In a town in Japan called Nakoto, there was once an abandoned house. It was once a toy shop with toys that made every child in town happy. After being abandoned over 40 years ago, a new toy shop has opened inside it. It is run by a rather old fashioned young woman who always wears kimonos. She seems to love to make children happy and many like her, but some bad rumors from older residents say that she isn't the woman she seems to be and is the same person who ran the toy shop over 40 years ago and hasn't aged a single year over this time. Rumors also say that she kidnaps children and teenagers who dig too deep to find out about her and turns them into brainwashed mechanical beings. It may be just a rumor or a exaggeration but something about the woman still is a bit suspicious and some want to find out what it is, even if it may be dangerous.

Nakoto: Nakoto is a nice and small town with a population of 7000. Most houses are of traditional architecture or have some traditional architectural elements. There are also two shrines and a small buddhist temple. On the former main road (now a quiet side road to the main road) is the toy shop. It is inhabited by the shop owner and her helper, who is believed to be a child or younger sibling of the woman. On the present main road, there are a couple shops, cafes and restaurants. The town has a small train station and is surrounded by rice fields with mountains in the distance to the west.
