Setting

21 Markres Street, Swindon
(If you google the street you won't find it because it doesn't actually exist. I think it would be bad to post a real address online, even so a strangers.)

The house is a house like most houses in the street, they all seem to look similar. The area is a relative new estate with houses to rent, the houses were built in 2001 (12 years ago) and there has been tenants before you therefore there is some ware and tare around the home. The area is inhabited by families however the families are not exactly the most welcoming most of the time, it's either be best friends with them or your going to face neighbourhood trouble.

You are located ten minutes away from a corner shop, by foot, which means if you need anything small then you can get it but there isn't much you can buy there, just the basics. Along with the shop there is also a local pub which is located near the shop. To get to town where all of the shops are you will need to drive or take the local bus, it will take twenty minutes by car. Walking would take about forty five minutes however there are some very busy roads and so it's not exactly to safe.

The house is a four bedroom house with two bathrooms, one bathroom is an on suite bathroom, the other is shared, a livingroom and a kitchen which is typical of an British home. The house is small, like most houses. The house had been redecorated four years before you moved in and so it looks relatively new, the house has been surprisingly well looked after. Pets are allowed on the property however all housemates must agree.

Foyer / Hallway

Image Looks larger than it really is. The foyer is rather small, it has enough space on the right side of the door to hand up coats and stand shoes but not much more. The hallway has a wooden floor and has been painted with lemon wallpaper, not exactly a favorite design among most. There is a hallway which leads past the stairs to the back door there is a door which leads out into the garden. The door on the right of the front door leads into the living room. Upstairs hallway has the same sort of design. Upstairs there are five doors; four bedrooms and one door. Each door is white wood like the downstairs door.

Living Room

ImageThe livingroom is located at the front of the house and is right next to the front door as the hallway is on the left side, you enter by the door on the left of the window. The exit into the kitchen is from behind the person who took the image.

The living room is the largest room in the house with a long sofa on the right with two turn in corners for people to sit. The television sits to the right of the window, it can be a pain because the sun some-times comes through the window and gets in the way of the television, also the television is rather far from the sofa. The coffee table, often covered with stains and shoe marks, is located near the sofa. There is often a mugs on coaster rule however not always do people follow those rules. There is also two end tables which sit either side of the sofa, they hold two lamps and a number of candles. Mugs tend to sit here for weeks because no-one can be bothered to clean them up.

The fireplace is an open fireplace but it's never used, it's more of decoration or a place where cigarettes have been dumped after they have been smoked, mainly from the previous tenants. The wallpaper is rather new however it has started to peel up at the joins, it doesn't really match the rest of the house and many have called it horrible.

Dining Room (Kitchen)

Image The diningroom is realatively small. If you are cooking and everyone else has decided to take up refuge in there the it can become very stressful as it can be hard to move around everyone. The image was taken when the kitchen was all done up to look good, it never looks like that now, most of the time it's a complete mess with phone chargers, pens and other pieces of random items scattered across the worktops.

The first cupboard on the left when you enter the room is infact the fridge but has been disguised as a cupboard, the top door would be the fridge and the bottom is the freezer. The draws are often home to cutlery, tea towels and a number of useless leaflets that have been thrown in there after they have come through the front door letterbox.

The cupboards next to the oven is home to baking trays, racks, pans and other cooking utensils. The cupboards at the back of the room are filled with more food, except for the cupboard under the sink which is the cleaning supplies. The cupboard on the back right of the room is infact not a cupboard but houses the water meter which is used to turn on and off the hot water and the heating. The two cupboards on the top left of the cooker is home to the mugs and glasses, the cupboards on the right are home to bowls and plates. Across the worktops there are also a number of appliances including the kettle, the microwave and a bread bin which probably houses more mouldy bread crumbs than actual bread.

There are two entrances to the room, one is from the living room which is technically the same room as the kitchen, there is a large opening where the old tenants took down the wall and replaced it with a neat archway because they liked the design better. Another way is to the right, there is a door which will lead through to the hallway, next to the back garden.

Garden

ImageThe door out to the garden is from the hallway. The garden is not really too big but it's a suitable size. The garden doesn't normally look amazing, the grass is normally unkempt and looks more like a jungle (not literally), and the plants have been replaced by overgrown weeds.

The patio is next to the house and has a number of weeds growing from between the slabs. The patio furniture is made of wood which may have some mold on them. In the hotter months they are normally home to spiders and attract other insects also.

At the back of the garden there is a stone area with a bird bath, mainly with weeds growing between the stones, well the ones not scattered across the grass and then dirty water which doesn't attract many birds. Next to that there is a place with two wooden frames that were once used for growing string beans but they have been long dead.

Mitchell climbed switched off the engine of the temporary hire car which he parked out the front of the house at the curb in order to leave room for others to park on the driveway. He took his keys out the admission and pushed his black sunglasses up temporarily as he glanced out the window at his new home. It wasn't the biggest house he had lived in but it was cozy. He pulled his shades back down into position then pushed the blue ford car door open and climbed out, slipping the car keys into the back pocket of his black skinny jeans then headed to the back seat where he pulled out a television and a play station three which he balanced on top of the tv but secured it there by holding the cable in one of the hands that he was gripping the television.

With his foot he kicked shut the car door temporarily and headed up the path near the driveway towards the house then stopped as he realized he had left his keys in his pocket and he was the first to arrive at the house. He let out a sigh and placed the television and play station three on the ground then pulled his keys back out from his back pocket and unlocked the front door then opening it. Picking up the tv and the game station, he slipped through the front door and hurried up to his room. He quickly looked around and picked out room three, there was a tree blocking the window which meant that less sun would get in through the window.

As a vampire, the sun did effect Mitchell, too much exposure would hurt his skin and his eyes however it wasn't impossible to go outside in the day if he covered up his skin and wore sun glasses. That was fine in the summer but in winter people often saw it strange to be wearing sun shades when there was little sun.

After placing his television and play station in his room he hurried back downstairs and pulled his keys from the front door then walked back across to his car where he collected a blue suitcase. It wasn't as large as you would think it would be, Mitchell liked to travel light, he didn't have many clothes and the clothes he did have he was rather attached to. For example, he never leaves the house without his black leather jacket and he only takes his black leather boots off if he is going to bed. He pretty much lives in his black leather jeans and it's very rare to see him when he isn't wearing his old green fingerless gloves.

After dropping off his suitcase in his new room, Mitchell made his way back downstairs and headed through into the kitchen. He looked looked around the cupboards and draws for a moment to see what there was in the cupboards, there wasn't much food and most of it looked out of date but he managed to find some tea bags that were in date along with some milk which was going to go out of date the next day, he was lucky. He filled the kettle up with water from the tap and placed it back on it's stand, plugged it in then flicked the switch to boil the water. As he waited he took a seat in the kitchen and sat proceeding to pull on a thread that was hanging from the end of the forth finger of his left glove.
