Image

Distinguishing Features:
No scars, tattoos or piercings of any type

Motto/Catch Phrase:
"The more beautiful the flower is, the more deadly are its toxins."

Personality:
Azalea was raised to be a very mild mannered young lady. Everything about her is graceful; her soothing voice, her fluid movements, even her scent is appealing as she always smells of crushed roses. Azalea was born and raised solely with the intent of being the perfect lady and her personality reflects much of that. On the outside Azalea is a soft spoken beauty. Often you may see her through the window as she wanders around in the garden, the garden she finds joy in tending to whenever she can. However, when you get to know her better, her Slayer tendencies come out and she'll very different. When she feels more comfortable around you she will voice her own opinions and fight to get her point across. She's less ladylike in the sense that she's unwilling to take orders from those claiming to be above her and demands that they earn her respect before she pays it. Azalea is very charismatic and protective of other people, more than once putting her life on the line for a stranger, but doesn't like recognition. All in all Azalea is a passionate and free willed flower hiding in the body of a mild mannered young lady.
Likes:
  • Being Outside (especially in the Garden)
  • Combat Practice / Fighting / Training
  • Solitude
  • Flowers
  • Sewing (Dresses mostly)
  • Nighttime
  • Reading and Writing
  • Respect

Dislikes:
  • Flirting
  • Being Kept Indoors
  • Water (she can't swim)
  • Strangers / Lots of People
  • Bears / Wolves
  • Being Thought of as Weak
  • Pity
  • Felling Helpless

Weaknesses:
Touch/Pain - Azalea grew up with very little physical touch and is very sensitive to it, and hypersensitive to pain to the point it can be crippling and she often carries some form of dried leaves that upon consuming will numb her body and serve as pain relievers
Direct Orders - Having always been controlled by others, Azalea is always weaked by direct commands as her insticts tell her to obey, however her time as a Slayer has made this slightly less extreme than it used to be
Physically Weak - Though her body has become stronger during her time as a Slayer, Azalea's body was designed to be slender and beautiful; not strong, so she finds herself struggling with tasks that require a lot of physical strengt
Friendship/Love - Azalea's entire life revolved around the idea that she needed to find a suitable husband and that all else was unimportant, so though she's very good with people, she struggles with the concept of friends and to love someone romantically is still very new to her

Fears:
Aquaphobia - Azalea was never taught to swim and now avoids large bodies of water for fear of drowning
Agrizoophobia - In her eary Slayer years Azalea found herself alone in the forest facing off with a pack of wolves and now fears wild animals
Brontophobia - The fear of thunder and lightning developed due to when she was a child and had to remain in her room, alone, during violent storms

Theme Song: “Rose Red” by Emilie Autumn
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAiROUocvRU
"Rose Red"

Rose, Rose, Rose, Red
Will I ever see thee wed?
I will marry at thy will sir,
At thy will

A thousand years gone by
Too late to wonder why
I'm here alone
If in my darkest hour
She rose that fell a flower
I should have known

Rose, Rose, Rose, Red
Will I ever see thee wed?
Only if you can capture me

Tell me no more stories
And I'll tell you no lies
No one wants to hurt me
But everybody tries
And if you think that I've been waiting
For my planets to align
It's time you go on
Get your things, get up, get out
I'm doing fine, yeah yeah

Someday these walls will speak
The floors beneath you creek
To call my name
Here in my web of dreams
My whispers turn to screams
And place the blame

Rose, Rose, Rose, Red
Will I ever see thee wed?
Only if you discover me

Tell me no more stories
And I'll tell you no lies
No one wants to hurt me
But everybody tries
And if you think that I've been waiting
For my planets to align
It's time you go on
Get your things, get up, get out
I'm doing fine, yeah yeah

Tell me no more stories
And I'll tell you no lies
No one wants to hurt me
But everybody tries
And if you think that I've been waiting
For my planets to align
It's time you go on
Get your things, get up, get out
I'm doing fine, yeah yeah

For this freedom
I have given all I had
For this darkness
I gave my light
For this wisdom
I have lost my innocence
Take my petals
And cover me with the night

Tell me no more stories
And I'll tell you no lies
No one wants to hurt me
But everybody tries
And if you think that I've been waiting
For my planets to align
It's time you go on
Get your things, get up, get out, get out, get out
I'm doing fine, yeah yeah

