never, ever wants to see pain caused by him be inflicted on someone he generally likes.

Weaknesses: "For some reason, I think I'll pass on telling you that..."

Water:
Sprouse cannot swim, or he'll risk shorting out and fainting, then subsequently drowning. Though taking a bath or a shower doesn't seem to cause pain, if he were to fall into a pool, he would need to be saved himself.

Blackouts:
Actually, this refers to any place where there isn't electricity immediately nearby. Sprouse, being sensative and dependent on such a utility, needs to recharge every now and then, and if unable to, he'll grow weak. Another problem with this, is that areas like that (such as the woods) where no electricity is present, he'll develop headaches.

- Any EMP-like effect will also stun him.

Priorities:
Sprouse wants to find out what happened to that magical spacerock that killed his family, changed his life, and disappeared from any newpaper or shows in the world so much that upon finding a lead about the rock, he'll venture off without second thought, regardless of what others might say. The worst thing is - he doesn't tell others anything about how his parents died, so nobody would really know what he's looking for.

Theme Song:

The Time has Come from Devil May Cry 4 Original Soundtrack

The time has come and so have I
I'll laugh last cause you came to die
The damage done, the pain subsides
and I can see the fear clear when I look in your eye

I'll never kneel and I'll never rest,
you can tear the heart from my chest
I'll make you see what I do best
I'll also see that you breathe your very last breath

Now I know how the angel fell
I know the tale and I know it too well
I'll make you wish you had a soul to sell,
when I strike you down straight to hell

My army comes from deep within,
beneath my soul, beneath my skin
That's your ending I'm about to begin,
my strength is pain and I'll never give in

I'll tell you now, I'm one to survive
You'll never break my faith or my stride
I'll have you choke on your own demise
I'll make the angel scream and the devil cry

Species: "I'm a monkey, what do you think?"
Human

Powers: "Need I remind you? Guess my puns weren't obvious enough."

Electromastery - Sprouse has a deep connection with Electricity and Lightning, able to harness and manipulate it as he wills. This takes many forms, all of which I've stolen from the game Infamous revolve around the element, such as bolts escaping from his hands, jolting objects he comes into physical contact with, and stealing or giving electrical energy to something he touches. These abilities either increase or decrease in power depending on whether or not he's recharged lately. It should be noted that this gives him an immunity to any electrical-based attacks.

Static-Stepping - Evans has not yet mastered this ability to its fullest potential, but the basis is that he loses physical form for a brief period and may move around as a bolt of lightning. Because he cannot sustain this form for longer than a second or two at most (currently), it's really only used to dash around - his main means of transportation, since he can easily use it in succession without much problem.

Magnetism - Though not to an insanely heavy degree, objects made from metal may be attracted or repelled form Sprouse. Again, he has not entirely mastered this ability, but he has trained himself to use it to a better degree. It's used mainly to deflect bullets or other projectiles, which has kept him alive for a while.

Skills: "I don't need powers to beat up most of the trash that runs around on the streets."

Tae-Kwon-Do - A martial art which places high emphasis on kicking. Sprouse learned it when he was younger, and managed to earn a blackbelt.

Parkour - Another martial art. It is used to scale buildings or obstacles without the use of his powers, though easily able to be mixed in with his static-stepping. He taught himself during his days as a street-rat.

Pickpocketing - If there's something in your pocket and Sprouse wants it, try not be surprised that he'll have it in his hands, even if you're interacting with him. The years that he has lived off of stealing has perfected this to an art. Not to mention that if it's made of metal, he can use his ability to move it without touching it.

Arch Nemesis: "None.... yet."
None, at the moment.

Family: "...Lets talk about something else, shall we?"
Mother and father are deceased.

History: "More about me? I've been a superhero since a while. There. That's all you're gettin'."

Sprouse had been a simple child who wore his bright outlook on life on his face. The definition of kindness, Sprouse loved to make people smile and laugh and had a clean record - even as a toddler. His parents adored the child they bore, and he loved them with all of his small heart.

In academics, he was average, never really sticking out. His shining trait was always a warm smile which many would compare to the sun in brilliance. It would only get brighter when he told people what he wanted to be when he grew up:

A superhero.

It was cute for the first few years of his life, but as he grew, he never discarded the idea like many people did growing up. He admired the Teen Titans, back when they were a thing. Their bravery, and how they could save anyone always inspired him - a normal boy with no powers. He would soon get over that when he entered his teenage years. Such things were meaningless for those without any way to protect someone. He opted to at least learn basic martial arts to protect himself. There was no way he would be as good as Robin.

And then something terrible happened.

Something not of this Earth fell from space. It was a rock, glowing a light-blue and sparking with a divine-like lightning. There was something strange about this rock. Strange and powerful. But falling is not all it did.

No, if only.

It crashed.