Tell me no more stories
And I'll tell you no lies
No one wants to hurt me
But everybody tries
And if you think that I've been waiting
For my planets to align
It's time you go on
Get your things, get up, get out
I'm doing fine, yeah yeah

Tell me no more stories
And I'll tell you no lies
No one wants to hurt me
But everybody tries
And if you think that I've been waiting
For my planets to align
It's time you go on
Get your things, get up, get out
I'm doing fine, yeah yeah

Tell me no more stories
And I'll tell you no lies
No one wants to hurt me
But everybody tries
And if you think that I've been waiting
For my planets to align
It's time you go on
Get your things, get up, get out
I'm doing fine, yeah yeah
Yeah, yeah

General Skills:
Azalea is fairly good at sewing, singing, dancing, reading/writing (in a variety of different languages) and even horseback riding (as her parents found these things suitable interests for young ladies). She has also ben taught how to play the piano, the viola and the harp though she prefers the piano. However she excels in two speific areas: cooking and gardening. She makes an excellent chef as she knows exactly what plants to use in order to make the meal taste good. However, that is not the only thing she does with her plants. Azalea knows all the medical values of the flowers too, and has learned to use them in order to make poison or other natural remedies which helps whenever she is required to perform first aid.

Fighting Talent(s):
Azalea often coats her weapon of choice (a dagger with a rose as the hilt) in these natural poisons as though they will not kill a vampire they can slow them down and/or weaken them. Though the dagger is her weapon of choice she is also skilled in archery, hand to hand combat and sword fighting, but she finds close-combat with her dagger to be the easiest.

History:
Born into a large, noble family as the ninth daughter, Azalea was named according to tradition (each of her sisters also being named after flowers: Dahlia, Willow, Lilac and Lily, Tula, Rosella, Meadow, and Violet). She was raised learning things that would make her more appealing bride, like singing and cooking.. Additionally, as tradition demanded, she learned the names and uses to most every flower known and tended to the garden in her spare time. But as time passed she became less interested in her female grace and more interested in the art of combat and things generally more appealing to the men of the generation. This unladylike fascination concerned her parents who already had plans to marry her off to a wealthy suitor, so Azalea was forced to keep her interests a secret lest her parents put an untimely end to them.

Azalea’s family was well known mostly for the beautiful young women that came from long and expansive line. Wealthy men from all across the lands came to court the fine young ladies; to marvel at their pink-tinted hair and sparkling blue eyes. Her parents were very proud of each of their gorgeous children and attempted to raise them to be proper young women so that in due time them could be married off to the appropriate husband. In this case, Azalea was no exception. Her light pink hair was silky and soft, her eyes such a crystal blue they almost seemed to shimmer in the light. She had many suitors vying for her hand in marriage, which pleased her father greatly. However, Azalea had different plans. On the night of her 15th birthday party, during which all the wealthy young gentlemen would attempt to court her while her father selected potential husbands, she picked one of the flowers from her garden known to make one sick and consumed it. The party will went on as scheduled but she was able to escape to her room under the excuse of “feeling ill”.

About an hour or two into the party there was a knock on the door and Azalea casually called “Come in!” expecting it to be a maid sent to check on her. It was however, to her great surprise, a young gentleman dressed in very expensive and formal clothes. He seemed to have a seductive darkness about him, a grace she couldn’t quite place, but it made her feel uncertain. She greeted him politely enough but then asked him kindly to leave as she was not feeling well, but he did not move. Instead he closed the door behind him and started gliding towards her. Azalea became fearful and called out for him to leave, trying to escape but before she knew what was happening he'd grabbed her and pinned her to her bed, sinking long fangs into her neck. Azalea could only struggle weakly as she felt the life leaving her until suddenly the man went limp and she felt strong arms lift her up before she passed out.

When she woke up a few days later she was in another manor house, more run down than her home but larger on a great amount of land. A man came in, about her age, to check on her and she asked where she was. As it turns out she had been attacked by a vampire and the man who stood in front of her, and had saved her, was a Slayer. He'd brought her here to one the Slayer's HQs so that she would recover and possibly be trained to fight. She immediately agreed and began training. She put her knowledge of plants to good use and was very good with poisons and medicines, her actually being the one to discover that garlic made vampires ill. Azalea spent two years training to be a Slayer before she set off on her own, hunting. For the last two years she has been on this hunt, but in the meantime her family has been looking for her. The King and Queen knew that if she were to be found by her family again, she would tell the world about the existence of vampires, and being a noble woman they would believe her. They did not know, however, that in that time she'd become a Slayer.

But regardless of her Slayer abilities, the vampires sent to retrieve her ambushed and overwhelmed her, knocking her unconscious and bring her to the manor where she would be held in captivity until the end of her days. None of them know she is a Slayer except the other Slayer in the manor, who has not said anything.

Melita had by now scurried back to her seat beside Azalea, smiling softly at the girl beside her. As soon as Julius walked in, the young woman went still, simultaneously terrified and mesmerized by the vampire male. She swallowed hard, eyes watching him as he entered, eyes going wide as he spoke.

Half the people in the room were ampires? Looking around, she started to notice the stark contrasts in the undead versus the fellow humans she was with. Escape from this many vampires? As sure as miss Azeala sounded, Melita doubted it would be so simple, if even possible. She shivered, wondering if any of them were hungry. She hoped not, as being fed from was not a pleasant thought. Any concern over the vampire aspect was immediately forgotten at the realization of her situation.

Servant?! She would be a servant? But she hadn't done anything! Mouth slightly agape, Melita looked about to protest when Julius stood beside her. All that came out was a slight squeek in surprise.

The male's words echoed in her mind as he introduced himself and her as his human. She was his?! But who chose? And would he do to her what he did to Azeala? No, he had said he wouldn't. But obviously he wasn't to be trifled with. Despite shaking in fear and uncertainty, Melita looked up at the vampire claiming her, feeling her cheeks grow oddly warm in startled embarassment. His declaration of 'mine' made a slight shiver run down her spine. What would happen to her now? She wasn't a servant!

Glancing at the others, Melita once more thought that this Julius was by far the most handsome man she'd ever seen, and the other vampires didn't compare. Although looks were the least of her concerns. He was just as intimidating, and currently identified her as some form of property. Her red cheeks went back to their normal hue, only to progress into a fearful pale.

"B-but sir....I haven't done anything! I only recently saw one of your kind for the first time." the young woman reasoned, thinking this some huge mistake, probably a bad dream. She hoped it was.

Benjamin kept a close eye on Roderick as he entered the room. He didn't know the vampire personally, but he had heard stories about the man. Despite her bleeding, Benjamin took a step closer to Hikari, making it quite clear to the new vampire that Hikari was going exactly nowhere with him. It wasn't like Benjamin to get territorial, but there was something about Roderick that seemed a little off. He cast a cursory glance over the last vampire to enter the room. He'd never seen her before, never heard of anything of anyone who looked like her. That was an achievement to be congratulated for given the extent of Benjamin's travels.

Julius began to speak and Benjamin felt relieved. He had never been too fond of Julius's possessiveness but it meant that finally this meeting was going somewhere. Benjamin looked at Melita. What a timid little thing she was. And stuck with Julius too, he smiled to himself. Benajmin placed a hand on Hikari's shoulder. It was times like this he wished for Tacitus's powers so he could send Hikari a message. He still wasn't quite sure of her reaction to contact. It was meant to be comforting but whether Hikari took it like that was another matter entirely. "This is Hikari," the formality of the situation was making Benjamin uncomfortable. Seriousness was not his comfort zone, "and I, I am Benjamin and apparently also the owner of this little klutz if we all adopt Julius's way of thinking about this," there was a hint of a smile in his voice, "Despite her propensity for bleeding around a group of vampires, if I find any of you have harmed her in anyway, you can be sure you will be spending an awful lot of time in my workshop. So please, ladies, gentleman, do your best to control yourselves." He looked particularly to Roderick who, besides Ben, seemed to be the most in need of blood. He would have to find it elsewhere for he would not be getting a single drop of Hikari's blood no matter how desperate he was.

Gathering? It seemed as if everything was getting more confusing as the seconds passed by. After all, he was in a house full with vampires and he didn't like that, it worried him and scared him but he remained calm from the outside. David followed towards the hall where others were already. Both vampires and humans. Were they all servants, and if so he wondered why. He didn't think he'd done anything wrong and he really felt confused about it. A vampire joined through the doors, a woman with red hair. She looked kind of creepy and he noticed she looked at him. He looked away, trying not to catch her attention. He didn't really know he belonged to her though.

'So some of you with a longer lifespan already know why you are here but for the benefit of the humans lets explain. Earlier today we received a letter making each of you our own personal servant.... This is because somewhere in your small lives you committed a crime against the Vampire Community.' The older Vampire stopped and took from his pocket the original letter, handing it to the two new Vampires to read and find their designated human. He then stood next to Melita, prompting everyone else to stand next to their new partner.