Crashed right into a populated supermarket, and obliterated everyone inside, with the sole exception of Sprouse. All those men, woman, children..... and his parents had all died within a bright flash of blue, leaving ashes in their wake. But him? No, he was thrown viciously from the site like a ragdoll, and would not awake with any memory of who he was or where he was for the next two months. For two months he was nameless. Just a person who suffered head-splitting headaches and knew no friends nor family, or who he himself was. He does not remember how he survived for that long. He just did. And when he finally regained his memories of the kind, young man he was, he had no use for those memories.

Now he was a 'street rat' as many called him. His home was an abandoned shack closer to the edge of the city, which he eventually made bearable by all the things he had 'liberated' from stores and such. He didn't turn evil, it's just that he needed to survive, but had no money or job to do so, so stealing became something he thrived on. Convenience stores and pockets were his ripest and most often picks, so he was never wanted for an outrageous crime, like robbing a bank or something, and there was still good in him; he made it a point not to harm anyone seriously, especially innocents who couldn't do anything to harm him in the first place.

Soon his powers began to develop, aiding him in his ventures. It used to be all he could do to power up a simple lightbulb by touch, but now he could do so without effort, nor physical contact. He grew in power and soon, grew in taste. But the good, young man was still inside of him somewhere that prevented him from stealing from the poor or the innocent, so he turned his eyes on criminals. They wouldn't need anything, and he had no family left to threaten. Obviously, said crimelord was... unhappy at losing items that belonged to him, and a 'war' between him and the lord raged, out of the public's eye. But, surprisingly, with the use of his powers, Sprouse caught the man and turned him in, staying no longer than to ensure the man's arrest before leaving the scenes.

Though at this point, he thought himself to only be a petty criminal, whether he knew it or not, the fact he continued doing events similar to this had made his old dream come true; the orphan who had been surviving on the streets for years finally became that which he wanted to most -

A superhero.

Other: "Lets get this show on the road and go, Titans!"

So begins...

"The wall isn't our enemy..." Sprouse said, sarcasm dripping from his word and Melanie huffed slightly, rolling her eyes at his words. But instead of replying she took a glance around the room, survaying the situation. The girl who had been attacking moments ago seem to have all but vanished, though that didn't make any sense. Melanie had caught a trace of her heat signature, but couldn't detect her anymore.

It was almost as if she'd just melted into... the...

Shadows!

Melanie switched her vision again to trace the light waves in the room and, sure enough, there were traces of disturbances between the waves, meaning that somehow the girl had managed to interrupt them. And possibly even control them. Her mind reeled at this realization. She didn't know exactly how the girl could do it, but she must have created a doupleganger out of the shadows. That would explain how the thing vanished.

'But wait! If she can control shadows, then that means-' Melanie whirled around but it was too late. She felt her body stiffen and felt a surge of panic run through her circuits. This was bad. Very bad.

As her body became to move on it's own, Melanie realized she was heading straight for (abeit slowly) for Sprouse. 'Then she intends to make me fight him!' Melanie concluded in discust, 'But at least it seems like she only has possession of my movements, not my actual body. Otherwise it would be a lot more dangerous than the situation already is.'

"Had enough fun ramming into walls? You shouldn't hurt your pretty face like that, or you'll have no date for the proms." Sprouse chuckled, blissfuly unaware of what was actually going on as Melanie shambled towards him. 'Not exactly my main concern,' Melanie thought, but held her tounge, instead saying, "Sprouse, this isn't a joke! She has control of my shadow! I'm not entirely sure how she does it but she can take over you shadow and control your movements with it!"

Melanie tried to fight her movements but she didn't have any control over her motions. Thinking quickly she developed a plan, but it would only work if her companion could bring himself to comply. "Listen, Sprouse, I know this is going to sound crazy but I need you to trust me." Seeing his confused looked Melanie took a deep breath, then looked at him, extremely serious. "I need you to break my neck."

"Sprouse, this isn't a joke! She has control of my shadow! I'm not entirely sure how she does it but she can take over you shadow and control your movements with it!"

Giving a small nod and closing his eyes briefly, Sprouse said, with a heavy lack of any seriousness in his voice, "You know, there's better excuses to give if you're trying to get close to me." He then opened them, grinning like usual, unaware and unbelieving of the situation. It seemed he thought she was just trying to play a joke on him, because magic involving shadows was only something Shikamaru Raven was really ever capable, or so he thought. So, he was NOT taking this seriously, which was probably (actually) fairly foolish of him.

Her next words only further 'proved his point'.

"Listen, Sprouse, I know this is going to sound crazy but I need you to trust me." Sprouse raised an eyebrow. 'If she asks me to kiss her...' "I need you to break my neck." she asked of him with not a slip of the lip or anything to show she wasn't serious. It was odd.

wat...Did NOT see that one coming. Touche, Melanie. Touche.

"What?" he suddenly dropped his smile. "You know, you're taking this a little too far. We got shit to do, come on and stop it."

I’m getting really sick of your shit, Stamina. REALLY GOD DAMN SICK!