David looked around to find the red-haired vampire, the knew one alone. He hesitatingly made his way towards her to stop beside her. He looked down at the ground, feeling rather nervous. Though he was curious to get to know her and stuff, he still didn't like the idea of being a servant. He didn't mind entertaining people, but he simply didn't think he was a servant, anyone's servant. He thought he was free, but now that completely changed. He slowly looked up at the woman, wondering what she was thinking.

Roderick, once he'd composed himself, brushed an idle hand through his hair and sat up, peering through the letter Julius handed him, "Azalea..?" He raised an eyebrow, though he shrugged it off, hopping to his feet and waving to the like-haired female Vampire that eyed him, giving her a toothy grin. She held herself well. He liked her already. He handed her the letter, "Here, it'll help you figure out which of this lot is your pet." He handed her the letter before, blinking as the older vampire stood next to his human whose name was apparently, Melita. As he was advised to stand next to his pet, Roderick gave a frown before walking over to Azalea.

He eyed her for a minute before leaning in and whispering in a challenging tone, "Look. Let's make this easy. I feed very little at a time. I promise to be a gentleman and not put you in a lot of pain if you comply with me.." He cooed into her ear, but his voice contained a bit of malice as he continued, "Defy me, even once... and I'll make sure my bite feels like liquid fire underneath your skin.." He licked his lips at the thought, but he refrained from indulging in his threat, "So... don't try anything stupid, okay Lea?" he quirked an eyebrow, deciding to nickname her the last three letters of her first name.

Roderick stood properly once he'd instilled his motives to Azalea, waiting for a reaction really. He wasn't exactly sure why she was different, but for some reason she had a fire that the other girls lacked. He liked it. Letting his mind get to the matter of hand, Roderick smiled sweetly and proceeded in tilting his head innocently at Julius, "Of course. As long as it's kept likewise.." He sent his sharp retort as he watched Julius eye Azalea.

He knew both of the other male vampires seemed to be weary, eyeing Benjamin and Julius before sighing and messing up his already unkempt hair, "Look. If you stay away from mine.. I'll stay away from yours. Quit eyeballin` me like we've got some sort of rivalry going on.. we don't." He rolled his eyes, "I don't care. I wouldn't even be here if any of us had the option to say no." He was referring to the Vampire laws, "Lets get over it and try to have some nice, civil fun, yes?" He gave Benjamin a small smirk, "Klutzes aren't my flavor anyway.."

Hikari Akane

Hikari blinked as a girl approached her ushering for her to sit down, Hikari bit her bottom lip before laughing nervously, "I don't think we've got the luxury to do as we please, even if it is something we need." She replied back, giving her a happy, genuine smile, "Thank you for your concern..?" She hadn't quite caught Melita's name yet, so she was at a loss of words, "N-no.." Hikari rubbed the back of her neck, "I-It happened so fast.. Tacitus just helped me wrap it up to contain the smell somewhat.. I think..?" She was new to all of this vampire stuff, so all of her conclusions were merely theories.

She grew quiet however under Julius's presence. Something about him sent an instant chill down her spine. She listened to him talk, realizing that this in fact was happening.. though she kind of realized that when she got the stake to the head. Dreams didn't allow pain after all. Not really. As he drew closer, she just drew quieter.

"B-but sir....I haven't done anything! I only recently saw one of your kind for the first time." - Melita

The words made Hikari's eyes widened, grabbing Melita's hand since she was still close enough. She shook her head in warning, begging her to choose her words wisely. Something about the air Julius gave off gave her reason to believe Melita wouldn't be as lucky as she had been with Benjamin. She gave her a reassuring smile before letting go. She didn't want to get in trouble either..

Hikari blinked at Ben's closeness, glancing a bit away from him. It made her quite nervous actually, so she leaned in, but only for a moment, "Who is he..?" she asked, referring to Roderick, "Why is everyone so antsy about him..?" Though it felt like she'd taken a bite of a bad lemon when she felt Benjamin's hand rest upon her shoulder, a shiver of disgust and fear running up her spine. She didn't pull away however. She feared Julius and Roderick far more than she feared Ben.. She just took a calming breath, reminding herself to think of her father's words, 'Look for the silver lining. It's always there, even if you can't quite see it..' She repeated the mantra, over, and over until she felt her heartbeat steady itself.