Aura let out a groan. The world was blurring together, to form a pallet of colors and blobs. Every once in a while, things would focus back together, and Aura thought her strength was building back up. Then she was plunged back into Swirlylandia. Aura raised her shaking hands to her eyes and rubbed them repeatedly, but to no avail. “God damnit!” She cursed loudly slamming her fists down in frustration. She was so fatigued. So tired. So… hungry. “Just if I hadn’t skipped lunch yesterday!” She grumbled. She hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast yesterday. Her sudden hunger crashed into her like a train. The shaking of her hands spread to her arms then the rest of her body, until she was shivering violently. Aura’s consciousness was slipping away again.

“N,n,n,n,n,n,oooooo. You are walking away from this one Missy. Get your lazy ass off the ground and get going!” Now she was talking to herself. Bad sign. So, Aura started to push herself upwards with her hands, her legs slowly unfolding from beneath her body. She managed to stand up, but the king of Swirlylandia was a persistent little bugger. Every time she moved her head, it was like looking through a kaleidoscope. The colors and patterns moved around, changing constantly. One hand remained on the wall to give her balance. Aura lifted her foot, and took a tentative step. Her knee buckled and Aura stumbled forwards, only to land flat on her stomach. Aura managed to wiggle back into a sitting position. “Seriously!?” Her breathing quickened and she looked around again, everything was still kaleidoscope-y.

"I need you to break my neck." Aura’s head snapped up as she heard Melanie say this. The first word that came into her head was Defuq?

"You know, you're taking this a little too far. We got shit to do, come on and stop it." Something was going on with Melanie. She had lost control of her movements. Aura narrowed her eyes, naming blob one Melanie, and blob two Sprouse, whom she had asked to break her neck.

“She’s not kidding! Just do something to her so I can go get a fucking sandwich!” Aura blinked for a moment. Did I just say that..?

At the moment, Pulse found himself all tied up.

He was lying on the ground, struggling to free himself from his bonds after being knocked down, and falling down to his new level. \ While rolling around in the rubble, the rest of the Titans had put up a good fight, Aura had burned some rather important looking documents, a freaky fish lady had appeared, and the gang was busy fighting shadows and punching walls.

All the while he futilely picked away at the cord holding him back. Then, he realized that didn't matter. He didn't need his hands.

He say upright, and jumped to his feet. His three Didgeridoos circled him, then as two flipped to his back, the third one came to up to his face. His first order of business was to regroup, then attack from there. Next on the list was going to be long range bombardment. Large Area of effect, large blast. What he heard next was rather confusing though.

"I need you to break my neck."

Wow, earth culture was weird, but she didn't seem to be any more normal than the rest of them. What could possibly go wrong. Aura, didn't have a face that agreed with the idea on either.

"You know, you're taking this a little too far. We got shit to do, come on and stop it." What were they talking about, and if it was a good idea, why were they hesitating?

"Enough of you're tales mateys, NOW IS THE TIME, FOR ACTION!"
Pulse propelled himself towards Melanie, his hands reaching for her head as he had his face to the sky. When his hands hit her head, he latched on, turned his face, and spun, the satisfying snap had done the deed, hopefully not to well. A drawback was that he spun past her, flying like a boomerang, and straight into the wall. Again, he was on the ground, just a little more hurt this time.

"Could ye be a dear an' free me from these here hellish binds anybody?"

Alice

Her face behind the mask was that of some surprise at what the girl said next. she’s pretty smart for a kid. She caught on pretty quick- she hadn’t expected her to do such a thing. An earsplitting headache came into fruition and it hurt like hell.

Holding her head in her hands, Alice let go of Melanie’s shadow but not without fulfilling one last thing before she was truly forced to do. She pulled her hands back hard, as if throwing an object and in turn Melanie was shoved forwards by an invisible force right at Sprouse if he didn’t get out of the way.

Alice let out a growl and glared at the Titans, she entered a different shadow but she was barely conscious at this point. The fact that she had control and was in the shadow made the pain all the more worse. Had she only been controlling it from a far and not from within it wouldn’t have been like this.

that’s what I get for underestimating them. Damn kids, better than I would have thought but that girl something’s not right about her. There’s no way she could have concluded such a thing without already knowing how things worked*hint*hint* especially considering we’ve never even met before. Alice trudged along her shadow dimension, the place was crumbling like it always was. And it was a mild comfort to be somewhere else and not in a person’s shadow

Melanie felt the sudden and uncomfortable twist in her neck as Pulse twisted her head around 180 degrees. There was a loud snap like the snap of a bone breaking (though it reality it was metal displacing with her "neck") and for a moment she was forced to stand like that in shock. Then suddenly it felt like the invisible strings had disattached and Melanie was pushed forward towards Sprouse. However, before she tackled him she manained to catch herself and landed instead on her knees.

Still staring at the wall behind her Melanie carefully took her head in her hands and twisted it, jerking it so the metal snapped back into place. Head back in it's place, Melanie rolled her head a little, relaxing again as the pressure was relieved. "Much obliged," she said, nodding at Pulse as she went over and cut the cords from around his wrists.

That done she turned to the rest of her team. "Now, all of you, get out of here! This place is about to go up in smoke!" Melanie cried, making a slashing motion with her arm. "Sprouse, get Aurora; I don't think she can walk on her own for the moment." Then, turning her back to her team she whipped out the device. 'The bombs are set to go off in two minutes...' glancing at her team mates as they scrambled to escape her eyes turned to Krotos.

If she left him here, he and his twisted sense of justice would be stopped. Permanently. But, looking at the boy, Melanie felt something inside of her settle into place which she hadn't registered before. Yes it would be easy to leave him here to die and not have to worry about trouble from him anymore but... that wasn't what a hero did. No matter how evil a villain was, she couldn't bring herself to simply let them die when she knew there was a way to save them. Reguardless of whether it meant having to face them again in the future.

Glancing at her wrist she could see the countdown.

One minute and thirty nine seconds until detonation.

Melanie lunged at Krotos.

His red eyes widened as he sensed her aura closer then it did a second before. 'She's fast..' A little fear creeped up on his spine but a small smiled pulled at his lips. His eyes gleamed with interest.

"I guess I'll take a chance.." Leaping down towards the battle, his shadows stretched to the walls. He turned to all of them, The good guys. Titans or they called themselves. They were strong, but he didnt say anything but stare. Slowly, he stretched himself into a shadow and started off once again. Where was that "alice."

He wanted to see her. Not only for any reason, but because she intrigued him. She was similar to him, and even if this "alice" was a "bad guy" it had its benefits..

Though as he treaded through the darkness, watching citizens pass by oblivious of his existence, he was curious. Were these titans more beneficial.. Or this shadow user. Oh it gave him a headache.. Slipping up the walls, he stopped at a balcony and the darkness formed him. His red eyes reappeared and he leaned against the railing.

With a bit of mirth, he sighed. He had no idea who he really was or what he was.. His only hope would be the titans..or that alice..

There was not really much time to argue with Melon-E Melanie. Not because he believed it to be a great course of action; snapping her neck, but because he didn't get the chance to. He could only really remember Aurora agreeing with the batshit crazy plan, as well as Pulse, when he....

Killed her.

An uncharacteristically horrified look appeared briefly on Sprouse's face the moment he saw her head twist to a degree it was not meant to. He saw her murdered right in front of him, and was stunned - she was his friend, wasn't she? And he was right there and did nothing to stop it.

Just like mom and dad....

But, then she moved towards him almost like a lunge. He stepped back in pure reflex, though she stopped herself and fell to her knees, then twisting her neck back like a zombie might in a horror movie. It was.... strange, unreal. What was her ability? She stood up, THANKING Pulse for breaking her neck, then taking command of the situation and ordering the rest to flee, while ordering him to go save Aurora. Sighing, he complied, but not before thinking, "Well that's the last time I worry about you assholes. Jeez, I'm probably the only one who would die from that, if they're all so eager to break necks".

The quest to find his downed teammate was not a difficult one. She was, after all, leaning against an nearby wall, and had only recently complained about being famished, or the sort. Sprouse hurriedly moved over to her, crouching down and smiling to her. "Hey, you ready to go? I'm sure you can pig out all you want when we get back to the tower!" he explained, offering her a hand. He was going to carry her. "Unless, of course, you like hanging out with a doomed building. Getting crushed doesn't sound too appealing to me, but I'm not you..."

Krótos slammed into the new kid as hard as he possibly could. His arm extended, his lariat caught the man in a clothesline and drove him to the ground. His eyes rolled back in his head for a moment and he passed out. Krótos sighed and took the opportunity to toss one of his net balls at him. Sure enough, it bound his midsection up like a hand rolled burrito while still being roomy enough to breathe. Satisfied with his handiwork on that particular gadget, Krótos bent down for a moment, inspecting the kid. His body was stange. It was very sturdy, but felt... patchwork... at best. While his body was laced with seamless integrations of strange technology, it felt unwieldy. Krótos only chuckled. Who was he to question the stability of someone's body, after all, outside of his little sphere Ryan was blind to the whole world. Regardless, Krótos turned to face the group of fighters, but the sounds of their scuffle were obvious. It was at least three on one, and that was hardly fair, even if the opponent in question was as good as she was. From what Krótos could tell of her body when they'd locked for a split second, she was built well and her movements had very little extraneous movements in them. Krótos only sighed, it was his party but that newcomer with the staff had crashed it. Krótos walked over to some rubble and sat for a moment. Something wasn't right. He was the good guy here. He was the one on the side of justice, so why was there this... insecurity. Was he... wrong?