"This is Hikari, and I, I am Benjamin and apparently also the owner of this little klutz if we all adopt Julius's way of thinking about this." - Ben

Hikari's eyes were wide as dinner plates, disbelieving as well. Everyone in the room was claiming them like puppies that were left in a box on the side of the street. Hikari closed her eyes, trying to hide her annoyance. I will find a way to be happy..even if I'm stuck here for the rest of my life.. It is still MINE.. She swore to herself in her head, None of these vampires are going to interrupt my happiness..

Hikari opened her mouth in protest, glaring up at Ben, this time her being the one childish. The pout on her face was very uncharacteristic for the serious girl. I didn't just hurt myself! I had a stake threw at me! She was nice and tried to help, but it doesn't change the fact that I was an innocent victim who was ASSAULTED by a VAMPIRE. Not a klutz!!!! She screamed in her head, subconsciously crossing her arms in front of everyone without realizing it.

Not his flavor? She rolled her eyes at Roderick's announcement, Is that supposed to insult me? I take it as a compliment.

Melita smiled warmly at Hikari. She felt happy, albeit confused as to the what she took to be a comforting gesture by the other female. Waving goodbye to the two girls she'd met, she looked almost wistfully at the red-haired woman, her scolding of her fellow vampires reassuring to her. Melita was reluctant to leave the other humans and the new female vampire, but she supposed she had no choice in the matter. Not wanting to anger the one she was assigned to, she followed him quietly, looking around anxiously.

Upon entering the room, Melita's eyes went wide, admiring the warm decor. It was a rather nice room if she were to be honest, and she had to admit, Julius seemed to have nice taste. Sadly, her thoughts of the room and how to organize it's contents even better were creully interrupted by reality.

The human's face went a bit pale as he mentioned feeding, and her eyes watched him nervously. So far he was being nothing but polite to her, but she didn't want to be his dinner. Seeing his box and it's contents, she 'eep'-ed softly. He may have been prepared and even sanitary, but the fact still remained he intended on biting her.

"I...Is there no other way to give blood to you? Is it going to hurt much? Will haing a drink first make it better? If so, I'll have a drink. Where are you going to bite me? I..I was telling the truth back there! I..I only just saw a vampire less than a day ago..I think it was a day..." Melita spouted out, looking a bit confused at the memory. What had happened? How long had she passed out? And what happened between now and then?

"I only knew it was a vampire because I noticed them biting someone in an alleyway..and..there was so much blood..." Melita shuddered at the memory, looking shaken and sad. She took a deep breath, trying to remember, and looking dismayed that she couldn't.

"I-I don't even remember anything after it turned to look at me....I remember blackness...nothing more...I dunno if I fainted or was knocked out. I just remember those eyes..and the blood, blood al on the ground, I could smell it, and I knew that person wasn't alive anymore..." Melita felt her voice grow softer. She was scared. She wasn't ready to die. How much would he take? She dared to glance up at Julius.

ImageRoderick grimaced slightly as Caitriona reprimanded their actions, but silenced himself anyhow. All it took was for a woman to scold him? Was he a child or something? From his behavior he held several traits of a rowdy little boy. He was starting to realize Julius's animosity towards him, but it only drew a smug grin to the redhead's lips. Roderick was intrigued that an older Vampire saw him as a threat. Why would that be perhaps..? He thought to himself cheerfully. This just keeps getting better and better. I've already made a 'friend'. His eyes gave Julius a challenging look, but aside from the glances, he'd followed Cait's request.

Time to feed? At the word hungry, Roderick licked his lips. For a second he'd forgotten his thirst, but the reminder sent a burning sensation through his throat. He did get interrupted before he got to feed... He'd soon make up for that mishap however.

"Indefinitely." Roderick chimed to Caitriona, smiling in a welcoming manner. Roderick blinked in surprise as he became liable for not one, but three others. He looked to Azalea, then to Cait and David with a chuckle, "To be honest I'm as lost as you are, but let's try our hand and if we get lost, at least we get lost together." His grin was angelically charismatic, despite his nature.