'We defend this place because there is still hope... If there is even a single person in this Jump City who is good, then it is worth saving... It is the hope that we bring that will cleanse this city, not fear... Love, guidance and protection will strengthen the good and clear out the corruption you speak of... More hatred will only bring more evil, and it is why the corruption remains... more hatred will only bring more evil... more hatred... more evil... You're unsatisfied...' That android's voice echoed through his head. Resulting in a single, unshakeable truth. 'She's right...' Krótos thought to himself. 'What happened to me? All these years, all my life, wasted for some cheap revenge? That's not what my family, my friends, the ones who were most precious to me would want.' Ryan thought hard, puzzling over where he went wrong, what he could have done differently. He couldn't come up with anything. Where had he gone so wrong? Killing innocent civilians? Isn't that what he hated more than anything? Didn't that make him who he was trying to defeat all these years?

Suddenly, there was an incredible disturbance in the ground. It felt like something was... wriggling. Krótos slammed his hand against the ground, forming vibrations that would tell him the state of things. Something was attached to his bombs, the one's he'd fitted with anti-tampering software. 'What the hell? Is it the android? That idiot! She's only making it worse. I have to stop it.' Standing and stowing his weapons as quickly as he could, Krótos stood and punched his way through the ground. It took a few strikes at first, but as he absorbed more and more impacts, his punches struck harder and harder. Finally he was through, and into the deep basement of the courthouse. Using what little time he had left, Krótos bounced around the hallways and pillars of the catacombs, collecting his six bombs and returning to the surface. However, just as he reached the courtroom, he heard a very odd conversation as he piled the bombs in a neat little pyramid.

"I need you to break my neck." The android's voice. An odd request but hardly life threatening.

"You know, you're taking this a little too far. We got shit to do, come on and stop it." Another voice, the second one that had appeared. He was rightly nervous, but he shouldn't have worried.

"Enough of your tales mateys. NOW IS THE TIME FOR ACTION!" The fourth voice which had mistaken him for a woman and had been tied up recently, he must have woken up. His voice was followed by, what sounded like some sort of horn. It was loud, and slightly garish, but there was a strange beauty to its tone. Ryan had no idea how he was playing it without any hands though, as Krótos had bound them. That sound was followed once again by the boy's voice, "Could ye be a dear an' free me from these here hellish binds anybody?" The whole proceeding was strange, but weirder things had happened to Krótos before. Finally, the situation was coming to a close, and Krótos heard the android girl from before square up with him. Without warning, she charged. As she approached, Krótos raised his hands in an odd posture, one that seemed to say, "Wait! Let's just talk this out." However, she didn't seem to care and attacked Ryan. Sidestepping her was an easy matter, as well as deflecting her attacks so she wouldn't hurt herself. At that, Krótos took another quick leap and landed directly behind the small pile of bombs. "Stop! Just wait a second and listen to me. I need you all to get out of here. I know this is an odd request, but please, just leave. My powers are... very well suited for what's about to happen in thirty seconds." Krótos said, motioning to the small pile of bombs. "Evacuate everyone. I'm going to attempt to stop the explosion. If I live, you can take me in. A lifetime of repentance will serve me well. If not... at least no one else will get hurt. Please. I need you to trust me." Krótos said earnestly, looking directly at where he could feel the android was standing. Slowly, he reached up and took off his mask, revealing his handsome, though scarred face as well as his long hair and blinded eyes. He smiled, barely enough of a curl forming to turn up his lip, but it was there. "Please. Get out of here." Krótos pleaded.

As soon as she left, and everyone else was gone, Krótos replaced his mask and knelt down, placing his hands over the bombs. "Let's hope this works." Krótos said to himself. Krótos channelled every scrap, every ounce of power into his hands. Explosions were, after all, just a really big set of impacts gone horribly wrong. Maybe, just maybe, he could consolidate all that energy and force, and release it in a safe manner, as outright stopping it would be impossible... The hole in the ceiling! A perfect outlet! In a split second, Krótos pointed his left hand up into the sky, palm facing the heavens. Krótos was going to use his whole body as a tube and direct the blast out the hole in the ceiling. With seconds on the clock, Krótos closed his eyes and hoped for the best.

Outside, everything was quiet. Suddenly, a massive skyward pillar of flame, light, sound, and force erupted from the courthouse. The raw destructive might of six large explosives was channeled successfully inward and upward and was released without anymore structural damage to the building. Inside, an exhausted Krótos lay on the floor and covered in soot. He was completely drained, and just keeping his eyes open was hard, but he'd done it. Krótos had saved them all.

As she approached, Krótos raised his hands in defense as Melanie darted towards him and she hesitated, allowing him to stepside her attack. She whirled around and continued to attack, intent on knocking him out without hurting him so she could safely get him out of the building, but for some reason though he blocked her attacks he didn't seem to want to inflict harm either. As Melanie processed this, trying to understand his motives he made a quick leap and landed directly behind the small pile of bombs.

"Stop! Just wait a second and listen to me. I need you all to get out of here. I know this is an odd request, but please, just leave. My powers are... very well suited for what's about to happen in thirty seconds." Krótos said urgently, motioning to the small pile of bombs.

Melanie narrowed her eyes, not in hatred but with a sense of urgency. The timer on her arm was still tick tick ticking away and every small beep made her heart pound. "Krótos, don't be so riduculous! If these bombs go off they'll take out anyone remaining in the building, yourself included!" She moved to tackle him again but something about his earnest expression made her stop."Evacuate everyone. I'm going to attempt to stop the explosion." he said with an odd sense of finality that made Melanie take a slow step back and clentch her fists. "And if you can't stop the explosion? Then what?"

"If I live, you can take me in. A lifetime of repentance will serve me well. If not... at least no one else will get hurt. Please. I need you to trust me." Krótos said earnestly, looking directly into Melanie's golden eyes, causing a small tremor to run through her body. Slowly, he reached up and took off his mask, revealing his handsome, though scarred face as well as his long hair as well as, she realized, blind eyes. He smiled, barely enough of a curl forming to turn up his lip, but it was there and it caused her to shake from the purity of it.

"Please. Get out of here." Krótos said softly. Melanie hestitated for just a moment as the timer slowly ticked down before she clentched her fists and pointed at him, her gold eyes narrowed, her arm shaking uncharacteristically.

"You'd better made it out of this alive... Ryan."

And with that, Melanie turned her back to him and escaped the building. She rejoined her team who was standing a short distance away, Aurora supported by Sprouse and the two of them standing beside Pulse. She couldn't bring herself to make eye contact with them and instead stood infront of them, placing herself between them and the building. She didn't need to look down at the timer.

5...4...3...2...1.....

The quiet of the empty street was shattered by the sound of an explosion and suddenly, a massive skyward pillar of flame, light, sound, and force erupted from the courthouse. The explosion seared a hole through the ceilding and roof of the building and dispearsed safely into the sky. As the heat and light faded along with the echo, everything seemed to become still and Melanie felt she was stuck in slow motion. Painstakingly slowly she placed one foot infront of the other, her steps becoming faster and faster until she was running full on towards the courthouse.

Sprinting down the stairs she came to the room which she'd left Krótos and scanned the burned room for a heat signature. Her human heart gave a small lurch of relief when she found an exhausted, but very much alive Krótos laying on the floor. Speaking into her communicator device she said, "Good work Titans. Make your way back to the tower; I'll meet you guys there." before flipping the device closed. Slowly she walked up to Krótos, kneeling beside the soot covered boy. Seeing him in this disheveled state, still breathing, still alive, she couldn't help a small giggle.

Gently, ever so carefully, Melanie picked him up. As she spoke her voice was gentle and she was filled with a strange sense of relief. "Welcome to the team, Ryan O'Connell."

The Night Watcher watched what appeared to be signs of struggle inside the courthouse, there was clearly a battle going on inside. "Finally, I was wondering when this punk was gonna start defending himself, now if he would just blow the shit up, I can do what I came to do." The battle goes on for a few minutes, and then he sees the five people he watched enter individually earlier, leave as a group. As the group exited the police backed away form the building. "Finally it's gonna blow!" The Night Watcher thought preparing himself to manipulate the debris. Suddenly a pillar of fire erupted straight up out of the building creating a perfect circular hole about 6 feet in diameter. "DAMMIT! That's almost no debris." The Night Watcher said to himself as he took a deep breath. Outstretched his hand towards the debris and closed his eyes. The pillar of soot that was created when the material from the roof was vaporized by the heat of the explosion, moved abnormally following his command and stopped creating a cloud above ten officers, he was hoping to take care of at least thirty five today, but ya work with what ya got. He picked this particular group because even though there were larger groups, the Chief of Police was with this group, and The Night Watcher wanted him dead more than any other corrupt cop. He took another deep breath, this time holding it, his hand, which was at this point palm out towards the cloud, moved, his fingers now pointing downward at the police officers. The cloud lowered to them, particles of soot being forced into their lungs. For good measure The Night Watcher took his other hand waved a cross the scene slowly palm out towards the group of officers. This served to remove a some of the oxygen from the area, anyone who wasn't already choking would have only felt a little light headed but for the unfortunate ten that were targeted by The Night Watcher, they began to suffocate, the soot coated the alveoli in their lungs, blocking them from absorbing oxygen, unfortunately he could not coat them entirely, but the decreased oxygen in the atmosphere meant that their damaged lungs could not absorb enough oxygen. After a few minutes they all fell to the ground, clutching their throats, the paramedics on site tried and tried but could do nothing, the air they tried to pump into their lungs was resisted, but they couldn't find the blockages. The ten officers died, suffocated by the explosion in the courthouse.

The Night Watcher exhaled slowly and reached down to his PDA turning on the news channel. Larry Jenkins's face yet again appeared on the device "We have some breaking news from the courthouse. Only moments ago five teenagers left the building with Judge Ramirez and handed him over the Chief of police, with evidence of the Judge's misdeeds. The judge was then taken to an ambulance and treated for minor wounds. Then out of no where - " The scene cuts to an image of the courthouse with a whole in the roof. "An explosion. All of the force was directed straight up creating a magnificent pillar of fire." The shot returns to Larry Jenkins. "The smoke hung in the air for a moment and then it moved, as if by magic over a group of police officers, before descending down on them. I regret to inform you that ten officers, including the Chief of Police, died tonight in the explosion, as a result of the strange movements of the debris. At the moment we have no information on how it happened, or who these five teenagers are." The Night Watcher smiled as he switched off the device and smiled, Didn't get them all, but I can make this work. He thought to himself as he ran from roof top to roof top on his way back to his observatory.