He took Azalea by the hand without any further explanation and motioned for David and Cait to follow. He dared her to defy him, to give him any reason to unleash himself. The person he wished wasn't taboo and controversial. He loved the morbidness of being a Vampire, the blood, the gore, the strength. Everything about it. Blood was symbolism for power, life. Draining the energy out of someone was thrilling in the most euphoric way. Ever since he lost Katarina Roderick indulged in all the selfish perks of being a vampire. He eyed the staircase, pointing towards it, "Up there." He didn't let them in on his little secret of "sight". Small things like direction came easy to him. He just had to be near a trigger. If he touched someone's skin directly, he could see parts of their future. Usually the tragic bits. He worked as a gypsy for quite a while, it got him laid quite a few time. A crystal ball and a few visions was all it took to hook a human, whether they were true or not.

He looked to the doors on the wing Julius advised, but he didn't exactly give them detailed information to go on. There were several doors. Roderick stared at each door for a second before making a beeline to the proper doors, pointing to the one left of the one he stood at, "This one is yours." He smirked to Cait, "If you care to challenge my gift, you'll be discouraged, because you'll find that all of your belongings are already inside.." Then his gums began throbbing in anticipation, "Now then.." He shifted his eyes to Azalea, "Shall we begin the feeding ceremony, little dove..?" He opened the door, releasing his firm grip on her hand before motioning for her to enter his room, "Ladies first." It wasn't so much that Roderick was being gentlemanly, he honestly just didn't trust her. Having her, or anyone behind him for that matter was simply something he just wasn't comfortable with. His eyes returned to Cait one final time, "If you ever need anything. I'm a door or wall knock away.." he flirtatiously winked at her. He was growing antsy, he wanted to just get on with feeding, to rip into Azalea and drain her dry.. I can't be reckless, I'm not allowed to kill her. Vampire law has to ruin all of my fun..

Azalea

Azalea felt her body shiver just slightly as she realized what was going on, what she and all the other humans here had in common. They all had one way or another discovered the existance of vampires, something no human was to know. So this elusive Vampire Counsil that she had heard so much about had had all of them kidnapped and forced in to servitude under these vampires. Why, though? Why not simply kill them? Azalea couldn't fathom. But reguardless of the reason, it seemed she was left at an advantage. The letter had only listed one slayer in this household, a man named Tristan Blair, and distictly labled her as a human. That meant that whomever was her Master would be bitting off more than they could chew.

...no pun intended.

As she shivered a man walked over, presumably her Master, the vampire Roderick. His walk remined her of the suitors she'd had vying for her hand who thought they were all better than the others. Arrogant pricks with such shallow and self centered ideas it made it hard for her breath. So confident and charismatic they could charm a cow into milking itself, something she'd never cared for. She could tell by the way he walked over towards her they would not get along without some serious effort on her part. Effort, however, she would have to put forth if she had any chance of escaping.

Aza remained stationary, neither moving not acknowledging his present as he stood beside her. She didn't so much as flitch when he leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Look. Let's make this easy. I feed very little at a time. I promise to be a gentleman and not put you in a lot of pain if you comply with me.." Roderick purred like a panther, his fangs and claws only barely contained by the silky black fur, "Defy me, even once... and I'll make sure my bite feels like liquid fire underneath your skin..." Aza's eyes narrowed as he licked his lips, obviously fond of the idea of her suffering. "So... don't try anything stupid, okay Lea?" he quirked an eyebrow, his voice mockingly playful.

'Abomination,' Aza thought bitterly, 'you truly must have no idea who I am to think I would break so easily in your hands.' Of course, she didn't say this. She needed to play submissive. Instead she turned to look at him, taking in his apperance, carefully hiding the hatred for him in her crystal blue eyes, a small small playing on her delicate lips. "As you wish, Master Roderick." she replies in a falsely respectful tone, almost like she was humoring him. "However, I'd truly appriciate it if you would refer to me as Azalea, or Aza if you feel so inclined to nickname me."

Then without waiting for his reply she looked away again, staring in front of her as if he didn't deserve so much as a sideways glance from her. However her easy, blank glaze hardened as vampire began to leave with their subjugates. They were going to feed, and she knew it. Her heart was screaming at her to take the knife from her pounch and fight to her last breath in a desperate attempt to save the humans, before the vampires drained them dry. But in the back of her mind she knew that she couldn't. It was night. Even if she could distract the vampires long enough for the humans to run they would be caught before dawn could bring the sunrise again. No, as much as she was compelled to act, she had to wait for the upper hand or none of them would survive the encounter.