Upon arriving he knew he needed to take credit for the Chief's death, so he records a voice message, using voice altering technology to keep his identity hidden, "I am the Night Watcher, I killed those police officer's and the Chief because they are a virus plaguing my city. The police are corrupt, the justice system is fucked up, and the criminals are taking advantage of it. No one here is safe, the ordinary person is left to fend for themselves, most of them are forced into working for the criminals or dying. Prostitution or your family starving because you have no money, what decision would you make? There is no choice for most of theses people, it is my job to eliminate the criminals, all of them. Your precious boys in blue are some of the biggest offenders, but they'd never arrest themselves so I guess I'll have to serve as judge, jury, and executioner. The other criminals, the lucky ones will be left unconscious for the few just cops to clean up. The worst offenders however, have no hope for rehabilitation and will be exterminated. My city will return to it's former glory, a safe place to run your business, and raise your family. You won't have to live in fear that the vermin and scum will fuck up this city anymore." He ended the recording, played it back to himself and then burned it on to five CDs. He went out and dropped one off anonymously to each news agency in town, ensuring he wasn't spotted by camera's or any other surveillance. His package included a note saying that message was to be played on the 10 o'clock news tonight.

After dropping off the package at the last news agency, The Night Watcher checked his phone, it was 7:38 pm, he had plenty of time to peruse the information he retrieved from the Titan database. He made his way to his computer, sitting down and accessing the program he wrote earlier checking the information it received, the primary function succeeded in retrieving information on Krótos, but the program was blocked before it was able to retrieve any other important information, The Night Watcher didn't expect perfection, the Titan database was bound to be well protected. He pulled up the information on Krótos, it contained only a couple files, the most promising a video clip of a masked man, threatening the "little titan", the Night Watcher thought it odd that he only referred to one person, but couldn't figure out what it meant. Once he had gathered all of the information he could on Krótos the Night Watcher began checking his security and surveillance systems, but it was a quiet evening, the criminals were apparently frightened by today's events at the courthouse. He switches to the news at 10, just in time to see mister Larry Jenkins yet again, this time on his television. "We have some alarming information, that the police would rather we not share, but I have decided to share it with you all anyway. Now I must warn you the tape I'm about to play contains strong language, please be advised that children should change the channel now." He said before playing the audio file. The Night Watcher heard the message he recorded earlier and smiled, now they knew who he was, and what he was willing to do. "I don't know what I'm gonna do about this Krótos person, but for now I'll let him do what he wants, and I'll stop him after I've taken care of more of the cities worst criminals. Just need to figure out my next target." He said to himself relaxing in his chair.

"Hey, you ready to go? I'm sure you can pig out all you want when we get back to the tower! Unless, of course, you like hanging out with a doomed building. Getting crushed doesn't sound too appealing to me, but I'm not you..."

Aura looked up. She shook her head. “N-no. That doesn’t sound very fun to me either…” But she was reluctant. She wanted to walk away from this one. But, the odds were she wasn’t going to. She grabbed onto Sprouse’s hand and let him pick her up. Her head was pounding with every footstep Sprouse took. She let out a moan and rubbed her temple with her free hand.

When they got outside, Aura breathed in the fresh air. It cleared her vision a bit. She had just enough time to look up and see a large pillar of flames erupt from the center of the building. A look of confusion showed upon her face. Aura wiggled out of Sprouses’s arms and stood up, but kept her hand on his arm for balance. “So… umm… did we win?” She asked simply.

It was not a moment later that there was a large amount of smoke surrounding a group of police men. They began to suffocate. Aura gasped and made an attempt to run forwards, but it was like jumping out of a two story window. You knew you were going to fall, you were just hoping it wasn’t going to hurt very much. She stumbled forwards and grabbed onto a street lamp or something. She held out her hand and clenched her jaw. She was trying to get rid of the cloud, before they suffocated. But she didn’t have the strength left. Her breathing was growing heavier. Aura kept trying, but she was powerless. They all dropped, knees buckling. Aura felt tears drip from her eyes as the last one collapsed. She choked back a sob and felt her knees wobble. The way they fell was all too familiar to her…

Ryan was finished with that conversation, she offered words of consolation, but they did nothing to dull the aching throb of hatred in his heart. His hands were still shaking and he felt sick to his stomach. He held himself together long enough to inquire about his gear. Hopefully, a change of subject would make him feel better. As he asked, the girl grinned, or at least it sounded as if she had, apparently she had been waiting for this question as he tone indicated relief and professionalism that was not present within the words of comfort she had previously issued. She snapped her fingers, the signal producing a drawer which slid out of the wall along with a small click as it locked into place. "All of your equipment is in there. I apologize if I was prying but I went ahead and scanned all the weaponry and repaired what had been damaged in battle." RYan simply nodded. While her help was unnecessary, he was glad she'd offered it. As an android, her idea of maintenance would have been far superior to his. Ryan managed a weak smile of thanks. Turning to the door she puts her hand on the handle, "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go check on all the others. It's become... just a little bit too quiet... Anyways, please come out when you're done." With that she gave Ryan a small smile and walked out the door.