'The letter said that these vampires were to care for their humans until the day of their natural deaths, ordered directly from the Counsil.' she thought, her delicate hands clentching into fists as she watched them each being lead away, trying to restrainn herself, 'They wouldn't dare defy a direct order; they wouldn't dare kill those people.' These thoughts kept her in place, but only barely, and it couldn't make her feel any better about simply standing there. She didn't remain standing there for longer however as Roderick took her hand delicately. Aza could feel the chill of his skin and had to resist the urge to yank her hand out of his.

"To be honest I'm as lost as you are, but let's try our hand and if we get lost, at least we get lost together." he said with a small chuckle, directing the statement to the other female vampire and her male subjugate who were tagging along, before tunring and beginning to walk. After a short time Aza gently slid her hand out of his and let it rest against the folds of her dress, not direct defiance per say but still... Her moment of stubborness didn't last long though as the four of them came to the vampire's wing.

"This one is yours." Roderick smirked at the female vampire Cait, "If you care to challenge my gift, you'll be discouraged, because you'll find that all of your belongings are already inside." Then he turned in bloodlusting green eyes upon Azalea, "Now then... Shall we begin the feeding ceremony, little dove..?" He opened the door for her in an act of false respect, releasing his firm grip on her hand before motioning for her to enter his room, "Ladies first." he purred before winking at Cait, "If you ever need anything. I'm a door or wall knock away."

Aza kept her brave face on, brushing past the flirtatious monster at the door and walking to the window, surraying the fall. Three stories; not a good idea. But there was no other way out, besides fighting with her 'Master' which would not end well for her. Her heart was pounding, the blood rushing in her ears and her mind desperately tried to think of any other way out. Anything to avoid... The Feeding Ceremony.

Azalea had never actually been bitten before but she'd watched it happen, and she'd studied it. It was painful for the first few moments, at least until the vemon kicked in and numbed the area, making it an almost pleasant sensation before knocking the person out. This was designed to make humans crave the sensation of being feed on, to make it easier for the vampires to get a meal, and it was a very clever effect. But for her it was going to be painful no matter how much vemon she had in her system; with her low pain tolerance and delicate body, it was going to hurt worse than she could fathom. Why else would she have gone to such lengths as drinking garlic water to avoid it? But she didn't have anything to repel the vampires, and now here one was to drink from her very neck. And she couldn't stop it.

Aza clentches her fists, her eyes staring blankly out the window. No, she couldn't stop it, but she could fight it. She knew very well that her chances of winning a fight against Roderick at this point were extremely small but then again soo were her chances of escaping the Feeding Ceremony. So what the heck, why not go for it? Her hand crept to the bag as her hip, not opening it yet, but resting on it, feeling the bulge of the knife burried within the folds of fabric and herbs. 'I swore an oath to the Slayer society,' she thinks to herself, 'I would never let a vampire have a drop of my blood, even if I have to fight until my dying breath. If he wants a taste of me, he'll have to kill me first.'

ImageRoderick's eyes flashed to Ava as she made her way inside his quarters, then back to Cait as he received her reaction. His own became dumbfounded however as she countered his preformance. He smirked to himself, "You wound me, Madame." He cooed, before taking the hint. Without a second attempt, Roderick nimbly shifted himself into his quarters, closing and locking the door behind him, "If you attempt to slide out the window.. you'll stumble, fall, crack your head open, and die almost instantly." Then his eyes glittered a bit, he drew closer, brushing her hair from her right shoulder onto her left casually as he continued to speak, "Second scenario; You attempt to fight me. If that were to happen, I snap your pretty little neck because I've nothing to lose. I'm not afraid of the Vampire laws deary.. Keep that in mind before you make imbeciles of us both.." He chimed in a cheerful tone. Then he withdrew, removing his overcoat, exposing a plain white button down tunic. Shortly, his fangs would be dug into her skin and the euphoria would begin. He licked his fangs, the smell of the girl was driving him literally insane.

Roderick knew mostly what was about to happen, but he was a generally kind man... Alright, even he would have laughed at that statement. Well, he was giving her a chance to change her mind, "I can see the future you know.. you have no way of getting a step ahead of me.." He purred, enjoying having her in this state. He enjoyed the fear he could literally smell as it radiated off of her, "Well alright, Aza." He replied, rolling his eyes. I liked mine better, but it can't be helped. If my pet wants to pick her own name, it's trivial to me. She can have it.