Ryan sat for just a moment. Without warning, he slapped his hands on both sides of his face, hard, as if to wake him from a haze. It was something his father used to do to him before his soccer games. It helped to focus him, it also provided a crude map of the room he was in. He jumped out of bed, the only thing covering his nearly naked body was his compression shorts, a white tank top, and a hospital gown. As his feet his the floor, the vibrations caused from his impact brought the room into his view. Ryan threw the gown off of his body and walked to where he sensed the drawer had slid out of the wall. Ryan slid into the augmented jumpsuit. The stiff plates of kevlar and treated ceramics covering the vulnerable parts of his body as well as his primary striking surfaces. He felt better in the suit. It felt like a second skin to him. He strapped the utility belt around his waist and loaded the gadgets he hadn't used into their respective pockets. Next, he slipped on his boots and laced them tightly. The featherlight black leather felt supple, and supportive. No shoes would ever compare to such boots. Next were his weapons. The staff found its way to his right hip holster, the knives his left, and finally, the kukiri was stored in its sheathe located at the small of Ryan's back. Lastly, Ryan reached down and lifted the mask to his face. Even though he was a Titan now, it wouldn't have felt right. The mask defined him, made him feel safe. Regardless, if his new teammates didn't like it, he could care less. As he walked out of the room, he left his jacket there. He didn't need it any longer. He felt like the jacket hid him, shrouded him in doubt. He wasn't immodest or anything like that without the jacket, as he was fully covered by the thick belt and the black jumpsuit. Further, he no longer felt the need to hide his strength anymore. It would serve, instead, as a warning to those who would challenge him. I am a defender of this City. Test your might against me if you dare. Ryan thought to himself. He smiled weakly to himself. Sounds pretty good for only being true a few minutes ago. Ryan walked over to the door. Reaching for the handle, he hesitated for a moment. Would the others accept him? Would they reject him? Would they fight him? They had every right to despise him. However, Ryan would get no where by waiting. He shook off his fear and opened the door. Ryan, "looked" everywhere, but could feel no vibrations in the floor. He walked over to the wall and tried again there, but no such luck. This was one of the few times he hated his powers. They provided no leverage here. Frustrated, Ryan banged his hand against the wall, creating vibrations that would tell him the general layout of his immediate area. His fist left a dent in the wall that he didn't care about. He could fix it later, for now, he either needed a guide, or a plan. Since android/hologram girl was no where to be found, Ryan's second idea seemed better.

Ryan sat on the floor and focused. He allowed himself to achieve perfect silence and stillness. From there, he pushed his sensory input to the max, allowing his Tremorsense to reach it's way around half of the tower. Sweating, and breathing hard, Ryan found a central point where a large TV and couch were. This appeared to be the living room/kitchen as there were also cooking facilities. Ryan relaxed, bringing his senses back to his immediate area, a twenty foot wide circle, centered on his feet. He got up and walked to the room, following the mental map of the tower he'd created. He sensed footsteps. "So, am I in the right spot? This place is way bigger on the inside than I imagined." Ryan inquired, asking the whole room. Not being able to "see" past twenty feet made social situations such as these quite odd.

Melanie's hologram, upon turning the corner, vanished as she no longer had any use for it. Instead her conscious was transferred to her room, scattered here among her most beloved and powerful technology. From her room she could control the whole tower and keep an eye on everything that was going on.

Checking the cameras she located the two most active Titans in the Tower, Aura and Ryan, who had meet up in the kitchen and were discussing something. By the look on Aura's face Melanie would only guess it had something to do with food. Mentally she snapped herself. 'Idiot! You forgot people need to eat! Ugh, you've been virtual for so long you forgot the need other's have to eat.' and made a mental note to pick up some food, or send one of them out to get some, at the soonest opportunity that arose.

Just as she was about to check up on the other Titans the Titan Communicator rang and she activated it, listening to the voice of Pulse from the other end. "Help, scary girl, I'm not..." he hesitated, obviously searching for the appropriate word to use, "safe." He sounded distressed and Melanie could hear a lot of odd sounds in the background, sounds she identified as... cats meowing? Odd. Perhaps however he had a fear or allergy to cats. Either way, Melanie activated the speaker in the tower.

"Titans, Pulse is in trouble. I've activated the location tracking device on your Communicators to find him. Now move out!"

Before shutting off the speakers and transferring her consciousness into Mel's body, moving around a little, pleased to see that all necessary repairs had been made, before walking out of her room and heading out towards Pulse.