Roderick stuck by his word, he was being rather gentle. He proceeded with leaning in to close the gap between them, letting his tongue slide up the soft skin of her neck. He stopped his taunting, wrapping a firm arm around Azalea's waist, "Take a deep breath first, it helps the pain, love." Then he dived in after giving her a small window of a chance to take his advice. His fangs bore into her skin deeply, one hand petting her hair, the other pulling her closer by the waist. The taste of her blood sending him into a state of euphoria. He wasn't paying much attention to her anymore now that he'd already taken a bite. He was completely underestimating her. Unaware she was a hunter.. Actually, he'd been graced enough to never have met one until now. If he was vulnerable even once around Azalea, now would have been his vulnerable moment. His eyes were closed as the blood hit his tongue, savoring every drop. If she was going to try to escape, now would be the time to attack. His guard was low.

Azalea

"If you attempt to slide out the window.. you'll stumble, fall, crack your head open, and die almost instantly." Azalea stood still as he spoke, her blue eyes icy as she looked out the window into the dark void of night. The vampire's hideaway. She could feel him come closer, his chilled hand brushing her spoke rose colored hair off onto one shoulder, and she fought to hold her ground; whether it was fear or determination that held her in place though she could not tell. "Second scenario; You attempt to fight me. If that were to happen, I snap your pretty little neck because I've nothing to lose. I'm not afraid of the Vampire laws deary. Keep that in mind before you make imbeciles of us both." He chimed in a cheerful tone that made her cletch her fists hair enough ther nails left stinging imprints in her palms, and her hard eyes kept straight ahead as he withdrew and shed his coat.

"I can see the future you know... you have no way of getting a step ahead of me." He purred, obviously pleased with himself for so perfectly cornering this little mouse. His foresight had lead him to believe that he was dealing with a simple little mouse, but Aza was no mouse. She was a vicious rat only barely concealing her teeth. 'In this game,' she thought with a faint feeling of sadisfaction, 'the cat is not the only one with fangs.' "Well alright, Aza." Roderick cooed, coming up behind Azalea and carefully slighting his arms around her waist, causing her to shiver involunterily. She was caught, but her small thought kept her from screaming; the rat would overtake the cat. It had to. She had to. Or else the game would end, along with her life and the lives of the people trapped as she was.

Azalea felt Roderick's hand gently pull her hair down, tilting her head back to expose her neck and her hands clentched until her knuckles turned white. In her head she was screaming, and she bit down hard on her lip to keep from screaming outloud as she felt his tongue slide up the soft skin of her neck. 'Stay strong!' she demanded of herself, unable to keep the shivers of sensation from racing up and down her spine, 'Don't you DARE give in!' Suddenly his grip tightened and she gave a small gasp. "Take a deep breath first, it helps the pain, love." He murmured tauntingly before his fangs sunk deep into her neck, one hand petting her hair, the other pulling her closer by the waist.

Azalea's eyes went wide and her lips parted to scream, but nothing came out. The pain had choked her voice until there was nothing left, no air to breath, and though she could feeling the numbing effects settling it there was no pleasure for her; only excrutiating pain turned slightly dull. Her blue eyes grew glazed as her conciousness became fleeting, and she fought to stay awake. She could not afford to pass out in his arms when he was so exposed; this opportunity would likely never arrive again.

'C'mon Aza! You've got to stay strong!' she thought, commanding herself to stay awake despite the heavy darkness settling in her clouded mind, 'Get the knife... I've got to reach the knife...' Her fair hands moved, one gripping tightly the collar of Roderick's white shirt, while the other slipped down to the bag at her hip, griping the knife firmly as she could and raising it.

"You ought to be more gentle..." she murmurred, "Flowers can be dangerous. And if you hold a rose too tight..." Azalea whispered, her eyes barely opening as her fingers tighten around the handle of the knife, holding it above his back, "You're bound to be peirced by it's thorns."

Suddenly with a final burst of strength the Slayer noble girl brought down the knife, burrying the blade deep into his back. She felt his body give a violent jerk which flung her to the ground, tearing the flesh of her delicate neck. It had missed his heart, being aimed at the wrong side of his spine, but neither had it gone deep enough to peirce it as Aza had never been strong, especially not with this much blood loss. As she lay on the floor Aza fought to stay concious, clapping a hand over her bleeding neck, trying to stop the flow of blood. 'Get up!' was all she could think, her father's voice in her head demanding, 'Azalea, get up! You're bleeding! You need to get away!' and yet she was finding it hard to move, the pain forcing her body into a state of shock.
